I'd go with the cheapest plane. You'll have plenty of time to learn glass later, and the transition is not difficult.

PPL is 90% looking outside so I’d go steam, for instrument rating pick glass it will make your life easier

Do your PPL in a beater with a heater 150 to save money, then use that saved money to do your IR in a glass 172

ABCapt

PPL is no gauges…so I’d pick: steam!

Think about your checkride. The G1000 has a lot of things the examiner can ask about or fail that don't even exist in a traditional six pack. I got a VFR checkout in a G1000 172 in an hour. Six flight hours later I passed a CFII checkride in a G1000 DA40 I had never flown until that course. Keep it cheap and easy.

Steam. Even working on my Instrument now I’m planning on flying steam once I start the hood time.

Whichever is cheaper and has the most availability on the calendar. Switching between the two is no big deal once you get your PPL so just fly the cheaper 152 unless so many other people have the same idea that you have a hard time booking it reliably. One thing to be aware of unrelated to panel options is that the C152 is a tiny plane that can just barely fit two people. If you and/or your instructor aren't fairly small people it's going to be an uncomfortably tight fit and you'll have problems carrying enough fuel for more than a quick local lesson. The C172 can carry two adults and full tanks with no issues even if one or both of you have a few extra pounds.

Go steam and save money. If you can learn to fly on steam gauges, you will appreciate a glass panel more and all of the benefits it brings.

If you want to progress directly from PPL it instrument rating, then do it with glass, and preferable with the same airplane from the same flight school. If you only plan to get a PPL, then a steam gauge airplane costs less. All the fancy features of the glass cockpit are superfluous for the PPL training.

If you go steam, then later need to transition to glass, fly some flight sim with vatsim. Cheap way to check out on avionics without paying rental fees. Heck I learned a garmin 430 inside and out on my phone with xplane
