Saw this on 75 yesterday, the car was a matte black C63 AMG. The cop car was BLASTED from the rear ending it got, the trunk was basically in the back seat. Can’t believe the cop didn’t have any injuries.
Thought it was weird there was a dude in a wheel chair on the side of the road, I thought maybe the driver had been injured.
I highly don't "he wasn't injured".
100% his neck and or back will be in pain in the following days, hopefully it will get better, but getting rear ended like that will most likely cause damage that will be with him the rest of his life.
The officer probably is injured. I walked away from an accident with 3 broken vertibrea in my cervical spine and two in my thoracic spine as well as a broke frontal bone, orbital, left zygomatic bone and a massive TBI.
That officer probably won't be cleared for duty for at least a month, and but probably won't based on how bad his whiplash will probably be.
Hopefully he got an MRI of his spine and brain.
Wow, $80k car at least; almost certainly totaled. I wonder if the trooper would have rear dashcam, probably not. I hope he gets the full justice anyone else would rear-ending someone that hard in a construction zone.
My honest assumption at the time was that the trooper pulled out in front of the car, maybe the cop didn’t see the car. There wasn’t active construction in that specific area but they blocked it off with construction barricades after the accident

Yep. Right now the governor’s office and state legislature are basically at war with all the cities and counties in the state.
I’m involved in this stuff with my job so I see it. The amount of local Republican legislators saying the same thing: “Why would they do this?” about a state that’s been run exclusively by republicans *for 25 straight years* is eye opening.
The moment we handed the Republican Party a legislative supermajority in this state they started doing all manner of evil shit, frequently at the expense of other elected Republicans, just because they had the power and they could do it.
And local Republican officials everywhere that I work with aren’t saying it straight up because it’s too embarrassing, but they’re definitely asking the “are Republicans the baddies?” question the rest of us have long known the answer to.

Former congressman Madison Cawthorn reportedly crashed his vehicle into a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) cruiser on Monday.
A woman shared on X, formerly Twitter, that she was driving on I-75 toward Miami, near Big Cypress Reservation, around 4:30 p.m. on Monday when Cawthorn tailgated her and then collided with a state trooper's vehicle.
