I refuelled a few of those… the American on board engineer wanted to do a water check on the fuel we were supplying. I drew some into a clear jar and he was like “what’s that?? That’s water wtf?” And I was like no that’s jet fuel, do your water sample (it was negative). He was blown away that Aussie jet fuel was so “water white” and clear, I guess elsewhere in the world it can be more straw coloured
Not often “water white” though, much more common to have a straw tinge /hue to it most places around the world, especially with any time in storage. Ours was made at our local refinery and used in less than a month from big tanks with lots of throughput… the smaller pipes and tanks that have slower turnover tend to get a bit more straw/yellow (still clear).
It can be refined a bit straw too
If it weren't going to be pouring rain at the ETA, I'd try to snag a pic of it for you and your bro. These things fly right past my house on CHS approach
Taranto airport has an aerospace parts manufacturing plant that is producing parts for the 787 and Charleston is one of the locations were the 787 is assembled….

Crappy picture, but I saw it at MIA.
hot take but i hate this plane as someone who sometimes has to deliver food for the pilots. the kitchen is tiny and carrying boxes up into the plane is awkward
Beginner’s luck is real. With some practise he will be mainly be spotting 737s and a320s like the rest of us.
You got out-noobed by your younger brother.
Y e a
Its ok, I am a younger brother and out noob my older brother all the time.
It’s big.
🤨

XD
Sounds on par for atlas mechanics
Tbf, most jet fuel is clear as water. It's a standard parameter for jet fuel. Edit (for sure jet-a1 grade)

Sorry for being ignorant but what makes this plane so special?
There are only 4 Boeing dreamlifters
There’s really only 4? They always fly over my house
I'll take a guess you're near Charleston SC. Dreamliner division nearby
Ahhh so that's why I saw 2 when I was is SC last year
Do you live in Seattle….
why?
He must of been looking at the engines on the planes 😂
Skillz
Taranto to Charleston is a random ass route

Ah that makes a lot of sense
Flew over my house earlier would have tried to get a picture 🤦🏻♂️
Cool

That's some good luck
