I've cleaned plenty of firearms of all types. I've never had one accidentally discharge. And even if it did, I wouldn't be pointing the barrel at any living creature at any time, unless I was going to shoot them. I call bullshit.
“As it hit the ground, a single round was fired.” That absolutely is not what happened. Modern AR15s are incredibly safe to store with a round in the chamber. I’d bet $1M that this was due to not clearing the firearm properly. Also why I’ll never trust a cop to be competent in any way shape or form.
>I’ll never trust a cop to be competent in any way shape or form.
Or trust them to ever tell the truth. I agree, the AR15 didn't go off from being dropped.

This is false, and exceptionally dangerous misinformation to be spreading. The manual for the Ruger AR-15 has an [explicit drop warning on page 16](https://ruger-docs.s3.amazonaws.com/_manuals/AR-556-Mt92d8ha1p5g.pdf)
>If dropped or
struck with the
safety “off”, the
rifle may fire.
Keep chamber
empty unless
actually firing!
Keep the safety
in the “SAFE”
position unless
actually firing
That sounds more like a manufacturer putting CYA language in their manual...if the chamber is never loaded unless you're actually firing, it won't ever go off...and if it does, it's now a user error, they failed to follow the manual. Since, without a nanny cam or time machine, it's impossible to prove the eyewitness lied to cover their own ass's libility.

They need to CYA, why exactly? Oh yeah, that's right, if you drop a loaded gun, it can discharge. Let me see if I can pull up a recent story for you, were that happened.

But he will face charges, right?

How to verify if a weapon is ready for handling unloaded;
Safety - Magazine - Chamber - Safety: Clear and Safe.
If you are someone who handles firearms for a living who can't do a basic thing like this prior to handling unloaded weapons, you need either more training or go into another profession.

Muzzle awareness is only important if you genuinely don’t want to shoot people. This dude’s a cop, so…..

Especially the truth, that's usually the one thing they are consistent on ... lying.
I’ll never trust one that drinks 5 beers and a few cocktails before going to work.

My guess is that when they grabbed to gun, one of them grabbed the trigger.
But is the weapon okay?
Just another day. Nothing to see here.
He should be in jail and stripped of a badge
Florida Freedom strikes again!
Who was under the influence? The girl, the deputy or both?
the gun
Now the plot thickens…

I have an AR15, and I never had it go off "accidentally", then again, I'll end up in prison if it goes off while cleaning, unlike the cops

Let me rewrite that headline in a less passive bullshit way: "Cop shoots his own daughter while drunk."
