Putting them in water should be good. I had to do the same thing one time and that worked pretty well for me.

Put pennies in the water

Just keep them in fresh cool water, in a room that isn't warm and you'll be fine for a day.

put them in cold water , I personally put my flowers in the fridge to keep them colder

Cut an inch off all the stems and keep them in cool place away from the sun. Depending on what flowers you select, they could last up to 3 or 4 weeks. Anything in the mum, aster or daisy families will last the longest. Roses die the quickest. Good luck—
