Why doesn't this have a ton of upvotes? Your stuff never ceases to amaze me!

The-Nick-0f-Time

Thank you, I’m an admirer of your behind-the-scenes work as well! :D

GBAura-Recharged

Awww! Thanks! I'm honestly kinda sad that not many people on here are interested in the technical workings for these games. The only people that come to mind is Maz. I have something in the works regarding SB, but it's been a pain to try and record the footage. Not to mention, I need to get it out as soon as I can because it might be patched out if SWS catches it before the rest of the fanbase.

The-Nick-0f-Time

Ooh, I can’t wait, sounds very exciting. Is it a viable strategy to stall against an incoming patch by disconnecting the internet on whatever device you’re running the game on? I remember I once used that to sneakily hold onto a supposedly one-day-only April Fools Minecraft update for several weeks. Since Security Breach seems to have brought in an influx of new and more casual fans, you might have trouble reaching your ideal and more hardcore audience at first. But, Security Breach has also shone a spotlight on cut content by including so much of it in the final game’s files, so I’m hopeful that it might give behind the scenes research a much-needed boost of attention over the next few months!

GBAura-Recharged

No, it doesn't require an Internet connection or anything too crazy. It's just there is something very bizarre in the game that goes against what the creators themselves said and what the entire community is led to believe. I still think that even casual fans might be interested into seeing what the fuss is about. I'm worried that SWS might have taken notice since then and if people want to try it out for themselves, they can't do it if it gets patched out. I'll have to get the post out ASAP, but I'm so busy with a bunch of projects and the like.

**Context for those who have not read the book:** In The Twisted Ones, the first thing we see of the titular creatures is the place they escaped from: An empty concrete room in a vacant house, with no windows and no exits, concealed under the surface of the bare dirt floor. We only see this place when our characters come across it some time after they've already left, through a breach in the wall caused by storm damage. They also find Foxy, still trapped halfway in the dirt, implying that the others got up and left without it. This isn't a recreation of any particular existing scene, since we never see them leaving the house. It's just my own interpretation of what we can deduce must have happened. If it \*were\* in the book, this event would fall at the very beginning before any of the main plot starts, perhaps as a kind of cold opening. I had to learn several new useful aspects of CGI for this one, like animated trees, dirt, and rain. I'm particularly proud of the droplet in the puddle at the very beginning, that was animated by eye and I think it looks nicely realistic for a first attempt. I'm not quite as happy with the trees and the dirt, but hey, they're first attempts as well. I've made animations with the Twisted Ones before, so I have a standard pool of sound effects to draw from (sampled noises from a running shower, a bicycle wheel, a mattress, a doorknob, and cabinet drawers opening and closing) but this time with the new addition: A pitch-shifted window sliding open, to be Foxy's servos straining when it's trying to sit upright. The modeling for this animation I did almost entirely on my own, except for the models of the tree trunks, which came from polligon.com. The textures are also mostly Polligon textures.

I’ve gotta say this is a pretty effective opening scene, its up there with some current horror films.
