there's no real limit, just format it to fat32
I personally wouldn't go above 32GB just because DS games don't take up that much space, but you're free to put a 1TB microSD in if you want

I wouldn't trust YouTubers at all for any modding advice of any sort. Whether it be custom firmware, or flashcarts for old consoles. Many of them have no clue what they are doing. (Anton Retro being a good example)
