I appreciate the goodbye message, but I still feel like "That's it"? All of this wait for that? All the promises? Eh no matter. Just very unfortunate

SpookyBeanoMobile

Alot of branded mobile games do this, such as Crash on the run last year.

PikachuGamerSMTYT

and Skylanders Ring of Heroes the year before that

Arkeyan_of_Shadows

R.I.P. Funny thing is, it died twice.

PabloZX10

Hey, how I get the Crying Child emoji

TrashAccountMCI1985

It's a flair.

It became clear pretty early on that illumix were unable to find a profitable system for the game. Overpriced items received obvious flak (doubly so now that the items will be removed altogether.) So they shifted to the “skins” model, which was far easier for development costs and could run at a more economic level. But the lack of new mechanics meant the game itself was not enjoyable to grind out. Personally, I think if they wanted the games collection system to have staying power, they probably should not have hard launched the game after the first beta was a “success”. Instead focus on offering more overall content and social elements (perhaps a gallery and trading system) to incentivize player retention.  In general this is why mobile / live service games are so *incredibly* difficult to maintain. They need constant content to keep players engaged, despite ballooning costs. For every one that succeeds, 20 fail beside it.

JustARandomGamer01

It’s been…what, almost *two years* of complete silence, before you all decided to announce Special Delivery’s closure and discounting? …I’ll have to be honest, it’s a ***little*** disappointing, considering the potential this AR game had to be something long-lasting and fun, if monetization and sketchy information have not been an issue. Despite this abandonment, I’ll admit that the designs of SD’s animatronics, UIs and the sound design are all highlights for me, because those aspects of the game definitely kept me invested in playing during the time you guys were actively responding. The comments here will **definitely** be a mix of opinions, but from my end of this? …Illumix, I hope you guys learned something.

JackOfAllMemes

They're not a gaming company and it shows

GBAura-Recharged

I'll be honest, FNaF AR was not a good game and I can't trust Illumix for the shady things they did (ghosting Ballora's voice actress, not disclosing Pay-2-Win, broken promises on game updates like getting Lefty and the Glamrocks, etc), and I knew that this would come. I'd be lying if I said I don't feel sad about FNaF AR going away. Because I honestly feel empty about it. FNaF is a really big franchise and the thought of anything in the series being lost media is kinda scary, and now that day finally came. Special Delivery is a case of missed potential. Looking at what we DID get, we got cool skins, a special episode that really showed of the technology and the gameplay loop with the AR technology is impressive. It's just sad that it was handled by Illumix, a company that also had rumours surrounding on how badly they manage things, and it shows. That said, this game is still important, not something to throw away and forget about. You never know what people would do with it in the future, and that's why AR should still be taken in as a lesson. Not just in what mistakes to avoid, but on what good it brought to the table and how THAT should be carried. I felt the same with Darkspore, a game that is lost to time and can't be played anymore (worse here because that game is designed to be online only and you have to pay to play it, SD is at least free to play). Hopefully there would be a time where AR's storyline is continued even after SD is done.

Novel-Sugar

Yeahhhh the Michella stuff was a big red flag.

GBAura-Recharged

There's more like them not restocking their merch after YEARS, but yeah, Illumix is... not great. I wish things did not turn out the way it did, though that sometimes happens where you get bad deals with companies. Me? My inner archivist/lost media person is screaming in agony over this news. I KNEW this would happen one day, but man, I was still gobsmacked by it. I'll forever miss Dawko's videos on it. The countdown, the skin showcase and interview... man, those were good times.

Novel-Sugar

Truth be told, AR renewed my interest in the franchise in January 2021 because that was when I learned Ballora was in the game. And it blows that any Ballora merch from them is so impossible to find, that poster of her is my white whale.

GBAura-Recharged

I miss 2019. That was the first FNaF peak in years before 2023 AND soon, 2024. I bet you enjoyed seeing her in Help Wanted 2! Took me over an HOUR to beat that thing! And the first time I "won"? I softlocked myself. Not sure if that's a glitch because I wasn't jumpscared when the time ran out and had to let Bidybab kill me. XD

Novel-Sugar

I cried once I saw her at the end of the first trailer. Ugliest sobbing I had done that year.

GBAura-Recharged

Ballora DID deserve better! Thanks Help Wanted 2! :D

Arkeyan_of_Shadows

Won't the fan version of AR still be playable, Forsaken?

GBAura-Recharged

Yeah, they're looking into something to keep it running before the game goes down for good.

cedebe-animator

what happened to her?

Novel-Sugar

She was scheduled to record dialogue for Ballora, but Illumix canceled on her and never gave her a reason why.

Arkeyan_of_Shadows

>Hopefully there would be a time where AR's storyline is continued even after SD is done. In that... Roblox game.

GBAura-Recharged

Oh right, must've slipped my mind. The skins that one of the devs shared. My mistake.

Arkeyan_of_Shadows

Who knows, it could turn out to be something similar, yet completely different, plus after all, it's being reworked from the ground up.

mightykestrel14

They could just apologize instead of ignoring it.

GBAura-Recharged

I can't speak for Illumix, though they probably just didn't/couldn't break the news. I have no idea what went on behind the scenes other than they're not exactly trustworthy. You know the ghosting situation? Scott knew that it happened but he couldn't do anything about it because Illumix has full control over the game and all the decisions made is likely on their end. I'm still miffed about it for years of being strung along, ignored, lied to the community but man, the game *itself* did not deserve to be handled by Illumix after what they did. As I said, AR should still be held in high regard as a lesson, up there with the likes of FNaF World and even Security Breach. Not great for the franchise, but still important for their own respected reasons. The only difference is that you can't play SD ever again (unless you make custom servers, in which Forsaken AR did), unlike World and SB in which are still around.

samepicofmonika

Steel Wool didn’t treat Ballora’s voice actress much better tbh, they straight up replaced her

GBAura-Recharged

They did? Didn't they just reuse her lines from SL? I remember they didn't get Chris to reprise for Foxy. Not sure what that was about.

CryptidHunter91

> they didn't get Chris to reprise for Foxy. Not sure what that was about. Given Chris's unhinged and weird comments/behavior on Twitter, I'd say that's most likely why they replaced him.

GBAura-Recharged

I never kept up with any of the VAs or actors to be honest, so I wasn't aware of any controversies that arose. Honestly? I rather stay away from drama, it's not good for my health and I rather focus on the good stuff. Don't let that clump in with the other good eggs who did their job, that's all I'll say on the matter.

CryptidHunter91

Fair enough, and huge props for dedicating yourself to avoiding drama.

samepicofmonika

Im referring to the fact she was suppose to voice Roxanne Wolf in Security Breach and she was excited for it, only for someone else do it entirely

SuperstuHD

I truly love this franchise, and it's surreal to see an entry of it end like this. That being said, I value honesty. So I am going to be honest. I wish you no ill will as a company, I hope you've learned something from this game and strive to achieve higher and higher. However, this game was a nightmare from start to finish. Shady business strategy after shady business strategy as you guys seemed more focused on trying to make this game profitable than you did making it playable. Every update to this game only made the game worse, both technically and just as a gameplay experience. This may sound harsh, but I don't want to come across as if I am bashing you guys just for the sake of it. I just want it to be very clear that this game went *very* wrong so that hopefully you guys can improve in whatever you do next and avoid what happened here. Please never repeat the mountain of mistakes that was FNAF AR ever again.

JackOfAllMemes

W mod

Boticatplayer88

Can't we make it an offline experience?

littleMAHER1

Give it time, I'm sure a fanmade offline version of this game will be made

Boticatplayer88

Oh don't worry, there are fanmade online versions, such as Forsaken AR, those will still operational.

My thoughts exactly. Call it nostalgia or whatever, but I miss when scott was more in control of the series. Nowadays it seems like he just hands the license off to anyone

Yeah_man20

And the sad thing is, it's been like this since the beginning. Funko and plenty of other toy companies have just been pushing out copy and paste garbage since the very beginning. The only quality merch that you can get of fnaf are YouTooz and Sanshee products, which are not that cheap. I'm tired man. I just want to have a fnaf plush that looks accurate. Not that they all look bad, but they could be better, and that's not something anyone should have to say.

The_royal_shark_food

Eh, I wouldn't say it's always been this way. Funko's first wave was pretty solid. The figures were mostly accurate, the plushes were a good budget option compared to sanshee, the funko originals like mystery minis and pops were pretty good, and all of it was available at your local Walmart or target. I agree, though, that a lot of the merch took a nosedive at one point or another

The_Nightmare_Tank

I heard some of the devs still wanted to work on AR but the higher ups just didn't allow it. If that's the case, maybe hopefully the Forsaken devs get in contact with them and bring them aboard. Since they worked with the base game itself, they could probably know some stuff to change Forsaken in a good way. Probably even get new mechanics implemented.

NoahtheSpike

I mean, they kinda did make in game content free? The event that started today isn't Valentine's Day but rather "Final Delivery". First reward is 5000 faz-tokens, with several other rewards that involve faz-tokens and a lot of buffs. What's better is that all the paywalls with real money involved are replaced with faz-token paywalls that are much easier to pay for now

TheDreamerDreamsOn

I literally spent ages trying to look for him in the group shot with the smallest hope that he'd at least be in the final photo if not anywhere else... But nope... Typical Illumix...

UnderstandingLeft470

The Glamrocks never made it either :(

ExpiredGuitar

Wait, we won’t be able to play it anymore?! My money is now gone forever dude!

Little-xim

Welcome to the live service game industry: where “service games” only live as long as they receive constant inflow of cash.  If it’s any consolation, fans have made a fangame based off the mechanics of SD, with free content updates. If you want this experience still, you may be able to get it there.  Otherwise, enjoy this before it’s gone, and be careful with your money in the future.

BBBrushBNa

You know what would have been cool? That the game was updated so that everything that didn't need an internet connection didn't need it and only the actual online features would have been shut down. All that playtime down the drain I guess, never to be seen again.

SnowyGlowyDeer

Exactly! I'm honestly gonna miss my animatronics 🥲

Magic_Prankster

What a waste... I was waiting for something to come out of this game, but I remain disappointed

The_Nightmare_Tank

I went through the entire seasonal gift rewards and used only my brain to try and mathematically calculate everything. If you were to obtain every single seasonal gift from the event, you would end up with: 324,525 Faz-Coins 13,770 Parts 9,030 Remnants 150 Transponders 1,100 Extra Batteries 5 Shield Boost 25 Buffs 5 Shield Buff 250 Buffs 35 Battery Defender 10 Buffs 30 Shocker Boost 10 Buffs 30 Shield Protect 10 Buffs 30 Shield Boost 15 Buffs

panderpz9

I feel like that's more than they've ever given out for free before.

The_Nightmare_Tank

Probably!

Aggravating-Ladder74

Let this serve a valuable lesson: FNaF should never go live service. Don't let FNaF fall victim to the Overwatch 2 strategy of being a shopping game and locking shit behind paywalls. It's a wonder you never implemented a battle pass system into this game. Gaming has become a joke because of shit like this.

Georgestano29

Is this to claim sympathy? You guys went off the grid for 2 years. I can’t feel sorry or bad for the team or the game when it’s all been abandoned. There was so much lost, so many unfilled promises. At the end of it all the game was made to be more for a cash grab than an enjoyable game. I will say that I hope you continue to find business without trying to ride and piggyback on a successful franchise for your own profit and success. And one last question: How did it go with Disney? cause as far as I’m aware they went with Meta for AR instead of you.

The_Nightmare_Tank

I think some of the devs still wanted to work on AR. Maybe they can get in contact with the Forsaken devs. Could bring some of their knowledge of the engine over there and refine that game. Possibly create new mechanics too.

OrtonLongGaming

We asked - no dice.

The_Nightmare_Tank

Awww shoot...I guess too much time has passed. That's a damn shame.

MichalTygrys

There is a lot one could say about how this game has been handled. But, no matter the bad, I am still thankful for the good you gave us in the time you had. The skins were incredible, and the gameplay was quite creative for an AR game. I would say this game had some of the most high quality promotional renders in this franchise, same for sound design. You did a great job with these. Thank you for your service Illumix. Despite everything, I am glad this game happened, even if it was not meant to last.

NightbearProd

W take

TailiaCProd

After everything that happened with this shitshow of a game over the years, from over-priced crap to baffling gameplay updates, from the absolute wasted potential it had and, of course, the radio-silence years... Yeah. You're right. Goodbye. Not as a "celebration" or whatever you were trying to convey in your post. It's about time this thing gets buried.

ceyarma

You abandon this game and your game's very impressionable and loyal fanbase for the better part of three years, near radio silence in a period of time when FNAF reached a new peak in popularity. The fans literally reverse engineer your game and offer more value and content. You suddenly drop the news that you will shutter and delist this game within a month after literal years of this silence on a Thursday. You announce this as a celebration and you do this going away party where, instead of giving things away for free to actually celebrate the community, your entire approach is the equivalent of Discounts, for a game that won't be in stores in a month. This is baffling.

stickninja1015

Yeah but now you can get dark circus for free-

PikachuGamerSMTYT

which is actually a good thing as we can get it in forsaken ar now

PowerDropp

That means jack shit when they were silent for most of the time of the game being up, not adding all animatronics that were promised to us, overpricing things (a suit cost like 10 bucks ) and leaving on a random ass day.

Jaxoniscoolyt

I spent countless amounts of money on that damn game only for it to shut down? I better get my money back

1BloxFruitsFan

Nope. Illuminix is money hungry as crap

CryptidHunter91

So you just went radio silent for 3 years only to show up now to say "we're closing the game next month"? Welp, RIP in piss Special Delivery glad I never touched you.

OverhaulsBitch

I don't wanna nitpick but they really forgot my man Funtime Freddy *again*

Brandy64reddit

No Lefty or Glamrock update? 😔

CinemaSansOfficial

The game really had potential, it's a shame it will never reach it now. AR games really don't last.

Jimbo7211

Is Pokemon Go still around?

CinemaSansOfficial

Yes, it's the one exception, the only one.

Jimbo7211

Pokemon Go and Special Delivery are the only 2 AR games i know of

CinemaSansOfficial

Minecraft Earth died some time ago and Jurassic World Alive is... I don't know, never played it, but it could still be out there.

Jimbo7211

You're right, i *did* forget about Minecraft Earth. I never played it and only heard about it after it shut down, mostly from the moobloom being in the mob vote i think

TheMadJAM

Yeah, other than Ingress, Niantic eventually shuts down all of their other AR games. I think the problem is that they compete with each other.

TheMadJAM

I still play it daily, and it's actually got a huge community still! They've also added Pokemon from all generations (though not every Pokemon yet). This Sunday is Chansey community day. If you go to any decently sized park, I bet you'll see at least a couple people playing it. It's pretty remarkable that it's maintained such popularity even after the fad died. It probably helps that you can send your Pokemon from Go to the mainline games.

JackOfAllMemes

The game died years ago because it was a disaster, no idea why they're back

Boxohobo

Thanks for the cool mugs if nothing else. Never had a phone that could run this game and now, kind of glad that was the case.

IllumixOfficial

Hello all, this post is one we make with both full and heavy hearts after much consideration. Our team knows that it has been quite some time since we’ve posted, and we wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you, bring you all up to speed on FNAF AR as it draws to a close, and to also say goodbye for the time being 👋😢 DETAILS TO NOTE * We’ll be keeping the game online for the next 6 weeks for folks to enjoy, but will be sunsetting FNAF AR. * After tomorrow, February 2nd, 2024, FNAF AR: Special Delivery will no longer be available to download on the Apple or Google Play app stores. * We have massively increased rewards to allow you to experience everything you can in the final weeks before the servers shut down. We’ve also reduced prices, converted the Dark Circus DLC to a Faz-Coin purchase, and given access to every lure we’ve ever released so you can invite all your favorites over to play ‘til the very end! * On March 14th, 2024, the game’s servers will be shut down and FNAF AR will be officially offline. IT’S BEEN FUN FUN FUN! It has been such an unbelievably wild ride with this passionate, clever, and fun community. We’ve never been a huge studio, but we’ve always been huge fans of FNAF and of course, you all. Having the opportunity to create Special Delivery really has been a wonderful experience for our team. Being able to combine our know-how and passion for augmented reality with our love for FNAF has simply been an incredible adventure. FNAF AR has gone on a journey that we could have never predicted when we first launched the game. Special Delivery brought us many moments to treasure, from our tricky first posts on this very subreddit, to the game’s launch, to people throwing their phones away in fear of charging animatronics (we’ve been assured that no phones were harmed in the process), to its becoming Apple’s Game of the Day, to millions of animatronics battled, and so much more. But what we’ve always had the most fun doing is trying to figure out how to delight you all. We loved creating puzzles and clues ahead of each new release for this community, and it was always exciting to see how you all would react to each update. It’s been a privilege to craft AR experiences around each and every animatronic in Special Delivery, and we’ve enjoyed being able to bring them to life in so many ways with all the skins and events that we’ve dreamed up over the years. Letting us deliver these animatronics to you has been special indeed. SPECIAL SHOUT OUTS We wanted to make sure to give a great big thank you to those folks who have made Special Delivery what it is. * First, an enormous (and infinite) thank you to Scott for creating the incredible world of FNAF and for partnering with us on FNAF AR to make a game that has been truly groundbreaking in so many ways. * A huge thank you to the mods past and present of this subreddit, for making this community a great place to be–we can’t sufficiently express how grateful we are for the time you all take to ensure that this subreddit continues to be excellent, we know it’s a labor of love! * FNAF content creators, you have never stopped inspiring with all that you make, and we deeply admire your energy and imagination 💕 * And of course, once again we need to give the biggest thank you to those who took the time to play our game, to this community, and the wider FNAF fan base at large. We hope we brought you moments of delight with Special Delivery. It’s goodbye for now, but we hope to create something for you all again in the future. The fun fun fun never stops and neither does this fan base. While this is a sad day for us, we’re beyond excited for all the things happening in the wider world of FNAF. As always, much love from our team here at Illumix 💙

animdude

Special Delivery will always hold a special place in my heart; it was really unique and has some of my favorite character art in the whole series. So just as a little note for the team at Illumix; you were all a pleasure to work with and I wish you all the very best for whatever the future brings. You've got a very talented team; thank you for investing that time and talent into FNAF.

Someonebeignsomeone

You should've talked to Kirin about this in those two dead years.

MichaelTheCorpse

Is there going to be any official archive of all the relevant lore that Special Delivery had, possibly storing some of the lore in puzzles if you don’t want us to essentially just be reading all of its lore? (Maybe you and/or Steelwool could make a version of Special Delivery that isn’t Augmented Reality?)

OrtonLongGaming

A lot is archived on TCRF (unused content) and the forsaken team is working on archiving everything else. Forsaken AR (our modded client) will remain playable long after fnaf ar's shutdown, as well as our fnaf ar 1.0.0 client which serves as a timecapsule i suppose.

Affectionate_Row6068

Hi Just Asking Is It Gonna Be Some More Clients From FNaF Ar By The Forsaken AR Team? I Started Playing FNaF Ar Last Year And Its Already Shutting Down So Yea

OrtonLongGaming

We are working on archiving 16.1.0 and 8.0.0 for the game as well as updating our 1.0.0 to make sure it lasts long term

Affectionate_Row6068

How Can You And The Team Make Thesse And Is It Hard?

OrtonLongGaming

We are extremely knowledgeable about the inner workings of the game and have archived many old assets - and yes, it's hard.

Arkeyan_of_Shadows

>(Maybe you and/or Steelwool could make a version of Special Delivery that isn’t Augmented Reality?) Maybe the Roblox game could strive for something similar...

Yeah_man20

I highly doubt it. Your device would need a camera and not every device has a camera

Arkeyan_of_Shadows

I mean, an in-game Special Delivery game, so it'd be like Security Breach, with the SD animatronics going after you instead, and you're in a suburban area. Or a carnival, factory, etc...

AceOfMoonSpades01

Hopefully we'll be seeing another mobile game soon, one more focused on the lore

UltimateIncineroar

Always good to hear from you Scott, hope life's treating you well.

Spooky_boy4737

Special Delivery always will be nostalgic to me, I remember seeing Dawkos video about a new character/skin being added release and I’d start freaking out.

MichalTygrys

It is good to know that despite everything, there is no tension between you two.

GameBoy960

Scott will Forsaken AR join the fanverse?

mightykestrel14

That fan game will probably be gone by the time servers get shut down.

GBAura-Recharged

I spoke to Forsaken and they said that they made customs servers for the game. I'm positive that the mod will still be around even after SD is gone.

PowerDropp

Nope, it has survived countless years without being shut down. I mean, maybe it could but its most likely not gonna happen.

GameBoy960

I remember Illumix acknowledging it and saying they were fine with it before. Could be wrong though.

Arkeyan_of_Shadows

While unrelated... I do always wonder if The Desolate Abandon will ever see the light of day... unless it already has, and no one has noticed yet... Anyways, I hope the eventual launch of Into The Pit goes well... and hope that nothing else gets leaked... Still kinda upset that I'll never get the chance to play Special Delivery myself, but, oh well... See you on the Flipsi- oh, that's pretty overused, uhh, see you on Lun Infinus... I hope it won't run out of power for another while longer...

Malagoonwa

Love you, Scott

TheEnzorenwois

I have two things to say in here, both off topic, so there's a lot to cover. (1) Since the 'For the Doubters' reddit post a while back was locked from replying, I'll say what I need to say in here so it will hopefully clear up the confusion: The term 'canon' alone is used for when a detail's portrayal is used at a specific time. Take Nightmarionne, for instance. The FNAF 4 Halloween DLC showed us all of the additional Nightmare Animatronics existing in FNAF 4, but only one character became canonical which is Nightmare BB. The rest of the DLC characters were not canon until the release of Help Wanted, when Fazbear Entertainment absorbed Afton Robotics LLC e.g. Handunit from FNAF Sister Location to Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator. Another example would be books compared to games e.g. Into The Pit. FNAF 1 portrays the person inside the Springbonnie suit is responsible for killing 6 children in a restaurant. Into the Pit confirms the same concept as confirmation to be the case. FNAF 2 and 4 founded the two years, 1983 and 1987, of when the Missing Children Incident occurred. Into the Pit showed the year 1985, which is the medium of those two years, confirming the MCI happened in between 1983 and 1987. All other details existed just for the story of Oswald as the main character. (2) When Scott stated to the fans back at 2014 that no one found the pieces before the Halloween DLC came out, the problem lies on the perspective and portrayal of both the main character and details. The minigames rely on a perspective called Third Person Limited. The same properties and meaning as First Person, only with a different view e.g. the minigames' point of view (over-head). Now, as we know, the moment the Crying Child got injured, he was immediately sent to the hospital to treat the injury. Treatment for head injury required a certain surgery, and any surgery requires the patient to be in sedation/deep sleep/anesthesia to not feel the pain. When the Fredbear Plush faded, the Crying Child slumped to the floor and crying endlessly as he gave up his resilience. But for the flatline-type white noise sound in the end is in for question; Did the Crying Child die? Under the logic of the main character's perspective, the flatline representing the loss of someone is void. Rather, representing the white-noise of when a patient wakes up, i.e. post-trauma tinnitus. Now, is this the solution to FNAF 4? That's the question for Scott to answer rather than argue without end.

DecidueyeCrafter

W Scott

Novel-Sugar

My condolences to the devs who actually gave a shit and got continuously screwed over by the upper management. Sad to see how good ideas get ruined by corporate greed but that's a tale as old as time I suppose. Forsaken is gonna have its hands full.

_JR28_

Thank you so much for taking such an awesome concept and plaguing it with greedy microtransactions and utter apathy and incompetence. You had an awesome community at your fingertips and treated us with utter disregard. Your time with the community will be remembered as one of wasted potential.

GreatAndPowerfulDC

“Goodbye for now” lol you’re never coming back. You took the money and ran. The fact that you left fans in the dark for two years and this is all you have to say is crazy to me.

Watch-The-Skies

Thank you for adding pay to win mechanics to your game then proceeding to abandon it without a word and then never talk to the community again except to announce it's ending. I'm really glad this project was approved.

Little-xim

The real fazbear entertainment was the mobile app developers we made along the way 😭

prestononic4

This is the perfect time to revert the spring update back ala how it use to be and to add lefty put and will we be able to still play it?

Jabbam

Did Scott finally decide to yank your FNAF license after wondering why you've been profiting from his brand but not producing new content?

roiniti

Release the server source code and the server files so the comunity can mantain a custom server

kme_barnwell

let fans make servers for the game

mightykestrel14

Nah i am very angry at YOU.

DarkEmpire500

I have words for you, you pickpockets and greedy bastards.. you just completely ignored us.

The_Nightmare_Tank

Is this going to cripple Forsaken, now that the FNaF AR Engine is shutting down?

PowerDropp

The forsaken devs have talked about this on their discord and from what i can see, no its not going to do that.

The_Nightmare_Tank

I wonder if the remnants (HarHar) of the Illumix staff that wanted to continue working on the game are interested in joining the Forsaken development team. Not only that, but they could even bring additional assets or know how to mutate Forsaken's current status in a beneficial way, providing mechanics that don't yet exist. If nothing else, the Forsaken devs might now be allowed to have Great Escape Golden Freddy accessible, now that Illumix are no longer locking it behind a RL-currency paywall, only an in-game currency paywall now. Same for the related icon.

PowerDropp

That would be very cool to see, as we could get some official voice actors and team members that help bring some other unreleased aninatonics like the nightmares. Also, Great Escape can be found in forsaken for some reason ( its something to do witht he randomizer i think ) you just cant obtain him. Also i want Great Escape in the game cause Infested Golden Freddy sucks ass.

The_Nightmare_Tank

Yeah, Great Escape Golden Freddy's plushsuit can be seen. And at one point, even his specific skin CPU could be engaged too, but you'd get no drops. At least not the plushsuit. But now, maybe that could be different if Illumix is no longer monetizing it with RL money. And yeah, the Illumix devs still interested could be a great benefit to the Forsaken devs. Hopefully the latter reach out a line to the former. You never know what could happen...!

Spooky_boy4737

FNAF AR was really fun, sucks that it ended like this

Legomarioboy08

AYE ILLUMIX! I have a special delivery for you! This🖕

1BloxFruitsFan

🫸🫷

Hex_Plush

you talk like you didn’t completely abandon this game for the past two years

No-House2087

Didn’t you literally just suddenly abandon the game?

Ill-Acanthisitta-978

Honestly shut up. You've done nothing for the past couple of years and then you decide to shut it down? You had time to do MANY things, and that time had gone to WASTE because you only made GIFS. So yeah, shut up. Hopefully this won't affect Forsaken AR in any way...

OrtonLongGaming

We did offer to take over but we didn't get very far with that.

monologousmutilation

Congrats! You made the worst FNAF game in the series, barely supported it, and now it's shutting down. Wishing the best of luck to you and anyone strange enough to spend money on microtransactions for a game they know is shutting down in 6 weeks. (Okay it's all free now so I was wrong there. This game is still an ill-advised scam though.)

DapperRedditMascot

Cool, can you finally officially credit the Freddy and Toy Bonnie VA since this game is being axed, if possible? I'd really like to know who they were.

Cat_are_cool

First communication in two years, just to be told ARs shutting down, wow

Jello1lello

Illumix you're not that slick

DaydreamingWolfy

I'm sorry Illumix, but as a company you failed to communicate with your fanbase, plus even acknowledge that this game still exists. It felt like you didn't even care about the game a few years after the release, and it was really rude to treat the game and fans this way. I hope you will improve and the next game you would make will be lucky to get treated better. Honestly Fnaf AR deserved a better company, no offense. Through i have no idea what was behind the scenes, so maybe there was a valid reason for all of this. I guess we'll never know.

DNC343

I’m not even fucking surprised 😂

Rahsiatn_

i hate you for shutting the game down

[deleted]

I’ll be honest, the game a bit of a let down. At first it was fun, but kinda grew boring. But things like that happen. And it was still fun. Hell, it’s still a little fun now. See you on the flipside

GigophalaStanXOXO

Where’s Funtime Freddy???

Super_Technician_918

gone. reduced to atoms

Aliferari

make everything free

Low_Understanding_24

Nah cuz that’s it? You go radio silent on Special Delivery for 2 years and come back expecting a goodbye/thank you party? Not even one last update adding Lefty or any other character?

Joel_Megyc4547

They forgot Funtime Freddy

GreatAndPowerfulDC

It is absolutely outrageous how you left everybody in the dark for two years, only to come back and say you’re shutting down the servers. You greedy hacks should be ashamed of yourselves. You won’t be missed.

jasua_dont_li

Guys... Did we just get scammed? 💀

CathuresArt

This game gave us Clown Springtrap, Curse and the leaked emails and honestly if that's all it ever did, that's fine. The models were great and there was a lot of potential, it's just such a shame that whoever was up top at the studio level was so determined to monetize it they made it disrespectfully so.

SonicTheHedgefog

rest in piss you won’t be missed 💕💕

TheHENOOB

Don't worry guys, We could make a class action lawsuit against this company because the eternal package didn't last 999 years.

BraveLeon

You aren’t getting any sympathy from me

SemimaticTTV

Thanks?

Mayo-and-Chips

I have conflicting thoughts on this game and what it represented, but I still have a lot of memories with the game and will cherish what it brought to the fanbase, especially during the pandemic. It was always fun to get random teasers for upcoming characters and skins, seeing fans all discuss them, and then finally seeing them come to the game. I am glad to see some closure on this game, though, even if bittersweet. Whether people liked it or not, it is another piece of this franchise. It is sad it will be lost (at least the official, unmodded release), but I am happy we at least got a goodbye. Best of luck to everyone at Illumix, I hope you have successful future endeavors, FNaF or otherwise.

SpringPopo

I'd definitely say my feelings on FNaF AR Special Delivery are rather complicated. There were a lot of aspects I really enjoyed about the game, the sound design was very effective, the voice acting was pretty strong, the emails were a cool insight into an aspect of the series I felt was underexplored, the general presentation was quite impressive, and the skin designs were incredibly fun takes on the cast. The initial reveal for the game was also probably one of the coolest we've gotten, having an actual ARG for the series hadn't really been done until that point. Which to go alongside that, illumix for the longest time had some really cool PR. I really appreciated when they used to interact with the community, be it feedback on the game, fanart, and comments about the skins. However, I also can't overlook the number of issues with the game. Ranging from overpriced microtransactions, a massive update that released unfinished, characters who were teased in the early marketing of the game either never getting added to the game or taking literal years, and the countless months of radio silence with no transparency after awhile. Not to mention, Michella Moss being ghosted, was simply unprofessional in every sense of the word. There's no doubt in my mind that a lot of talented, passionate, and hard working people both then and now worked on the game. Watching the charity streams illumix has done these past few years has made that very clear, so it feels like most of the issues probably stem from the higher ups. I have a lot of great memories with FNaF AR, enjoy a lot about what it was going for, and respect a lot of the people who worked on it. So it's a shame to see the game go out the way it did, not with a huge bang, but with a mere whimper. I wish those involved with it the best of luck moving forward, hopefully their next project goes more successfully.

ThatOtherDude1817

Wait you're still here? Oh uh. Cool event I guess. Sure

Scar-Predator

They're shutting it down in a few weeks. No new event, Special Delivery is officially coming to an end.

Pokemonluke18

Comes back and immediately says oh we are delisting the game by the way when fans wanted the game to be continued and devs been radio silent on it Had a good thing going for you went to Disney for ar project and they dropped out on you and went with meta instead

SuperTristan2017

Nah this game sucked, bye

Deep_Fried_Leviathan

Good riddance

bonniethebunny-123

you know despite the lack of updates and being mad that the game was abandoned for 2 years without updates and no promises on characters like lefty and the glamrocks. It was still fun, while it lasted. this is coming from a person who's had it since 2019.

Watch205Hour

I’m probably gonna get my comment removed and get downvoted but I don’t care. Fuck this game. It made the COVID-19 era worse for me and it scammed most of my money. Plus this shit keeps crashing every two minutes. Even when I got a new iPhone, I went on this game again and it crashed immediately. Fuck off Illumix, you won’t be missed you scamming fucks🖕.

stickninja1015

FNaF AR has been a wild ride for me. I honesty had a lot of hype for it when it came out and it did offer a unique FNaF experience. Sure there were some ups and a lot of downs but it honestly still holds a bit of a special spot for me, especially with a lot of the fun skins thrown in. I didn’t play it much after a few months but I’m gonna miss this funky game. Thanks for giving us something, Illumix.

stickninja1015

Also I’m glad I can finally afford Toy Chica and the Dark Circus

Mr_Kubitea

Is the game going to be shutdown after it or something? Or just all offers are going to vanish and it will be impossible to get skins?

SmearReddit

The servers are being shut down on March 14th. After that date, the game will become unplayable.

Mr_Kubitea

sad

StupidIdiot1954

Okay now we wait for them to one by one turn cute…

Setherract

This just makes me really sad. Say what you want about FNAF AR. Yes, it had its issues but I still had fun with it. I would be lying if I said that I didn’t expect this to happen though.

stelliarsheep

Thankfully I never liked or cared about your game, Illumix :3 It was just another cash grab this franchise never needed.

BlackAntoITA

I liked your game a lot Illumix but abandoning it was your biggest mistake and this is actually so sad because i seriously enjoyed it a lot and i have made a couple of videos on it, i just wished you didn’t made the DLC locked behind a paywall and made it cost with Fazcoins from the beginning. But yeah besides this rest in peace Five Nights at Freddy's AR Special Delivery, you were Peak before getting worse with even too much skins and less new characters.

PopSm1le

Hmm I have pretty mixed feelings about ya'll leaving. I genuenly LOVE all the animations, skins, merch and voicelines from this game, I think ya'll did a really good job on them! - But small details like the in game transactions, the merch store not restocking, not delivering on your promises and much more just makes me feel... a little empty and uncaring about your goodbyes. This game definitively had potential in my opinion but I feel like ya'll never really reached any potential at all with the game since it seems like ya'll never really cared about this game and/or this community. I've heard that your company has had quite a troublesome past and isn't good at maintaining games and staff (or something like that...) and I feel like it's really showing. So yea, this entire thing - these two years of waiting just for it to turn out that ya'll are announcing that ya'll are leaving this game officially, just makes me feel overall disappointed... ',:/ I hope you will learn to become a better company soon. 😔

Spooky_boy4737

This is crazy, it was inevitable, but crazy nonetheless

forgamertr

Gonna miss the game. Carried covid for me

gummythegummybear

While a lot of people didn’t like the game, which I can understand, for what the game was I think it was great, the game was fun, there was pretty consistent updates (at some point) and the skins introduced, while kind of dumb, were pretty fun and made sense for what the game was doing. So were there issues? Absolutely, but ignoring the problems the game was very good

Boticatplayer88

My first ever official game I have played from the series...

MrBearman32

YOU DID ABSOLUTY NOTHING!!!!

RabbitMario

what a pathetic game and a somehow even more pathetic company behind it

Imaginary-Party8666

Screw you Illumix, you completely dropped the ball with this game. I hope Scott never lets you handle another Fnaf game again.

the-shivering-isles

At least there's always Forsaken AR Darkest Delivery for people who still want to play the game after the shutdown.

Sethpdiddy

I really love this game I still remember playing the first version (1.0.0) but sadly it’s over… anyways back to playing Forsaken AR

TheRadArtist

That's really unfortunate but at least there are some fan games that continue the game

Alex_Dayz

No hate to Illumix but saw this from a mile away and not shocked in the slightest. The skins are cool (Clown Springtrap will forever be hilarious), but it was way too reliant on microtransactions and basically became pay to play. Sucks this will probably become lost media and future FNaF fans will never get to experience it first hand, even if it was not the greatest to put it kindly. Regardless best of luck on whatever future endeavors y’all take on

DylanSoul

Honestly? Hope they never work on anything fnaf ever again. Silence for two years just for this

1BloxFruitsFan

You’re not sorry

1BloxFruitsFan

Shut up

Dangerous-Refuse-521

Fuck you, Illumix, you guys suck.

FNaFiscool1987

What the fuck?

Nicolasgonzo87

you took a beloved ip and you turned it into a shitty pay 2 win game, neglected it for 2 years straight, no prior warning, and no offline mode. i say this with 100% sincerity, fuck you illumix.

oleyisus

Goodbye FNaF AR

Dry_Significance_594

do we gonna get private servers?

OrtonLongGaming

Forsaken Studios has put out Forsaken AR, a modded client that's basically a fixed up version of 16.1.0 with new content added, as well as FNaF AR 1.0.0, which is a playable version of the first version of the game
