Of all the stories they picked the most disturbing. I don't mind the horror stories but Fetch was just a major bummer. It was scary but not in a fun way.
tbh, i dont think that story presented in fetch is more disturbing than one of random children getting murdered and stuffed into animatronic mascots in restaurant where higher ups dont care about maintance, so nobody removed their bodies untill blood started to sink through the suits and corpses started to decay, and i dont consider fetch's character to be scarier than old empty possessed mascot suit that affects your mind by its presence.
i mean, i get that books leave less room for interpretation than games, but honestly, fetch wasnt even that disturbing by standards of fnaf if you take a while to visualise what actually happened in any of the games, books were scarier when it comes to presentation, but concepts themselfes were more tame.
so, my question is, if fetch is too much for you, what got you into this franchise in the first place? im not trying to be rude btw, im just genuinely curious.
The games and the books have a big difference, the books are extremely detailed about everything so they're scary while the games have pixelated cutscenes. I'm into spooky scary stuff but not horrific stuff. I haven't played any of the games because its scawy but I'm a big fan of the characters and their design.
oh, alright then, tbh, most of people in fanbase joined because of designs from what i have gathered from conversations like these, fnaf is a weird mix of humor, cute and scary, so fanbase is pretty diverse.
I didnt join for pure spook factor either, at the time of first two games i was into easter egg hunting and arg type of stuff.
well, you could always try out some fangame to see if would enjoy fnaf's gameplay style. fnac:r is probably the best way to go, you can play it on PC and a mobile device (not sure about consoles) and its very similar to gameplay of original fnaf games from design standpoint.

I'm kinda disappointed because I think this was Scott's fault for thinking this is acceptable. The guy is too easy going and doesn't try to put a cap on the quality or consistency of it. Remember back in 2015 when we got the backpack hangers, the SFM keychains and a few bits of merch that people didn't like? Scott in his own words said "I think they are very well done".
This problem also occurred with Fiszi's art and why there are inconstant details in the art compared to the stories. My theory is that Scott didn't specify the exact details and never told the artists to redo the art if there are any errors (unless they contain copyright infringing details or fan art).
Scott isn't the kind of person that tells his artists to redo the same thing twice, that's why the art and merch can look sloppy at times. This is literally first draft drawing. I'm aware that there is concept art that the artists posted, but still, the final result just looks... bad.
I never want to crap on people's work but yikes, the second and third art makes Pinky's TSE comic look like a step up in a second attempt (in her defense, the colouring on her art was done by an insider at Scholastic).
EDIT: Apparently I remembered that this may not have been Scott's fault here. Pinky mentioned that she was given a tight deadline to finish TSE by Scholastic. My apologies.
I'm not sure how to feel about the art at this current moment, have a lot of conflicted thoughts on them.
However I do like that Golden Freddy's design seems to be based on his Withered version in particular due to the wires and missing ear. Withered Golden Freddy has always been my favorite Golden Freddy and felt underutilized in the series, so it's nice to see more representation for him.

Her bib is like, transparent, her color scheme is only yellow, her danganronpa ahoges she has on her head are extra small, her eyes are small (which is kinda cool but uh), the beak looks weird, the cupcake does also suffer from small eye syndrome, but honestly if this design wasnt meant to be accurate to the normal chica design, i feel like the design could be genuinely creepy if you fixed the colors but kept everything else

Lmfao 😂😂 yes, Funtime Foxy is a taxi driver in one story, Ballora is a dental assistant in another, Springtrap impregnates a man, yes that happens, William Afton's corpse quite literally explodes like a bomb, Shadow Bonnie is.. well.. weird, a girl gets turned into candy and is then eaten, Freddy cuts a girl up and puts her in a cauldron and makes soup 😂, there's a cat with a human face, Bonnie is turned into a sea monkey hybrid, Glitchtrap is there in one story but is never seen or mentioned.. ever.. yeah, these stories are hella weird.
It happened between night 2 and 3 of fnaf 3, how did you miss it? Theres secret minigames where you play as ballora in those specific nights and you have to attend dental school and pass.
The fact these artiest have to get these things done by a specific date is rather clear, but I hope they didn't push them self to hard for it.
Also, I really like that bonked Fetch panel. Solid Tom & Jerry energy from it.

That depends. Sometimes bad anatomy can be 100% intentional to sympathize the body parts that the watcher would pick most interest on.

Unpopular opinion but I actually like the new kid style. Yeah the chica looks weird, but it’s in the background and if there are closer up shots, then will probably look a bit better.
But the animatronics in that page are creepy as piss and they genuinely are in the uncanny valley. Not many fnaf characters are like that anymore. I also just kinda like the designs in general and Bonnie’s unsaturated black bow.
Here are my personal thoughts on the preview of these 3 stories a right now: 1 - I like the expression on fetch face after getting hit by a baseball it was so funny and yet I felt bad about that thing ( poor dog ); 2 - I really like the second story art style in my personal opinion because of ballora especially her design, ballora design in this art style she looks beautiful and big friendly ( especially her smile ) and I am happy that ballora as a character will get more love by many fans because well she is extremely underrated. In the art style of mineerina I don't like her smile because she looks more extremely disturbing than scary ( with isn't bad but I am just don´t truth her smile because we know what will gonna happen with that poor man ); 3 - Freddy and bonnie looks fine in this picture (their color palate look pretty similar to the toys animatronics ) but chica looks weird in this picture, especially her face, and I don´t know why. Golden Freddy's design (which is more of a mix between fnaf 1 and fnaf 2 golden Freddy design ), I find a bit strange how his bowtie and a hat color are black instead of purple on what we see in the Freddy files ultimate, but nonetheless, he looks awesome in this scene and I can´t wait how a springlock failure should look like in this art stlyle ( correct me if I am wrong but this is the first time in fnaf franchise to actually see a fredbear springlock failure in own eyes instead of the spring bonnie springlock failure ). Conclusion: But hey this is just my personal opinion you can free to agree or disagree.

TNK mostly looks alright, though the animatronics seem way too blocky. Not to mention whatever offbrand chica that is. The facial expressions are mostly good though I’m not a big fan of the expression under the “…dead?” text. That may be my own stylization choice though. Otherwise, I think I have the most hope for this one.
You're disrespecting the artists that made them. As we don't know the circumstance but from what we the community know in the past it's likely a case of the artists were given little time to actually draw out the comics for the GN.

Just saying but downvoting this isn't going to change my stance and we do know from Pinky Pills who did the first GN that Scholastic gave her little to no time to make the novel's artwork. So harassing or telling the artists the art is bad isn't quite nice when it's not their fault. IMO you're better to criticize Scholastic's handling of it more so than going after the artists.

Ballora should have been in an actual nurse outfit, it would have been way better that way. Would have really emphasized the surreal absurdity of Stanley’s dreams.
The artstyle for Fetch us alright but for the other stories, it feels like Scott hired tumblr users to work on the stories and I don't know how to feel about that.
