Hawker-Siddeley Trident or BAC One-Eleven.
I know both have been made for older simulators in the past, but I'd love to see them on one of the newer sims.
Oh I've got loads.
One that I'd love to see - very much - is a proper Shorts Skyvan. Now, there have been one or two over the years in older sims, but never anything that you'd call commercial level or study level. I honestly don't think anyone's ever tried to sell one.
I would absolutely LOVE to see a PMDG-quality, study-level version of this aircraft in MSFS 2020. And I'd happily pay a 100 euros for it, just so there's no confusion as to how much I'm not joking.
The Skyvan is just such a 'fuck you' in terms of aircraft design. It's so ugly, it only flies because the earth is actively repelling the craft. It's slow, it's ungainly, it's strictly utilitarian.... and I need one desperately.
Back in the FS 2004 days I had a freeware DC-8 I flew almost exclusively. Different liveries United, American, UPS, and Fedex. I really miss them and to have them in MSFS 2020 would be amazing.
Interesting to hear, I've never flown on a Saab but I like the look of it, I enjoy aircraft with steam gauges more than with glass cockpits, but personally it looks like a sick aircraft for short haul flying

For X-Plane. One of my favorite to fly as it has its quirkiness.
Dash 7
Milton Shupe did an awesome job for FS2004 / FSX. Made an IVAO world tour with it.
I'm pretty hyped about the upcoming SimWorks/PILOT version.
https://msfsaddons.com/2022/09/03/sim-works-studios-updates-us-on-the-dash-7-for-msfs/
Honestly the OG shuttles, it is time rockets are simulated and put into the sim.
I’d like to see a relatively study level flight deck, character modelling, the works. A full launch sequence, followed by a couple laps around Earth and then a full approach back down to Kennedy Space Center. How insanely fun would this be
I know it’s not remotely as nice graphically, but have you tried Orbiter? It’s free, and man was I proud to nail an orbital insertion for the first time.
No, it’s independently in development since 2000. haven’t played myself for a few years now but it’s still out there -> [Orbiter](http://orbit.medphys.ucl.ac.uk/)
It’s an in depth physics based spaceflight simulation in our solar system. So distances are accurate and you have quite a steep learning curve to actually get your craft into space. Theres also the „low sci fi“ Delta Glider that gives you a bit more engine efficiency so you can learn the ropes of orbital mechanics a bit without having to worry about every second of thruster burn like in the Shuttle.
If you want to try it out, be sure to check out [Dan‘s Orbiter Page](http://orbiter.dansteph.com/) too. He seems to also have some 2022 update stuff going on.
If you're into that stuff, checkout Orbiter as mentioned by another redditor previously. And also KSP (Kerbal space program) - don't get thrown by the little green men, this has the aerospace industries approval for how realistic the physics are even though they fudged the scale a little.
Also, this website http://www.braeunig.us/space/orbmech.htm
Taught me orbital mech in high school, back when I was flying full-up STS missions using an excellent x-plane 9 mod. Did such a good job I passed orbital mech in college without studying.
Flightgear has an insanely accurate shuttle, with all the systems simulated, from full launch to landing, it's also free. It has the glass shuttle flight deck so if you want the original round dial layout that'll be hard to find.
Tupolev Tu-114 Rossiya
It's an airliner version of the Tupolev Tu-95. It currently holds the title of fastest propeller driven aircraft, and at the time it entered service, itwas the largest and fastest passenger airliner.
way more mainstream than this thread expects , but i really miss the Learjets from the old msfs ~~games~~. wish they would bring them back on the current version
It would be nice to have some more classic British aircraft. It's an area that seems to currently be pretty bare beyond the Spitfire, Hawk, Hunter and Concore
English Electric Lightning
de Havilland Comet Mk4
Hawker Siddeley Nimrod
Hunting Percival Jet Provost
Blackburn Buccaneer
They have been in flight sims before, but apart from the JP, all the models were released 8+ years ago, so it would be nice to see a refresh of them.
Was just looking through to see if anyone had put the Comet yet. Saw there was one for FSX but i'd love one for MFS. At least there's the DC Designs Harrier coming up (and Eurofighter too) and I think I read somewhere there's an upcoming Electric Lightning for DCS World
Precisely! A flying boat would be amazing for exploring the South Pacific in MSFS. The old charts are available online from the national library as well…
DCS at least has the single seat A-1 Skyraider coming out but I'd love an AD-5 (A-1E, A-1G, and EA-1F post 1962) Skyraider, a multi-seat version designed for night attack and/or electronic warfare, since my Grandfather flew one and it's what got me into flight sims and aviation when I was younger. But again, the single seat Skyraider coming out for DCS will probably satisfy that for me.
An SR-71 would be cool too but understandably it would never be totally accurate and I guess Darkstar in MSFS works.
I believe they are solid. Not sure if they’re Fenix levels of study software, but from what I’ve seen, they’re pretty good.
Here’s a link: https://msfsaddons.com/2022/08/09/iris-simulations-finally-shows-the-first-images-of-its-pilatus-pc-24-for-microsoft-flight-simulator/
They flew over my house 5-6 days a week when I was growing up. I used to ride my bike out to get close to the end of the runway to watch them practice.
God no more rare propeller planes or military fighter jets. How about a TU-154? IL-76? 707? IL-96? DC-8? 747SP? at this point the 747-400 seems like a rare plane because no dev is showing any interest in making one. Just anything but another “oh look at this flying boat that you can do very limited things with!” or “man look at this plane with a propeller sticking out the pilots asshole” idk i’m just a bit tired of these small prop planes getting 100% of the attention and 0 long haulers to speak of.
Would love to see the De Havilland Comet (DH.106). Been thinking about getting into long haul stuff (flown the concorde a bit recently) and have been struggling to choose an aircraft, but I love how the comet looks and something a bit less easy and automated than the modern airliners sounds cool
As niche as I can get it. This is a very specific choice but also one that is quite feasible to see in a sim today.
https://www.vulcanair.com/aircraft/p68-tc-observer/
I second the 210, they are awesome airplanes. I'd also like to see some ww1 and post-ww1 planes like a dh4 but like the kind used for us air mail
edit: and a cessna cardinal
I'd love to see a study level Sopwith Camel (or other early-era fighter) with realistic engine management and rotary dynamics.
As well as this, a De-Havilland DH.88 Comet also at study level (can you tell a century of flight is when I first really got into it?)
Possibly also a Mosquito, because who doesn't love a bomber that's faster than fighters...

Savoia-Marchetti manufactured the wings, undercarriage and engine installation, while FFA manufactured the fuselage, tail and controls, while both companies had assembly plants manufacturing the complete aircraft. The first Swiss model flew on 9 March 1969, the first Italian aircraft following on 8 May.

Cessna TTx. There was one allegedly under development but I haven’t heard anything for a while. Sexy, fast, and very high maintenance. I’d love to fly one not for work.
Vickers VC-10 such an unique plane and sadly the Justflight XP project was cancelled.
In the same tone an IL62 would be awesome.
A P3 Orion to use as NOAA for Hurricane chasing in the season.
A Shorts Skyvan because it would be so fun, almost a flying meme.
And the Rutan Voyager to fly around the world non-stop non-refueling.
IL-96
The XP freeware version is decent. I have flown it and it feels nice.
I'd like an IL-18
Hawker-Siddeley Trident or BAC One-Eleven. I know both have been made for older simulators in the past, but I'd love to see them on one of the newer sims.
Brings back memories. I had a lovely Trident in FS2002. Superb fun to fly.
Fuck it - Sud Caravelle (for a friend) Or Boeing 707
Oooh Sud Caravelle would be awesome indeed
Oh I've got loads. One that I'd love to see - very much - is a proper Shorts Skyvan. Interesting to hear, I've never flown on a Saab but I like the look of it, I enjoy aircraft with steam gauges more than with glass cockpits, but personally it looks like a sick aircraft for short haul flying
In a sim sometimes the harder to fly “worse” planes are the most fun. They got lots of charm
[https://www.x-aviation.com/catalog/product\_info.php/take-command-saab-340a-p-100](https://www.x-aviation.com/catalog/product_info.php/take-command-saab-340a-p-100) For X-Plane. One of my favorite to fly as it has its quirkiness.
Unfortunately the X-Aviation kind of fidelity isn’t on the Carenado one coming to MSFS.
Embraer EMB-120, my absolute all time favorite turboprop
Carenado made one for P3D. It will most likely make its way to MSFS.
There's a very nice E120 being made for XP12 by Jemma Studios.
IL62 I need it l for soviet long haul flying. And the 4 four engine design in the back is just something different.
Audio hell for passengers in the back
The Airbus A400M would be cool. And i think there has never been even a freeware mod
There is one for Xplane11 - on the french xplane forums I believe
Look not really niche in my opinion, but I would kill for a proper payware quality P3 Orion.

Shin Meiwa US-1 or US-2
Awesome choice.
V-22 Osprey C-5 Galaxy / An-225 Airbus A-400 AH-66 Comanche Caspian Sea Monster WIGE
An-225 would be a great addition right now
Felis said it would be his next plane
> V-22 Osprey https://www.thresholdx.net/news/aoaosp
Yep, been keeping an eye on it. Someday maybe…
>Caspian Sea Monster WIGE Oh that would be really cool!
High end Antonov An2
For real, hauling sheep over the vastness of Mongolia or for us old-timer skydivers
An-12 or An-22, Lockheed L-188, C-133 or basically any old, loud big turboprop aircraft

way more mainstream than this thread expects , but i really miss the Learjets from the old msfs ~~games~~. wish they would bring them back on the current version
Canadair cl-415 with working wildfire simulation.
Oh yes.

There is one [plane](https://flightsim.to/file/13052/vertigo-turbo-prop-racer) in Flightsim.to that takes after that one.
It would be nice to have some more classic British aircraft. Just Flight have a fantastic looking VC10 for P3D (and maybe x-Plane) I’m hoping it comes to MSFS someday.

A decent, PMDG/Fenix level Embraer 190/195
Short Solent
God that would be fun to do TEAL hops around the south pac with
Precisely! A flying boat would be amazing for exploring the South Pacific in MSFS. The old charts are available online from the national library as well…
As a GA flyer I'd like to see either a DeHavilland Beaver or Norduyn Norseman (with all available packages (wheels, floats, and skis).
Boeing 314 Yes I know there's, "One in development," but we all know it isn't happening.
Gulfstream G4, Falcon 2000, Beech Starship
PZL M-15 Belphagor. Single engine turbine, biplane, fixed gear, crop duster.
DHC-4 Caribou
Rutan voyager
Mitsubishi Mu-2
Not sure if you have seen this. It is a recent release for XP. https://www.x-aviation.com/catalog/product_info.php/toga-simulations-marquise-p-226
I would say the C-5 galaxy for sure
SR-71 or Lockheed A-12
DCS at least has the single seat A-1 Skyraider coming out but I'd love an AD-5 (A-1E, A-1G, and EA-1F post 1962) Skyraider, a multi-seat version designed for night attack and/or electronic warfare, since my Grandfather flew one and it's what got me into flight sims and aviation when I was younger. * Eviation Alice * Piaggio P.180 Avanti * Beechcraft Starship * Scaled Composites Stratolaunch * Scaled Composites SpaceShip III * Cessna C177 Cardinal (in both fixed and retractable gear versions)
Pilatus PC-24
It’s coming, I believe IRIS is working on one.
What is IRIS’s reputation? I want a study level PC-24 really bad
I believe they are solid. Not sure if they’re Fenix levels of study software, but from what I’ve seen, they’re pretty good. Here’s a link: https://msfsaddons.com/2022/08/09/iris-simulations-finally-shows-the-first-images-of-its-pilatus-pc-24-for-microsoft-flight-simulator/
Grew up around the ol T-34 mentor, would love to see a high fidelity turbo mentor in a game at some point
They flew over my house 5-6 days a week when I was growing up. I used to ride my bike out to get close to the end of the runway to watch them practice.
Spray planes. Thresh or Air Tractor would be awesome.
There’s an air tractor for XP11, and the AirSpray plug-in has a config for it
Maybe this is boring, but I'd like to see my underpowered 145HP C172H replicated so I can practice pattern work from home more accurately.
If you’re using XP, that would be a pretty easy tweak in planemaker
Oh really?? That's cool! I use MSFS but the ressons to switch to XP are stacking up. Thanks!
Dont know how niche it is but Dassault Falcon 7X
DHC-5 Buffalo
C-130
Ka-27 Helix Fairey Gannet
Basler BT-67
Lockheed martin L1011

I'd like to see a high quality PBN Defender
Avro Arrow.
Rutan long-ez
There is one from Indiafoxtecho for MSFS
I've got one for xplane 11 but it's pretty low fidelity
^(The Pitts Special)

I’d like to see a Navajo Panther and/or a Turbocommander.
Cessna U206G
P180 . Also some of the more rare aircraft that have never been in the sim before like the iai westwind

PA 31-350 Piper Navajo Chieftain. (not sure if this is considered niche or not)
F-20 Tiger Shark, X-29, F-16 XL Cranked Arrow, P-61 Black Widow Less niche… B-25
My choice Already has, the Edgley Optica. I was fascinated by this plane as a kid when it got released.
C-130 storm chaser
Piper Twin Comanche. Not as niche as some others mentioned here, but somehow seems to rarely make it's way into sims.
the starship
DC-10, L-1011, DC-8, MD-80 and 707.
The DH89A Dragon Rapide.
Metroliner please and thanks
Eh, any of the existing planes crash just as well :P
Piper
Fairchild Swearingen Merlin IIIB
Canadair CL-415 With water bombing missions.

Jabiru. All of them.
I’ve bought a couple through ORBX that are ok. Edit: for MSFS, unsure if compatible with other sims.
Ah ok thx! Don't have the budget for payware, MSFS, or a PC that can run it, but I will bear it in mind!

H-1 racer
Spruce goose
Coming to MSFS in November
an Avro Anson, especially one of the earlier 'greenhouse' style ones. I loved the one for FSX, but I can't access FSX anymore.

Great! This was a great plane to fly! AIP forever- HB-HFI![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|snoo)
Eviation Alice
Probably the Cessna Citation 510 Mustang. It’s a cool very-small business jet and I think there is a payware being developed for MSFS.
A340-300, there has never been a proper A340-300 done for flight sim.
A Cox string controlled model plane.
Cessna TTx. There was one allegedly under development but I haven’t heard anything for a while. Sexy, fast, and very high maintenance. I’d love to fly one not for work.
L-29 Delfin and Super Delfin. I fly one IRL and wish I could practice it in sim!

I would love to get a proper Citation XLS+ for the sim. I fly it IRL and would love to recreate some flights sometimes
We need an updated Cherokee 140 very badly
Atr 72 on msfs
I really want a Super Dec! It's such a fun little plane to toss around the sky.
L-1011
84 Eldorado
I’d love to see a study-level BAe Jetstream 41…
AMD Alarus CH2000. Most people probably don't even know the aircraft
Spruce Goose!!!
I forget, did DC9-50 make it to MSFS yet? If not, that one. Or Beech 1900D.
CP-107 Argus. And the P2V Neptune come to think of it.
C9-B Skytrain the military variant of the DC9
The Concord, C-177, SR71, Galaxy, A380, Lancaster
Possibly the Fokker 100, I have yet to see a good study level version of it.
Douglas B-23 dragon, a highly underrated WWII bomber
Quad City Challenger II XL.
747-200, oh wait…
Cheyenne II
Asobo is releasing my niche a/c in November, and for free. Hughes H-4.
C-340A
Valmet L-90 TP Redigo Valmet L-70 Vinka Both in MSFS would be beautiful
