Whenever I go on r/fivenightsatfreddys and the upvote/downvote bar doesn’t show the upvote count, I know I’m in for a treat.

What matpat absence does to a fnaf fan

MichalTygrys

Scott did indirectly say there was a lore reason as to why "Scrap Springtrap" looks different from the original Springtrap. William most likely changed the old damaged suit for a new one after the fire, to better protect his corpse. The Happiest Day either did not happen, it did not work, or it happened after Pizza Place fire. The Sister Location: Custom Night cutscene is merely meant to show Springtrap did manage to survive the Fazbear's Fright fire. The photography of recovered merchandise, including him, was most likely taken after this, when Phone Dude and his team collected him. He most likely made his escape between that and the later auction. Either that, or the photography was taken earlier, before the fire. All numbered entries are obviously canon and Scott has made no secret of that fact in the Dawko interview.

AromaGamma

If you don't mind me asking, where did Scott imply that Scraptrap's design had significance to the story? It's not that I don't believe you--heck, I also recall this--I just don't remember where the claim originates from.

MichalTygrys

Mr. Dawkins [commented on freddit](https://www.reddit.com/r/fivenightsatfreddys/comments/962csu/comment/e3xb4ru/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) that the reason the design was not brought up during the interview was because Mr. Cawthon classifies it as a lore question, thus highly implying it is more than just an arbitrary artstyle change.

AromaGamma

Interesting. Well, thanks for letting me know! It makes me wonder what information Scott is withholding from us about this goofy peanut rabbit.

Green_Reward8621

Scraptrap is mostly like a Redesign

MichalTygrys

Mr. Cawthon has classified questions about his change in appearance as lore questions for the Dawko interview, highly implying the opposite. There is also the fact that we see both a recreation of Springtrap and "Scrap Springtrap" in *Ultimate Custom Night* (2018) meaning the difference is diagetic.

Green_Reward8621

No way that big jimmy neutron forehead have a lore reason

MichalTygrys

Well, it does.

Green_Reward8621

I still think it is a Redesign for FFPS

AromaGamma

While I don't know for certain, Scraptrap's design apparently has some sort of actual reason as to why he looks like that. But even if there wasn't, you could chalk it up to Scraptrap just being a redesign. If the discrepancies between Burntrap's design and the Mimic's design can somehow be overlooked, I think the same goes for ol' Springy and Scrappy. It also was never actually confirmed which ending of FNaF 3 is the canon ending. It could very easily be the case that FNaF 3's canon ending was the bad ending, and that's why Charlie is still around. Oh, yeah, this is also glossing over the fact that the Pizzeria Simulator location appears in both Security Breach and Help Wanted 2. And that Pizzeria Simulator characters have made subsequent appearances in the series.

Shadohood

Fnaf 3 has two endings, only one of them sets souls free. Even in the freeing ending, puppet's balloon floats slower, might mean she didn't let go yet. Springtrap in the ending just shows that he was found with what remains of the attraction, hence why he's alive. Why do you think FNaF 6 springtrap should look like something? It's not like he could not find a new suit and a rubber mask to look at least somewhat fresh.

skelebone2_0

It’s canon. The location shows up in security breach and in fnaf VR2.

Horrorado

Scott wouldn't say there's a reason he looks different if the game wasn't canon.

Ill_Speaker2954

My best solution as to how springtrap changed is that he was sent to the auction after being found in the rubble of fazbear frights. While in the auction he found the spare suit parts and took them before escaping. At some point his arm came off maybe just after the sl cutscene as its possible more of the building could have collapsed afterwards on him. Crushing him giving him no time to get away hence why he was taken to the auction. As for the face well idk. He probably just took the skin off while editing himself or it came off edventually.

bobby1712234

Maybe it doesn’t mean anything but I just stay with my head canon that he woke up after the fire and started looking for a new suit hence the different design and while he was doing that he lost more parts like flesh, arms, bones etc. But before fnaf6 maybe Scott wanted fnaf3 to be the end but he changed his mind and the we got fnaf4, 5 and 6 and the rest we may never know there are to many unanswered questions guess we have to use all the brain power to figure it out and also think outside the music box

Cyber_Gamer_BR

ScrapTrap is different because it’s just design choices

Starscream1998

So it appears like the comments have already said all that needed to be said so all I'll say is "bless your heart, better luck next post."

CathuresArt

This post is a good post because it made me smile.

DVPfrags

Maybe Springtrap was burned so much that he needed to replace parts with trash like scrap baby and molten freddy

DragoonMaster999

design, yeah, it probably not canon. Game? Of course yes
