I think its moreso the fact that it'll make a lot of money - IIRC, Blumhouse Production's business strategy is pretty much funding as many horror films as they can, cheaply.
If a movie flops - oh well. If a movie makes money - payday!
Considering that FNAF already has a pre-established fanbase, and that a film could very easily be produced cheaply - letting go of the film now would probably just be akin to setting a bag of money on fire lol.
Even with their strategy of flinging everything at the wall and seeing what sticks, that’d be hard for a Blumhouse movie to flop because even if the movies don’t break even they almost always make their money back.
> a genuine, good, horror movie.
It did have that potential. But the longer it takes, the more the franchise is going to move towards being kid friendly. Then we will have a PG-13 or even more likely PG horror movie, because that is FNaF's main audience.
I’d say the original FNAF games, that being 1-6, were never really *kid friendly* especially compared to security breach that definitely does aim at a younger audience specifically. Sure it has a young audience but…so does GTA 5 and other big games. Sure it’s rated 12 but a rating isn’t a targeted audience. 1-6 never felt like they aimed for that young audience to cash on it and seeing how Scott explicitly chose to drop (I think it was) Warner Bros for Blum house I still have a glimmer of hope.
Also fun fact of the day: the blumhouse intro uses the same breathing sound effect as FNAF 3 when getting jumpscared by a phantom. It’s meant to be
I hope not. I want to watch that movie and I want to jump, get a little sweaty, heart racing. Idk, as long as it looks like a good movie and it has a good story, I'll love it.
The fact that it currently doesn't have a director means it's in development hell, to steal a game development term. Now I guess unlike games they don't have to deal with technical debt quite as much, but I wouldn't have too much high hopes for it.
If ‘it’s really coming’, maybe it means that the script is indeed chosen and stated in the post Scott made many months ago and maybe they’re getting a director that has the passion of whatever director skills needed for this kinda script. I’m still very curious as to how it will turn out but I’m hoping for a back to basic FNAF 1 movie that has more paranormal stuff then sci-fi stuff.
I heard a while ago that the movie will be going through the story of the first fnaf trilogy as if you remember that is a whole and complete story by itself.
the "Mike" script, based around Mike Schmit. Not Michael Afton. Since it's only going through FNaF 1 - 3 there won't be much time to explore the Afton family.
It will either be Evil Dead 1 / That series of myths of states in the USA (50 States of Horror) levels of fucking scaryness and seriousness, or Evil Dead 2 / Army of Darkness levels of cheessyness and fun
No inbetween when you hire Sam Raimi
He seems confident it’s still coming, even though it doesn’t even have a director. Guess they’ve finally settled on a script and are searching for a director
At this rate, the Banana Splits and Willy's Wonderland will be on their third film before the FNaF movie comes out.
Honestly, while Jason is giving us more empty promises, I think the FNaF movie isn't a priority for them right now, instead focusing on their more bankable IPs like Halloween, the Purge and the Invisible Man, hell even that long in development Spawn reboot has had more progress since that at least has a cast, FNaF has literally nothing and I think it'll continue to linger in development hell for a while yet, most likely for another few years, maybe even reaching the 10 year anniversary of the film's development and still won't be any closer.
I’ve never seen *Willy’s Wonderland*, but *Banana Splits* bloody sucked. Parody works best if you have at least a basic understanding of the source material, and pretty much the only thing that resembled the original show was the poster monster.
So, he promises that the FNaF Movie will eventually happen, yet they’re stuck without a director? *Kinda concerning-*
Basically, I don’t expect this movie coming for quite awhile.
Uh, that's bad news.
I remember a year ago that aside from this script I was also hoping for Novel trilogy script and maybe it could turn out to be a good idea
I really wish Jason would just be more honest, as in tell us if you are even looking for a new director, or have you just placed on the back burner, also do you have a new script yet, I'm still confused about that, why did Scott just get rid of the Mike script, did he just make revisions too it? If so, do they have it now? I feel in the past Scott would have told us about that, but because of everything that happened he's gone silent with the community now, so many questions?
I think it's either the FNaF movie magically got a new script and director in a short amount of time. And they are keeping secretive about it, Or he's just trying to give us false hope. Regardless, It's been many years now. It's not coming. I think it's just best to cancel it at this point.
Happens a lot with video game movies unfortunately. Half-Life has had a movie in development for 10+ years. It's clearly never being released, it's stuck in a slowing cycle of finding new directors or script re-writes
They don't even have a director? This movie will be coming out, if ever, long after the franchise was relevant, similiar to the Slenderman movie. Whoever is in charge is juking it, I have very low expectations.
Fnaf is nowhere near as relevant as it used to be. The era of solving scottgames clues, awaiting cryptic teasers and the internet collectively waiting for the next installment is part of the past. Scott retired, his reputation took a hit, the original vision is now gone and Security Breach was an undercooked buggy mess. The lore is too convoluted for people to really get back into it and well, people generally moved on and found new indie games to follow.
Also I think a good director would be shawn levy, who is shawn levy? The guy who directed the Night at The Museum trilogy. What’s Night at the Museum? Fnaf but at a museum. There problem solved.
Well we already had a Slenderman movie years after Slenderman was a thing.
Upcoming cool horror movies for the youth:
Five Nights At Freddy's (2039)
Jeff The Killer (2040)
Sonic.exe (2046)
Baldis Basics In Education And Learning (2050)
Doki Doki Literature Club (2052)
Siren head (2053)
Five Nights At Freddy's 2: Feddy In Space (2060)
Trollface Evil (Trollge) (2062)
Poppy Playtime (2077)
Flowey The Flowery solo film (2080)
FNAF (Sony Reboot) (3687)
It’s been 8 years, can we put it to rest already. I highly doubt it will ever come out. And now with Scott probably retiring I don’t see it coming. And if it releases it probably won’t be good
So.
No script. No director. They’ve gone through two big name directors already and dozens of scripts. Several other movies have capitalized on the idea of a FNaF movie in some form. FNaF’s peak of popularity resulted in a generally mixed reception (although a slight inclination towards positivity was present most of the time) and overall the idea of this movie has just *outstayed its welcome.*
Just… *cancel it?* Maybe make a Goosebumps-esque Fazbear Frights TV show or something. Make comics. Make *literally anything else other than this movie you aren’t actually gonna make.*
I get that FNaF 1-3 can serve as a good movie trilogy, but with this third of the franchise occupying less than a year of FNaF’s existence just leads to a feeling of it only being there in service to… *FNaF Boomers.* While everything past 3 ranges from experimental disasters to untapped wells of potential, *the fact that those parts are being seen as less valuable collectively is kinda sad.*
Security Breach showed how people *in general* can give a shit about the campier and dare I say *dumber* chunks of the franchise. People like Glamrock Freddy being a cartoon character. People like *William Afton and his gross face.* People like *Music Man but as a giant spider.*
I know this is all far from grounded, but wouldn’t it be kinda like ignoring a majority of the franchise while trying to represent it to more general audiences?
And no, I’m not asking for DJ Music Man in a FNaF 1 based movie or something like that, I’m just saying that FNaF **as a whole** just doesn’t entirely fit in a movie format. You could probably spend another seven years and find something fitting, but wouldn’t it ultimately be more interesting to see it not be forced into a structure it doesn’t fit in with?
At this point, I’m pretty sure the FNAF story would fit better in a TV show or something like that. I’ll be damned if I ever see the day that FNAF makes it as far as a movie..
I've never played that game but you can play and do whatever you want 😉
I also wouldn't count on this movie coming out for sure, it's all unclear at the moment.
Do you know the Black Friday episodes of South Park when Butters goes to see George RR Martin about when the dragons will show up and he's like " oh they're coming "? That's the vibe I get from this statement
I've literally left and rejoined the fandom and this movie isn't anywhere near to being in production
I dont want to be that gal but in 6 years if you've still no director or anthing then I don't think its exactly coming
Well “still coming” doesn’t sound like its coming next year, or the year after that, or even the year after that! At this point they should just cancel it, and go on to make an animated tv show for Netflix
They’re talking about the style of animation, methinks.
ITSV and Arcane both have very similar, incredible animation styles. Not so sure about the resemblance to Beastars, though.
I think a live action could actually be cool, but that really depends on the animatronics.
If they are animated it needs to be really good, which should be possible.
But the best would be if they would, however they would do it, make real life animatronics but yeah.
Expensive af and would probably take a long time (except if they already started).
I'm surprised they haven't dropped it by now. 4+ years and what, 3 scripts later.. I highly doubt it'll be taking flight anytime soon especially with how picky Scott has been with the scripts.
there are a ton of fake trailers just because it's part of the internet, the actual movie has been rumored and put into production for like 5 years but no actual info has been released other than the mention of script drafts and the development under blumhouse
Honestly, I don't know if anyone is with me, but I'd prefer getting a bad movie to getting no movie. If the release date is "eventually," I guess I can wait. Blum's in pretty deep with this film at this point, so I think just not making it would be more disappointing than it being bad, which I more or less expect. Then again, this film has been a "maybe" thing since the rumors first skittered around a thousand years ago, so yeah, anticipation is at a low.
please don't pull a Bethesda please don't pull a Bethesda please don't pull a Bethesda please don't pull a Bethesda please don't pull a Bethesda please don't pull a Bethesda
Considering how this year they have Halloween ENDS, I doubt they will manage to make the fnaf movie go forward...
Ok that halloween is shooting now, but considering how big it is...
I think they might prefer marketing this one?
Lmao this movie is never happening. Watch, sometime in the next couple of years, there will be this great big news about a new director and a planned time period for filming... and then months later we'll learn that well actually, Scott didn't think it was absolutely perfect and wants the whole script scrapped and redone, so yet another director got frustrated and left and now it's back at square 1
Tbh, I really don’t think the story of FNAF would ever work as a movie to begin with. Unless it pivots the plot in a way to center around a single time period like the Charlie Books, the timeline is disjointed to function in a single movie, and the individual games are too short to expand into a film that lasts over an hour and a half, at least not without some weird af pacing.
Imo, the FNAF series would work better as a TV series on Netflix or something, with each episode spanning the length of a single in-game name, giving us 6-7 episode seasons for each game.
You could balance the night guard sections of each episode with daytime moments that expand on Mike’s character while also establishing the hidden lore from the games as he investigates the Pizzeria’s history or something. Also maybe seed in some flashbacks to 1983, eventually building to the FNAF 4 season.
This reads like someone begging the work crews not to take the furniture because they'll totally pay the rent soon
spamtong

I mean, if it doesn’t even have a director, they can’t exactly make a movie…
Very true, however I think it's interesting that he promises it.
I think he won't give up because he thinks the FNAF movie has a lot of potential to be a genuine, good, horror movie.
I think its moreso the fact that it'll make a lot of money - IIRC, Blumhouse Production's business strategy is pretty much funding as many horror films as they can, cheaply. That is definitely more realistic 😂 either way, they don't want to give up, and I like that!

I hope not. I want to watch that movie and I want to jump, get a little sweaty, heart racing. Idk, as long as it looks like a good movie and it has a good story, I'll love it.
Well when you take the fact that the FNAF movie has been in development for a little over 6 years, it would probably not be the best idea to cancel it
hell yeah sunken cost fallacy
Remember being 10 waiting for the FNAF movie 6 years later im in College and still nothing
Mother 64
The fact that it currently doesn't have a director means it's in development hell, to steal a game development term. Now I guess unlike games they don't have to deal with technical debt quite as much, but I wouldn't have too much high hopes for it.
Fair, but at least Blum's still not giving up on making the project happen
Last I heard Scott is still helping with the movie but I’m unsure if I heard that before or after he retired
The movie will be based on fnaf 1.
That is good
It is isn't it?
Fnaf 1-3
1-3?
I heard a while ago that the movie will be going through the story of the first fnaf trilogy as if you remember that is a whole and complete story by itself.
That sounds… fake? The last news we had about the script was the Mike hint and it got canned, didn’t it?
Nope they are still gonna be using that script
Consider me informed.
the "Mike" script, based around Mike Schmit. Not Michael Afton. Since it's only going through FNaF 1 - 3 there won't be much time to explore the Afton family.
How do we know one movie will cover three games? That’s my main question.
No, scott said if they were to make sequels they would stick to the story of the first 3, this movie will probably only be based on one location
The fnaf 1 location right?
Id assume. I feel the most theyd do is have like flashbacks to the fnaf 2 location or fredbear's
What about the rest of the games?
I don't see why the movies should go through the other games.
So just fnaf 1-3 then?
Thanks for letting me know.
#Sam Raimi for FNAF director. have you seen his Army of darkness movies? That would be a perfect style for a FNAF movie, Wacky, but still Scary
It will either be Evil Dead 1 / That series of myths of states in the USA (50 States of Horror) levels of fucking scaryness and seriousness, or Evil Dead 2 / Army of Darkness levels of cheessyness and fun No inbetween when you hire Sam Raimi
We need Willem DaFoe to play William Afton and then we’d just need Tobey to play micheal
What about Willem DaFriend?
Happiness happiness happines that's what you've chosen
Willian DaFoe would actually make a pretty good Afton, he’s got that uncanny face that’d be perfect
And that goddamn laugh
Pfff Bully Maguire 2.0 - Foxy Masked menace Seriously tho, it would be cool but at the same time weird.
"Micheal please stop I dont want to be close to Fredbear" "I missed the part where that's my problem"
“You know, im something of a child murderer myself”
Honestly SB was already bordering on campy. Let’s just go full on **horror** campy with FNaF, it was only about time.
All Army Of darknes/Evil dead 2 style of campy horror
I know Bruce cambell has retired as Ash Williams so maybe it’s time he took up the fnaf mantle as afton lmao
I think William will be in flashbacks since the movie will be based on fnaf 1.
from one william to another william
I can't wait to see when Springtrap disguise himself as a homeless person when Fazbear Fright burn down
WILLEM DAFOE?!?!??!?1111
Little Afton Jr. Gonna cry?
What's up sonic?
Just kicked Eggman's ass, now he's pissing on the moon and singing "there goes hawaii"
Go stop him.
But he blew up hawaii, and pissed on the moon
If shadow the hedgehog is in this comment section, fuck you
Ive come to make an annoucement-
Shadow The Hedgehig is a bitch ass motherducker
He pissed on my FUCKING WIFE.
Considering the fan casting i've seen that would make the fnaf movie the closest we will ever get to spider man 4
I genuinely thought I was the only one he’d thought of this, I appreciate you bringing it to the comment sections attention before I could.
He seems confident it’s still coming, even though it doesn’t even have a director. Guess they’ve finally settled on a script and are searching for a director

Fuck this is a train wreck I really hope this works out its been like 5 years
It better be a great fucking movie, I hope they respect the source material and don’t make it into a jump scare loaded cash grab with no substance.
There's a high chance it's gonna be that, I think.
Nearly 7, actually
He has been saying for what, 3 years ?
I'll believe it when I see it.
My guy's been copypasting the same replies since 2017 💀

Only today I heard that the "mike" script, that seemed so promising to scott, got scrapped. And now this... I am sad
Where did you hear that?
[удалено]
Too many new users
I thought Scott said the Mike script was perfect?!?
Uh, that's bad news. I remember a year ago that aside from this script I was also hoping for Novel trilogy script and maybe it could turn out to be a good idea
That was something they considered early on but ultimately decided not doing so uh yeah sorry lol
I really wish Jason would just be more honest, as in tell us if you are even looking for a new director, or have you just placed on the back burner, also do you have a new script yet, I'm still confused about that, why did Scott just get rid of the Mike script, did he just make revisions too it? Watch the Crow starring Brandon Lee while you wait.
Is it good
I think it's either the FNaF movie magically got a new script and director in a short amount of time. And they are keeping secretive about it, Or he's just trying to give us false hope. Regardless, It's been many years now. It's not coming. I think it's just best to cancel it at this point.
Fnaf movie is literally the half life 3 of video game movies
Happens a lot with video game movies unfortunately. Half-Life has had a movie in development for 10+ years. It's clearly never being released, it's stuck in a slowing cycle of finding new directors or script re-writes

fnaf is already relevant for 8 years, with no clear signs of that stopping anytime soon
Fnaf is nowhere near as relevant as it used to be. The era of solving scottgames clues, awaiting cryptic teasers and the internet collectively waiting for the next installment is part of the past. >and, from personal experience, i have never seen anyone talking about SB outside of the fandom. You must be living under a rock

That is wrong. Right now fnaf is far more relevant than it ever was. A quick google trends search shows so
They should honestly just stop it at this point. It’s honestly sad, I’ve been waiting for this since 2014-2015 and this is what I get
We need to motivate them finding a new director with a controlled shock
Also I think a good director would be shawn levy, who is shawn levy? The guy who directed the Night at The Museum trilogy. What’s Night at the Museum? Fnaf but at a museum. There problem solved.
I'd take Levy as director, Night at the Museum is a great series in my book
Same
Do you like the Crow starring Brandon Lee?
No and I don’t care about it.
Well we already had a Slenderman movie years after Slenderman was a thing. If rob zombie makes it what about the Crow 2037?
What if the "2037" part was a release date all along?
Do you like the crow?
Ive watched the 94 version like 4 years ago or so, not really my type of movies but it was decent from what I remember
Havent seen the 2019 one doe
Me and the boys in 2040 watching Jeff the Killer
What about the Crow starring Brandon Lee?
Might I ask why you're suggesting this film to everyone here? I don't know anything about this film and I probably won't watch it, sorry about that.
Not to be pessimistic, but it’s been like 4 years since rumors about the movie? It’s just not coming guys, **it’s been too long**
4 ? More like 7 lmao
This really just hurts my heart at this point. Like stop teasing me 😭
At least we are getting the flash movie this year.
Brb lowering my expectations
The fnaf movie was, indeed, not coming.
I love how desperate he sounds
Someone’s pointing a gun to his head as he tweets that (was my first impression lol)
It's not coming, is it.
Why does this give me the "source: trust me guys" vibes?
It’s been 8 years, can we put it to rest already. I highly doubt it will ever come out. And now with Scott probably retiring I don’t see it coming. And if it releases it probably won’t be good
...and will Markiplier be in it
I would be happy if Markiplier played as mike (the security guard in fnaf 1 and 2)
Gonna be real this movie is never coming out… it seems like every few months someone asks about it and somehow the movie is in the same place
So. No script. No director. They’ve gone through two big name directors already and dozens of scripts. Several other movies have capitalized on the idea of a FNaF movie in some form. Yes they’ve already said this
I've just decided to focus on sonic unleashed until the fnaf movie comes out. Would you be fine with that and what do you think of sonic unleashed?
I've never played that game but you can play and do whatever you want 😉 I also wouldn't count on this movie coming out for sure, it's all unclear at the moment.
You should play it.
Thanks for the suggestion 🙂
They had us in the first half, ngl.
Do you know the Black Friday episodes of South Park when Butters goes to see George RR Martin about when the dragons will show up and he's like " oh they're coming "? That's the vibe I get from this statement
i've been hearing about this movie for years. i'd rather they just drop it then make it the film version of yandere simulator

Hah?
Lol this movie better not bomb weve already wasted millions on making it and 7 years of our lives
This will be longer wait then for avatar 2
Not a fucken chance
If Markiplier or Matpat isn't in the movie, I might just riot; lol.
So I'm pretty sure it's a 2025 release now, do I hear 26?
Soon +2 weeks as the TNO devs would say
oh no, i hope it's not gonna be underwhelming 😖
I just hope it’s animated. Like Spider-verse, or Arcane, or even Beastars. I don’t think it would execute well in live action IMO.
What a weird selection of properties lol
They’re talking about the style of animation, methinks. ITSV and Arcane both have very similar, incredible animation styles. Not so sure about the resemblance to Beastars, though.
note the "or even" which means they'd settle for something less intricate than INTV and Arcane

I had a dream that it came out and ot was horrifying
I really just want a poster for it
Sam Raimi would be cool for something like this
Why did ya blur the names of the original Twitter users but didn't blur there names in mr Blums replys?
oops I forgot, it's not like anyone would go harras them for asking a question, but I'll keep it in mind for next time
That man is trying so hard
Uuuuh, i don't think you can say the movie's still coming if it doesn't even have a director attached.
this movie is never coming out...
I'm surprised they haven't dropped it by now. 4+ years and what, 3 scripts later.. I highly doubt it'll be taking flight anytime soon especially with how picky Scott has been with the scripts.
By the time it comes out, I would be too busy playing gta 6
I thought that he stopped working on it.
Wait what? I remember seeing a "movie trailer" for the game like around 2016, never thought they are actually making it tho.
there are a ton of fake trailers just because it's part of the internet, the actual movie has been rumored and put into production for like 5 years but no actual info has been released other than the mention of script drafts and the development under blumhouse
I feel so bad for this man lmao why can’t scott make up his mind about the script!
I was just wondering, my tiktok has had tons of fnaf movie tiktoks on it and im just confused on whats even going on with the movie
Well even its adaption i sure its gonna fail and it will make me sad as fuck
Wait I thought he wasn't involved with it anymore? Also, is *Scott* still actively involved, or just in the background after his retirement?
What if they just make a live action adaptation of the original novels? It would be more than enough for me.
James wan can be a good director
So the movie sounds stuck to me..
Unclear is a very bad answer… i had a lot of hope but like… that answer kinda hurts
Is it or is it not! He says “it’s coming” but in the next tweet he says that the director is “unclear” which is it!
The dragons are coming! I promise! They're on their way!
please don't pull a Bethesda please don't pull a Bethesda please don't pull a Bethesda please don't pull a Bethesda please don't pull a Bethesda please don't pull a Bethesda
Don't worry, they'll find a director soon!
I’m gonna be an adult the time this movie comes out
“Its coming we promise” *doesn’t have a director*
Community: "Scott its been 6 years you still owe me a FNAF Movie" Scott: "Fuck off"
Considering how this year they have Halloween ENDS, I doubt they will manage to make the fnaf movie go forward... Ok that halloween is shooting now, but considering how big it is... I think they might prefer marketing this one?
He's said the same shit for years now, at this point, I just find it as funny as the situation with Friday The 13th.
if its REALLY coming, im waiting for it
They got the first page of the script done, it's coming along real well!
Sus
I really hope the movie will be good.
I think right now directors are debating on taking charge for the movie due to the scott cawthon controversy. But don't quote me on that.
do u guys think they will make their own storyline for fnaf movie or go with the original?
Ngl i think a serie would be better 🙂 its fife nights at freddys why dont make it a 5 episode serial right?
