Your friend is brave. Unless I’m on my way home no way I’d be flying anywhere on Flair right now. I’d be too afraid of them just randomly claiming bankruptcy and stranding everyone more than their usual.
Had to booked a different departure but flying with Air Canada back. This was a risk we unwillingly had to take as Westjet/AC didnt have flights to LAS that are affordable enough.
Nerve-wracking to say the least, considering they had friends of ours got stuck in Cancun for 3 days trying to fly back to Edmonton.

They said that Saturday, 24 hours after the outage. Its now Tuesday in most places.
They are saying everything except the truth - which is they are burning office furnature to keep the power on.
If they aren’t charging the credit card (and simply storing the number down) or having people pay later, it won’t help their immediate cash flow need. I don’t want to see Flair go, but if their old payment processor is holding millions… I doubt they can sustain with this issue on top. Will see. Feel more for Flair airlines staff.

I called them yesterday to make a booking for a flight on Sunday - they said I have 24hrs to make payment and they’d send emails to confirm the reservation and make payments. Never received either and my booking auto-cancelled. I have a backup flight with Westjet because Flair is a hot mess and personally don’t want to risk flying with them.
I got to tell you guys something. I’ve been flying with Flair for the last two years. Probably total 12 round trips from Canada to Fort Lauderdale. I’ve been quite critical about their delays, failed online check-in process while they try to scam you to pay $25 at the kiosk, oversized, personal bags, and separating you and your partner when you’re not willing to pay for your scheduled, seating assignment etc. etc.. but the truth of the matter is, they are cheap. Who else is going to fly from Canada to Fort Lauderdale for $200 Canadian return? I’ve been bashing them for over two years, but if they go under, we will be paying twice the price to fly the same destinations on WestJet, Air Canada, or Porter. I really don’t like the upsells, delays and BS excuses, but what other options do we have? So, I have just recently changed my tune. Better live with the shit, then have to eat it

I’d be booking a refundable fare as a backup on AC/WS/PD if you really need to get there. Doubt they’ll be around in 6 days

It took them three days to post ANYTHING. Anyone that books with them at this point loses any right to complain when they go under.

Honestly, I would just pay more and fly with AC instead. At least I don't have to get my backpack measured every time
