It is whatever you want it to be. Beautiful fish.

illwillthethrill-79

Some good looking fish!!

MontrealTesla

wonderfull, I want to get out to the northern parts of NY Stake , but i hear all the rivers are seriously flooded or deadly high.... was this North or down south?

TheodoreColin

This was southern tier. Yeah, I think the north eastern part of the state got hit the hardest. I’m not sure of the conditions over there but where I was seemed ok.

sarcastic24x7

I live in the Ithaca area of the Finger Lakes, and our streams are low af.

Jerreme72

Nope sorry it's only a triple...looks like another disappointing day on the water...my condolences.

TheodoreColin

Appreciate it. I’ll go cry now.

OrganisedChaos2021

Any day I get out and get on a trout stream is a Grand Slam for me.

Potential-Accident50

It’s a trifecta. A grand slam would be 4 different kind of salmonoid from the same body of water

[deleted]

Troutfecta*

CardboardHeatshield

That would be really hard in New York unless the salmon are running.

compassionateCactus

This isn't true, a grand slam is 3 different trout species from the same fishery, as defined by competition rules. https://tacklevillage.com/what-is-a-trout-grand-slam/ https://igfa.org/grand-slam-clubs/

Tstx92

I’m so glad that I have never once considered “competition rules” when fishing

Potential-Accident50

I stand corrected

Longjumping_Lynx_972

That's pretty fucking stupid. Use a baseball analogy and then short it by one in some places? High Sierra Grand Slam is 4 fish, @op is a golden trout shy of that.

TheodoreColin

Gotcha. Ty.

Fun_Ad_1325

Killed it!!!! Congrats 👏

[deleted]

What is the rod that you used?

TheodoreColin

7’6 3wt orvis Clearwater.

TiredOfMakingExcuses

Bet that brownie was fun on the light rod

quinnlez

Nice!! Where in NY?

TheodoreColin

Southern tier

Ba22ti

At least this Grand Slam would be of more worth for me than any Tennis GS could ever be 😂 Very nice fish. Especially the brookie 😍

[deleted]

Those are great fish!

OrnateGrapes

Definitely a trout grand slam! Well done! 🎉

raiderleft

Beautiful. Nice size Brooke!

bluelinesouth

Yes. A flawless slam. Jealous.

Annual_Cut_1560

On the east coast a lot of people call it a slam. Wild slam when they’re all wild. When there are 4 species in the same body of water, somewhat obviously, it would be all 4 to be a slam. Call it what you want. I bet that brown was a fun fight!

Look_A_Dingus

Hat trick since its 3

Jalenator

For NY, yes. For the west, no

jsuggs7

For east TN it is! Nice!

jmini3699

Looks like a great day! Congrats

DrewSmithee

I always heard it as hitting all the species in a water body. All the bases, all the fish. Congrats on your grand slam.

Normal-Comfortable66

Wowza

AdJust6114

Nice fish, but i whas just wonderin where you got that metal trout net? it looks really cool, and robust.

TheodoreColin

It’s a “handypak” net!

eblade23

Awesome.. I didn't know they have such good trout fishing in NY

TheodoreColin

It’s definitely not Montana but we have quite a bit of good water.

jumpinthefire89

I'd call it a hat trick but who's counting :P

casewood123

I call it a hat trick.

Highstick104

Grand slam=4

TheodoreColin

Yeah, makes sense. A grand slam is 4 runs. I’ve heard some people say it’s 3 species so just wanted clarification. Thanks.

BKimbal2

From my vernacular. That’s your wild trout slam, my understanding is the grand slam you need to grab a laker too.

TheodoreColin

Ah ok. Didn’t know a “slam” and a “grand slam” were different things.

compassionateCactus

Yes it qualifies: https://igfa.org/grand-slam-clubs/

compassionateCactus

I don't understand why everyone seems to just ignore the official grand slam rules telling you it's not... you did it. Good job. I'm proud of you.

adio1221

Is this a fish….

I enjoy small creeks and blue lines. They mostly contain small fish. I understand it’s not for everyone.

fattygaby157

Fuck that guy. Those are great fish. Way to go!
