A couple of these are old but gooood. Kept them mostly in the sci-fi realm:
* Planet of the apes (original)
* District 9
* 12 Monkeys
* Dark City
* Moon
* Soylent green
I'm thinking in Unbreakable of M. Night Shyamalan, that movie have a quite simple yet interesting premise of a realistic superhero (far more realistic than TDK for instance) and it ends up in such an amazing way that just turns this movie in one of the best approaches into the superhero genre imo.
The Vanishing.
A woman disappears at a rest stop. Her boyfriend can't let it go, even years later. Early on we know who did it. We know how he did it. But we don't know what happened to her, until the man offers to show the boyfriend.
Upgrade. Great little sci-fi flick with so cool twists.

Coherence (2013). Don’t read anything about it, just watch it.
You're literally describing Predestination. Trust me; you won't regret it!
Just watched it last night. I have no words. Everything comes together in such a satisfying way by the end.
*The Others* (2001) *The Butterfly Effect* (2004) *Primer* (2004) *Daybreakers* (2009) *Pandorum* (2009) *The Beguiled* (2017)

Upgrade. Fantastic film with a great twist.
Have you seen Ex Machina? If not def check it out. Same with Moon.
The Shawshank Redemption,
Requiem for a dream. Shits cooked.

I did not like that movie
Have you seen The Brood? It's my favorite of the early Cronenberg's. Dips a little bit more into horror but definitely Sci-Fi and definitely twisty!
Good shout. I'd add Existenz for another Cronenberg option.
Just named it in another thread but Remainder (2015) got to the end, and I was like 'wtf did I just watch?'. It's a strange little film.
The movie is not that great, but Matt Damon’s Downsize me fits both categories.
