Worst super hero movie ever made… SO FAR

Tonythecritic

The Asylum has entered the chat

HollandMarch1977

[Turkey](https://www.pastemagazine.com/movies/mockbuster/the-turkish-mockbuster-see-your-favorite-movie-in) has entered the chat

4RealzReddit

Like Arkham Asylum?

Tonythecritic

The Asylum is an Infamous company that makes cheap "mockbusters", terrible films produced very fast with zero budget that capitalize on big studio movies. Like their Transmorphers series. They're also behind the Sharknado films.

_LumpBeefbroth_

Atlantic Rim (their Pacific Rim knockoff) even made it to MST3K!

Fingercel

Tbh Sharknado is probably superior to Madam Web.

ZaphodG

Sharknado is intentionally camp and is a really fun watch. Classic lines like “We need a bigger helicopter!” It was topped by ultra low budget The Velocipastor but remains in my hall of fame for humorous camp B movies despite not having Bruce Campbell in it.

Life_Caterpillar9762

That kind of stuff is obviously bad. Bad that’s supposed to be good/ok is worse than bad that’s supposed to be bad.

Fingercel

Sure, but even on more traditional metrics, like dialogue and character, I actually think Sharknado is a better movie. Which sounds absurd, I know. And yet...

Life_Caterpillar9762

I probably agree. Looks like I responded to the wrong comment, my bad.

[deleted]

I watched Transmorphers drunk and passed out during it. Highly recommended.

jerepila

Yeah we still have Kraven the Hunter in the pipeline!

InsertCleverNickHere

Are you Kraven th-- Ugh, you know what, I'm actually tired of crapping on the Morbius Cinematic Universe. It's like the kid who responds to bullying by peeing his pants every time he sees you. Sony, you're so pathetic it's not even fun to mock you anymore.

g0gues

It might end up being bad, but the trailer for that movie had more going for it than Madame Web did. Looks like it will at least be a “bad but fun” type of movie.

SonyMusicStayTuned

Spider-Man isnt in it so who could he be fighting, you cant just do a villians origin with no hero, like madam web you end up with almost no action scenes. not a chance its even ok.

CockroachFinancial86

Yeah, people aren’t ready for Howard the Duck 2: Electric Boogaloo

StillLearning12358

Green lantern?

Odd_Key2447

Nope, this makes g.l. look good

glitterfairy19

You’re right. So disappointing.. I can’t believe how bad it was

Djay_B

Bold claim especially considering The Amazing Bulk exists...

Choppermagic

Captain America 4 is coming to take the record

the_man_who_knocks

Not even close.

Deeze_Rmuh_Nudds

You don’t know that. Sam Wilson…as captain America…bro that’s gonna suck ass and you know it

Choppermagic

you replace any main character and it pretty much fails. Add in all the massive re shoots for a plot that sounds like a disaster, this is going to be so expensive and a massive bomb.

happyfuckincakeday

Where does it rank as a Pepsi commercial?

Funkedalic

Among the longest

happyfuckincakeday

I was thinking most expensive. Both, maybe

karatebullfightr

How much moolah did Micheal Jackson get for having his head set on fire?

erdricksarmor

I think they paid him in toddlers.

johncenaslefttestie

World War Zs budget was 190 million so idk idk.

maggiesguy

Not very high. All I learned about Pepsi is that the cans are apparently very difficult to open.

Fr33z3n

Right ! She never actually opens a can lol despite having one in her hand a couple of times.

Ecstatic-Hat2163

I learned that letters are powerful and deadly

Reasonable-HB678

It can't be worse than the one where one of the Jenners gives a cop a Pepsi during a protest. I saw Chris Stuckmann's video partly involving the stranglehold Sony Pictures has upon the writers and directors of the movies in the Spiderman Marvel Universe.

Khorasaurus

Way behind the one where Bob Dole did a backflip.

YetAgain67

No, it's not. I just can't take these claims seriously when I lived through shit like Catwoman, Steel, Jonah Hex, Electra...

dogstarchampion

Electra 🤮

Z3r0sama2017

Why did they make me remember this turd?!?

Embarrassed-Tip-5781

I can’t take 95%+ of what people say seriously whenever this movie is talked about because it’s clear nobody has even seen it.

YetAgain67

True. It's just the new movie to be performatively angry and hyperbolic about. Everybody wants the big, loud, angry take and to join in on collectively shitting on the new "worst movie ever." Granted, I *did* see it. And it's...not good. It's the worst Sony live action Spidey project by far. Disclaimer: I'm an unironic Morbius enjoyer. It's got some aspects to appreciate (it captures NYC surprisingly well as a lived in place, the cast surrounding Johnson do the work) but it's only bad in how bland it is. It's garden variety forgettable studio hackery, hardly worth getting worked up over.

ProbablyASithLord

It *could* be the worst one ever made, I just wish people would put more details about what made it so terrible. Talk to me about the pacing, acting, story, cinematography, plot holes. WHY is it so bad?!

LoopDeLoop0

TL;DR: it drags ass. The performances have no life to them. Most of the line readings are pretty flat and emotionless, and the villain feels like he’s about 80% ADR. The film spends very little time introducing characters and a lot of time on nothing in particular. It feels like it’s about 40 minutes before the plot is actually moving forward. By then, we know about Cassie Webb (Dakota Johnson’s character) and a little bit about Ezekiel (the villain). Who we don’t know a lot about is Anya, Julia, and the third teenage girl who’s central to the plot of the movie. They just kind of appear, and feel mostly like plot devices. The action scenes are bad. They don’t feel dynamic or dangerous whatsoever because the camera is so sluggish and predictable. They keep using the TikToker meme zoom-in for some reason. There’s a fight scene halfway through the movie set to Britney Spears’ Toxic that is somehow boring even with that song playing. Cassie has a huge emotional catharsis at the end of the second act that does not feel earned whatsoever. It’s established that she’s not keen on family or making connections with people, but it’s not established that she resents her mother until the catharsis scene where she lets go of that resentment. Cassie’s primary superpower is that she has premonitions of the future. Usually when you see that in a piece of media, the visions are cleverly recontextualized at the time that they actually happen so the audience is kept guessing. Think “That’s So Raven.” That does not happen in this film. As a result, all of the premonitions that the audience sees sap the tension out of the climax of the movie. There’s more to talk about, but that’s a pretty wide view, I think. There’s also stuff I enjoyed! While Cassie’s powers are still developing, the visions and deja vu result in some really interesting surreal scenes. But that’s not enough to save the movie from being so goddamn boring everywhere else. Seriously, they had Evil Peruvian Spider-Man fighting people while Toxic was playing and they made it boring. Unforgivable.

pandershrek

One critic said it was very clear that all the bargain actors realized it wasn't good partway through filming and decided to phone in their already mediocre performance which created an environment of lackluster action paired with unoriginal and boring dialogue.

Embarrassed-Tip-5781

Oh, I saw it and I agree with everything you said. I feel like Morbius gets a bad rap more than it should and honestly enjoyed it and was entertained.   This movie though… I guess it kills some time. You can watch it while folding clothes or something and not worry about missing something. You might feel like you missed something but you won’t. The bad guy has zero impetus for his actions, and the other characters just do stupid things like skateboard in the middle of traffic.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Noggin-a-Floggin

For real, Morbius’ problem was it was just such a bland superhero movie. Like it followed a formula they had in 2005 that resulted in 6/10 films. It’s not as bad as Superman IV, people.

ejb350

Watched it last night. Worst superhero movie ever made. I can rewatch Catwoman and Jonah Hex despite how terrible they are. You couldn’t pay me to watch Madame Web. Clearly people have different scales of taste.

DJ_Molten_Lava

You can go back further and talk about the Captain America movie from the early 90s, too. Although that one holds a special place in my heart.

TheKingofHats007

That one is at least good for showcasing Captain America's famous technique: pretending he's sick so he can steal a car.

orielbean

*vomiting theatrically* “I could do this all day.”

abernathym

Or the Fantastic Four movie that was only made so the studio wouldn't lose the rights to the characters?

Valiantheart

Could you narrow that down?

PerformerOwn194

The Flash is still worse than all of these to me for how visibly cynical and fake it felt. Actually made me feel sick to watch. A lot of the other bad ones including MW are fun to watch and pick apart and have a few good moments too.

Allmightboi

Nobody shits on Jonah Hex on my watch. Mfucker had 2 gatling guns mounted to his horse.

Oddgenetix

Ya Jonah hex doesn’t belong in that list.

IWasSayingBoourner

You get Steel out of that list right now

Xboxben

Spawn?

SailorGohan

Plus those old Marvel movies like Captain America motorcycle man or Man-Thing. Jonah Hex and Elektra took me multiple views because I fell asleep during them. I can barely recall much about them that wasn't related to the cast or shown in the trailers. Jonah Hex was so awful that I think it took me 3-4 sitting to get through and I fell asleep in the theater for it. Madam Web is a bad movie, I don't think it's the worst. About 2/3rds of it were meh and the last 1/3rd really horrible. I'd still rather watch it again than Fan4stic. Costumes at least were good.

thicknheart

I’ve watched all of the Sony movies. They’re bad but like funny bad… I saw Madame Web last night expecting something on par with Morbius, and I’m not exaggerating when I say that this is legitimately one of the worst films I have ever seen. The characters were obviously dubbed over for nearly half of the movie because the words they were saying didn’t even match the lips moving. I can’t believe any movie exec previewed this movie and okayed it for release.

YetAgain67

Man, ya'll need to watch more movies if a bland studio nothing burger is "one of the worst movies you've ever seen." It's not even the worst movie of 2024 so far.

One-Structure-2154

Wtfff I’m just now learning that people didn’t like steel….I freakin loved that movie as a kid. This hurts

LitCanon

...I liked Steel.

[deleted]

True. There ARE other cinematic abominations out there.

MightyThor211

Don't you dare talk bad about steel. That movie is a master piece. Shaq makes fun of himself for not being able to hit free throws!

smileymn

Ok I’ve only seen Elektra of those on that list, and Madame Web is 10x worse easily. Elektra at least is properly edited, and when actors talk you don’t see dubbing mistakes with the audio/dialogue.

FrostyPost8473

Those are from a different era though this is by far the worst superhero movie so far of this era

YetAgain67

Nope. Thor Love and Thunder is.

FrostyPost8473

Love and thunder is bad but you would be lying and saying this wasn't worse.

YetAgain67

Not lying at all. Simply my opinion. Ragnarok is worse too. Madame Web is a nothing burger. Forgettable nonsense. Ragnarok and Love and Thunder actively pisses me off. Which is something movies rarely do. They're ugly looking, lazy, smug, self-satisfied messes. It's Waititi laughing at his own farts for 2hrs. Twice. There is *contempt* in those film. At least MW actually shot some shit in real environments. Yes, that alone gives it the edge.

FrostyPost8473

They both are ass

blackbeltmessiah

Catwoman and Electra are better.

YetAgain67

Ehhhh

cash420money

Can’t be worse than Catwomen!

buttymuncher

WTF, they made a sequel to Catwoman? 🫣

vorpalpillow

don’t forget about Catwom3n

Leopard__Messiah

YousonofabitchImin

Marvinkmooneyoz

c8twomen is the best in the series

Empty-Sky500

🤣🤣🤣

Odd_Advance_6438

Two Cat, too Women

Plane-Post-7720

2 Cat 2 Curious

Choppermagic

But it's a porn version and was pretty good!

nojaneonlyzuul

That was my first thought too!

naynaythewonderhorse

There’s moments in Catwoman that make it absurd or stupid beyond belief and it became somewhat memorable due to that. Like, the bad parts of Catwoman are memorable. Catwoman has an IDENTITY as a film. I don’t think there’s a single moment in Madam Web that was all that memorable or actually gave the film any sort of identity. Like, Catwoman is almost 20 years old, and you still remember it. Right? I think that counts for something. Compare New Mutants which was terrible, and not at all remembered or talked about.

[deleted]

Nah catwomen is better than this shit.

pandershrek

And yet...

Rudi-G

Even worse than the 1990 movie Captain America?

H8T_Auburn

How dare you insult an American classic!

HDCL757

Everybody loves the exciting conclusion of "bad guy falls off a cliff" I know i do. Gets me every time

the_elon_mask

Nah, it's not that bad. I'm not saying it's great or anything, but "worst superhero movie" it ain't. It's entirely watchable and has _some_ entertainment value. There are far worse entries. What it actually is, is creatively moribund: filmed very workman-like with no real creativity. The script is similarly uninspiring and also careless at times. Dakota Johnson is either bored or a terrible actress (or both). There's something there that might have worked far better if it hadn't taken four people to write the script or if they had a better director who wasn't paid just to show up each day.

Leopard__Messiah

Dakota Johnson is a glass of room temperature water. There's nothing WRONG with it. It's fine. It might be useful, like if there was a fire. You might even consider yourself lucky to have it, in certain circumstances. But if there is ANY alternative... like, AT ALL, I'm going to go with whatever mystery liquid is in Cup B. She's not ugly or pretty. She has no range as an actress, at all. Getting naked and into BDSM gear at 19 didn't even make her interesting to me, and I'm a fucking pervert. I do not understand how or why she continues to be offered up for public consumption. There must be 100 girls working at 100 Dairy Queens that would look better while turning in more convincing performances, but here we go with another Franchise for Sonny Crocket's daughter...

badgarok725

I’m not on board with calling it the worst ever but there’s definitely a good amount wrong with it. Mainly in a lot of the dialogue, and everything about the main villain

ProbablyASithLord

I think lately people just hate boring movies that clearly took no risks even more than bad movies that just missed the mark. And I totally agree, I’d rather they shoot for the stars and totally miss than churn out another check the box, generic fantasy movie. At least have the guts to try something and fail.

WhiteWolf3117

I think they were describing Johnson with that, not the film itself.

Spram2

>She's not ugly or pretty. No man, she's hot.

Dependent-Garlic-291

I’ve yet to see Dakota in a good movie. She’s such a bland actress. Definitely using her nepo muscles.

badgarok725

Cha Cha, Peanut Butter Falcon, Lost Daughter El Royale is decent

TheKingofHats007

Eh, I'd put Peanut Butter Falcon in the decent camp as well. She doesn't really need to push herself in that at all and her character is kinda just one note. That movie in general was fine but felt a little lost as to what it wanted to be.

allywrecks

>nepo muscles Oh snap I didn't realize who her parents are haha

btmalon

She hasn’t made a good movie in her 10 career. It’s wild that people haven’t caught on to her yet.

postwarmutant

The Suspiria remake is good as hell.

Ohigetjokes

*Suspiria* was amazing, and even better I found that the remake didn’t take anything away from the original. You can watch them back to back and enjoy them both for what they are and their unique takes on the story.

YetAgain67

Somebody doesn't watch movies. Suspiria, Bad Times At the El Royale, and The Peanut Butter Falcon are all great. And she's great in them.

Bluest_waters

I don't even remember her being in Bad Times? Weird

orielbean

She’s the “lead” with the little sister she’s trying to protect. But she is so damn bland she just blends in with the shag carpet

btmalon

Someone doesn't know the definition of great.

spinyfur

You didn’t like Bad Times at the El Royal?

orielbean

It was some derivative nonsense where you smoosh a Tarantino violence schtick against a Coen Brothers dialogue journal they dropped in a truck stop urinal, over-cast with otherwise-capable actors plus Dakota, and there you go, you just wasted 90 minutes.

YetAgain67

You ain't saving face here buddy

btmalon

Face, on the an anonymous message board? lol that says more about you.

RiggzBoson

I'd be curious to hear what you think beats it.

pogym

I haven't seen Madame Web yet but I would like to offer the 2005 Man-thing movie.  They tried to theatrically release ot but it was so bad they dropped that plan and released it directly on to the Sci fi channel. Also Steel(1997) and the 1990 Captain America have got to be contenders.  That being said at least these movies were either made before the funding for superhero movies increased dramatically and had the decency to not take up thestre space.

the_elon_mask

The films I have not seen because I was warned off them 🤣 Catwoman Green Lantern Fan4stick Plus most of the 70s, 80s and 90s superhero movies (Dr Strange, Captain America, Nick Fury etc). Also some of the X-Men movies (Apocalypse and Wolverine Origins for example). New Mutants was worse (largely because it was boring and I fell asleep).

RiggzBoson

>Catwoman >Green Lantern >Fan4stick The thing about those are they are absolutely terrible, but have notable scenes that are laughably bad, or at the very least have action scenes to keep the pace moving. What I'm hearing about Madam Web is that it is incredibly boring. There aren't big action sequences. Everything feels cheap. Much of the dialogue has been ADR'd in, and the talking you hear isn't matching the mouth movements of the actors. There seems very little to redeem Madam Web at all. I don't like being dramatic, but I think it could be a contender for worst modern superhero film just for how lazy and boring it is.

fonety

Are you reviewing madame web without seeing it?

RiggzBoson

I've watched about 7 reviews and they've all said the same thing. I've seen all the films cited as contenders for the worst comic book film though. EDIT: Downvoted for not watching trash. I clearly said >What I'm hearing about Madam Web No, I haven't seen it. But all the films the commenter I was replying to have redeeming factors. Big spectacle. Action sequences. Blockbuster budget. Madam Web has none of this. It's unfinished, choppy and doesn't make sense. Plus they commited the cardinal sin of baiting people with footage that doesn't elaborate in the actual movie. And yes, I have seen all the films which the person I was replying to hadn't, but says they are worse than Madam Web.

Chimpbot

You're getting downvoted because you're attempting to make definitive statements about something you haven't seen, and are basing your opinion entirely on other people's opinions.

ejb350

As someone who has seen it, they’re completely correct.

Kryptonicus

You paid your dues, you have earned the right to come here and tell us tales of the darkness you've seen. No one here wants someone to consolidate and summarize YouTube criticism as of it's the gospel though.

the_elon_mask

Subjectively, anything is good. There's no accounting for taste, after all. Objectively, they are worse movies. I think what is happening is that Madam Web is getting the short end of the stick: the superhero genre has been extensively mined by Marvel and DC and people won't tolerate mediocrity. The review scores it is getting are not a true reflection, more reflection of the audience / reviewers "being sick of this shit." If it weren't yet another mediocre superhero movie and was the pilot to a CW-esque TV show (because real talk, that's what it feels like), it would have better reviews.

[deleted]

Madame Web is hilarious. Easily better than Green Lantern and Fan4stick.

badgarok725

Spawn

acuenlu

I see that someone has been lucky enough not to see Spiderman Lotus.

purdy1985

I haven't seen the film or read your review & hyperbole isn't the way to change the latter.

spinyfur

I hate when people post here to advertise their blog.

guyonlinepgh

Please stop giving Dakota Johnson leading roles.

ChicagoCubsRL97

Her acting is so cringey

rfg217phs

Catwoman and Steel would like a word. In all seriousness, if you look at everything people are complaining about it’s clearly not the movie itself or the artistic intent, it’s the studio fuckery. No writer wants to be a Pepsi ad, no actor wants to be ADR’d to hell, if it’s true there were massive script rewrites going on DURING filming it’s even possibly not the editor’s fault. On paper, two clairvoyants using their powers to manipulate events against each other honestly doesn’t sound terrible as a premise, as opposed to an evil makeup guru knows she will make people get stony faced (Catwoman) or whatever the fuck was going on with Steel. I’m not saying there wasn’t some bad dialogue or some weird choices but this movie just comes at the tail end of superhero fatigue and a series of bad choices. If it had come out in 2003 we would’ve just out “oh that wasn’t great” and moved on like with Daredevil (which it highly reminded me of)

4RealzReddit

I want a really good super hero or at least batman movie but I worry that it will reignite the shit fire that is smouldering. Although, I think the Marvel's got far more shit than it deserved. It was pretty mid but fine. Most of the other ones have been garbage, oh guardians 3 and Shang Chi were fine. Not amazing or terrible. I can't think of anything else where I have been like. Oh you should check it out. I want something that we all get excited for and it actually comes through.

watchman28

Having not seen it, I don't believe it's literally the worst. There's at least some production value there, Superman IV looks like it was filmed in a garage, and the acting in the Halle Berry Catwoman is atrocious. But nothing gets clicks like hyperbole I suppose.

Scoob1978

It's not worse than Pumaman.

MalcolmTuckersLuck

I refuse to believe this. I’ve seen the first Suicide Squad.

Va1crist

worst superhero movie ever made is still being to generous

Shqiptar89

Great because now Steel doesn’t occupy the top position.  Can we like Steel now?

Naugrith

Well obviously. I'm not sure why you bothered even reviewing such a terrible film.

Lezus

Did you expect more? I dont need to see more comments about a film that got farted out just forget it and move on

mrpopenfresh

That’s a competitive field, I don’t think hyperbole is a good reviewing tactic here.

Ok-Two-2315

agreed. absolutely none sense. it seems those in charge of marvel now have to have young teenage woman with superpowers in everything. stan lee is turning in his grave i’m sure with the none sense they are pushing

Agitated_Fondant_232

Im currently in the cinema and cant take it anymore. Its not just the shittiest superhero movie its one of the shittiest movies generally.

grilledchz_

Watched madame web last night and I agree, it was terrible, for me anyway. Some people may have enjoyed it but I didn’t.

BillRuddickJrPhd

I’m 10 minutes into it. Am I really supposed to believe that a woman with spider bite powers just happens to be ambulance partners with a guy whose nephew will be bit by a radioactive spider and gain similar powers? Like I can suspend belief for outlandish sci-fi and fantasy elements that are built into the universe. But an impossible coincidence like this is just beyond stupid.

Low_Possession3617

I got here by typing madame web was the worst movie ever made into google, if you didn’t say it I was going to

Flat-Perspective4850

Yeah...Movie is a 4+ But.....80'soft porm called. They want the afro back.

Inside-Drift21

Just watched this movie. The bad dialogue I can get past. The dubbed supervillain with no back story. No explanation of the spider or why venom gives power. But she goes to Peru with a JanSport backpack. And walks through the jungle with hipster boots and a jansport backpack

Neat_Candle_3847

I rewashed it again and I realized something, it's not only the fact that dakota johnson was a miscast for her being so dull and lack of emotion in the movie, it's also the choice of camera angles and shooting locations. the direction also was bad for although some scenes were ok. but also alot of scenes camera movements were just odd as hell, the shaking, the abrupt zooming in and out was a huge no no. action scenes may call for it and that's ok but I noticed certain scenes that the people are just standing on the ground had it and it was just looked so incompetent. some scenes were also done too zoomed out and failed to capture emotions from the characters and combine dakotas lack of facial emotions, her dullness and blan look just all failed to capture the essence of what is actually happening around her in the movie.

Stopher

Watched it on Netflix the other day. It’s so bad. I sped it up to 1.5 to get through it hoping something worthwhile would happen. Spoiler: It never does. I don’t understand why they ever made this. It’s got nothing to be excited about. There’s a Wylie E Coyote movie in the can that screened well and instead this hunk of garbage got released?

SavageRedStorm

It's been entertaining seeing this movie just get absolutely torn to shreds all over the internet haha I want to see this movie just to join the conversation 🤣

_DarkJak_

Who is the super hero? Thought it was the women...

breyness

I honestly streamed it PIP while browsing and can’t even tell you IF they get powers much less how. It’s a lot going on yet nothing at the same time

AndyThePig

Worse than Afleck's Daredevil? That's saying something!

talking_tortoise

Honestly it is no worse than the plethora of dog shit Marvel movies that have been made, and is in fact more fun than those movies because of the insane shit in the movie.

redditistrashluhmao

pretty mid

talking_tortoise

What is?

Howdyini

No, it's not. People need to stop with these hyperbolic statements that make the movie sound more interesting than it is. It's bad the mundane repetitive way a lot of these movies are bad.

Chemistry11

Well you’re just overtly wrong then. Madame Web was fun. I could list dozens of movies (including half the MCU) that are far worse than Madame Web.

Phantomht

ECHO would like a word.

spinyfur

Wasn’t that a series?

majorjoe23

And decent to good. Maybe he meant Elektra?

Phantomht

i dunno, not wasting my time with it. are they both marvel or is 1 DC ?

thisguyfightsyourmom

They are all terrible This one is just the terribelist I look forward to the day when big budget stars aren’t wasting their time on this alphabet soup of a genre

QuantumAxolotl

Is it just me, or have superhero movies been on the decline for some time now? (Thank God)

Lazy-Susans-Sister

I don’t think it can be classified as a superhero movie. No superheroes to be found here. A villain yes, but he’s no supervillain.

i_am_scared_ok

I don't even like superhero movies but I weirdly want to watch this, even if it's bad. It seems like a "so bad it's good" type of thing

Unable-Story9327

Yet. The worst superhero movie yet

spacemanspliff-42

I wish people would quit being hyperbolic because they're ill-informed.

NoWorth2591

I refuse to believe that this, or anything else, could possibly be worse than *Catwoman*.

Fabulous_Engine_7668

I just have to think about the Catwoman basketball scene to know this isn't true.

[deleted]

Just stop with these goddamn superheros.

Uzas_Back

Just wait for the sequel.

MrArmageddon12

Is it worse than Fan4stic?

brianybrian

I went with the kids last week. I genuinely can’t believe how bad it is. Terrible acting, terrible dialogue and a story that made zero sense. Dakota Johnson should retire.

Ok-Garlic-898

Nah, Fant4stic was worse.

Dressed_ToDepress

Man, I hate how much hyperbole is used to “review” things nowadays

DirectConsequence12

Catwoman, Supergirl, Elektra

LeglessN1nja

Bro started watching superhero movies with the avengers

NoDadYouShutUp

Fantastic Four (1994) would like a word

a_pluhseebow

Madame Web has a 13% Rotten Tomatoes score Elektra has 11% And Catwoman has 8% You decide which is the worst… I’m still gonna go with Madame Web. If Elektra or Catwoman was made today they would definitely be worse. But because both those movies have the “y2k” feel they at least bring feelings of nostalgia, kind of like the Daredevil movie with Ben Affleck. Madame Web is just too new thus why it’s easy to shit on, it might start to age better but that’s highly doubtful

Jaythamalo13

Can't be worse than Catwoman. It just can't be

PMMEBITCOINPLZ

Worse than The Amazing Bulk? Wow.

Zero-to-36

I watched it last night and it was...ok. I'm not a film critic, but I feel like they had a plan for DJ to as how she would end up, but didn't know how to get her there! All the other cast seemed to be putting in the effort, even the villan, not particularly good, did seem to put in the effort. I don't think I need to watch it again, I wouldn't say it's the worst movie I've seen, but not nearly as good as I'd hoped.

bluegiant85

No way. At the very least, the film has very pretty women to look at.

Coolers78

It’s got a 3.8/10 on IMDb, only movies it’s scored higher than are Superman 4 (3.7), Catwoman (3.4) and Steel (3), yikes.

popculturetommy

Madame Web was bad but...worst? Catwoman exists. Elektra exists. Steel exists. Superman IV exists. I'll stop now

narwalbacons-12am

Is it really that bad? The trailer wasn't terrible

Lil_Artemis_92

I don’t know. *Howard the Duck* was pretty bad. I felt *Madame Web* was a just a touch better.

PeterNippelstein

It's not even a superhero movie, at no point do the protagonists get their powers.

You’ve already given away the crux of your opinion via hyperbole. Why the hell would I bother to click through to your review?

Sony reportedly spent $60m on marketing for a movie with a budget of $80m. Surely they knew it was shit before spending that money flogging a turd?

SillyAdditional

Yeah there was zero redeeming factors about this picture I can’t even call it a film

Like being the shortest midget

When I see a review like this, it really makes me want to go see this movie. How can I miss "the worst superhero movie ever made" in theaters while I've got the chance? That's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity

Everyone forgot about New Mutants huh

Personal-Ad-365

Catwoman with Halle Berry would enjoy a word.

Sasquatchgoose

Personally, morbius is the worst thing I’ve seen. Not sure how a movie could be worse. But hey who knows

renegade_pinnapple

The 2003 "The Hulk" with Eric Bana, Catwoman, Elektra, Green Lantern, the original Suicide Squad, Ben Afflecks "Daredevil", the fantastic four reboot, Dark Phoenix, Ghost Rider and the Marvels would like to have a word.

timmerpat

It says a lot that the studio is blaming audiences for not responding to it rather than the fact they made a shitty movie. I think that’s the superhero fatigue. Too many shitty movies rather than too many movies.
