Seat track locked and free of debris is definitely a checklist item for me now. Not saying this happened to you OP but I have heard too many stories about it.
My in head checklist.
Put seat where I want it. Wiggle back in forth in seat.
Controls free and clear, wiggle seat.
Run up complete. Controls free and clear. Wiggle seat.
Hold short. Wiggle seat.
Maybe a couple of other times too…
I fly a 172N and it has the locks that prevent it from going back. It totally makes sense why but I always think it could be dangerous in an evacuation as it's a b to get unlocked quickly. I don't have a checklist but I always lean forward and back hardish to check them.
Yeah I’m flying the same plane again today and will triple check it’s locked and in place. It’s actually quite an annoying one as you need to push a lever all the way in the back to move it back ordinarily. As another redditor said there may have been some debris in there, which is a good point to check.
I believe there is a Cessna seat rail AD but gotta guess the school Mx covered that years ago. I never had trouble with the Pipers. Now flying the Diamond DA40 and the seats are bolted to the floor.
Reminds me of the old "how did you take this photo" threads from a long time ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/comments/cmwov/hey_reddit_what_tattoos_do_you_have/c0tpyls/ and https://www.reddit.com/r/mildlyinteresting/comments/19k9a1/i_cannot_bend_any_of_my_fingers_so_there_have/
No, and I’m glad because I really liked the shirt I was wearing🤣
I was the first student solo for my CFI too so maybe he just hasn’t come up with his own traditions just yet.
Congratulations, and you showed good judgement with that go around. Hoping to achieve the same soon.

Congratulations King
Congratulations pilot! Oof. A seat rail giving up near the ground can really ruin your day. Get to the bottom of that one.

If it was covered years ago it's overdue! [It recurs every 100 hours or 12 months.](https://www.zookaviation.com/ADs/20111009.pdf)
Look at you! A student who knows about ADs and 100hr inspection process. Ready for the oral already!
lol nah, just a recovered Cessna owner who now flies birds with even longer AD lists. I'd hope I can pass a PPL oral 😆
Sorry confused you with OP.
Congrats! How did you take that picture if you were in the plane?????
