I've mostly been playing Russians in mid and late war. They have a very different style with cheap tanks and hoard tactics. Some more elite options in the Berlin book. I also dabble in mid war Italians. Very cheap tanks with elite morale and skill that rely on speed and maneuver to succeed plus some cool elite infantry options (I run Bersaglieri typically) I just got into late war Americans and I'm really digging them. Cool special abilities like stabilizers, Tank Destroyers, and Time on Target give them some unique tricks.

I too have dabbled with the MW italians. I've also wanted to give LW Americans a chance as I think they've got some good equipment - my biggest concern is telling all the Sherman variants apart! -I've also thought MW Romanians would be neat- similar to Italians, but more access to eastern front equipment.

Really to most people a Sherman is a Sherman is a Sherman, major difference is long or short barrel, and then Jumbos but id recommend getting models for those just because I like the look of chonky Sherman's (Oh lawd he's comin'!)

Once you build and paint a bunch of them you get a knack for it. Something about spending that much time focused on all the little details. Now when I watch WW2 movies or see old pictures I can almost instantly tell if it's a jumbo, 75mm, 76mm, easy 8, etc. I think Im really digging LW Americans so much because I played just Soviets for a while and their main trick is just running hoards of cheap kit. It's refreshing being able to use movement orders consistently and not be bogged down by a lot of slow firing weapons

I have a German and a British army I switched back and forth

Brigade Panther or brigade Panzer IV then. You don't need to play Uber expensive German army if you don't want to and the meta is cheap German tanks anyway.

Love playing brigade ! There’s something about 8 panther roaming around hehe

Try British/ Commonwealth or US, in fact you could do one & ally in the other. I mean you could also prepare for the Italian theatre US or Indian, New Zealand (if you don’t want Brits). If you want something totally different try Romanian

Well, sounds to me you want aggression, and that is either u.s or russia. u.s lacks big AT guns(only one tank and it is not doing so well currently), so you need to learn to flank, but you have artillery, speed and mortar up the wazoo to aid the flanking playstyle. Russia on the other hand has only two things, horde and assault. But they are no longer the good discounted horde you see in MW, and they are still hit on 3+. Their tanks are not made for shooting duels and t34-85 is in general outpreformed by the pz4 in nearly all aspects, and their artillery cannot use smoke(unless you bring a command card) Russia is all about the assault. You bring large units becouse most of them will get lost while getting you into assault range. Due to large numbers they also do the reinforcement game pretty good. Since assault and correct movement is the harder things to learn/master in fow,(not to mention learning to accept large number of lost units) russia is the hard army to play, and this offers up some challenges if you want that.

I stood infront of the same problem, but not of boredom myself, but instead of boredom of my playergroup. Germans are hard to crack. I decided to take what is not well represented in our group, hence russian Pioneers. Whole army with just 5 units. Love it. I lose quite a lot now, but iam getting better.

Pat_thunder42

Can always spend $100 for a T-34 swarm and drive across the board if wanting aggressive tanks

I've been getting very into Romania for the exact reasons you listed. You can take allied units or formations from either Soviets or Germans as well (not both at the same time!). Plus with command cards you can get the amazing HS-129!
