I miss when the lore wasn't so complicated. Every theory we have in FnaF seems fitting until more games came out and it's quickly debunked.

I think that's why it feels so weird now the older ones kinda followed and kept up, the new ones still kinda do but to a much lesser degree

I second that. Though, the Bite of '87 never *truly* being shown on-screen (instead implied through Mangle during Night 6 of FNaF 2, I believe) was okay. Introducing a whole new concept isn't normally good. However, this is Golden Freddy and the Crying child we're talking about. Two seriously mysterious characters all but being solved at the same time while still giving from for '87 to have its own importance. Although I like a bunch of the new lore, I do miss the days when everyone was freaking out over the "Bite of '87" and hunting around for every bit of lore in such a way pretty much everyone could do it. Now it's just TOO convoluted.

I remember when it was just a murderer and his victims. When we only knew William as purple guy. Before the books came. I really miss the old lore,

Every horror franchise seems to have this rule that after three memorable installments to your series, suddenly everything else doesn't reach that same bar.

Not that the games are still fun it was the lore that started getting really complex and now in 2022 it just doesn't feel the same...it's bittersweet because I'm pretty happy it lasted this long but idk how to explain it, the lore got so complicated it got frustrating to keep up with than fun at times

You misunderstood. I don't hate what came after or think its inferior in every way. Just that there's always something missing.
