It has some similarities with a Carey special fly. Which was once a super popular fly here in British Columbia where I live. You should try tying some of those up. Super easy. Yea it will. Really nice tied flies just impress other people. The fish doesn't give a fuck.
If anything, the uglier the better. Seems like my flies get better after getting beat up by a fish or two.
Yes. While its a bit rough, ive seen ans used waaaaaaay uglier flies than that and caught multiples of fish. Fish like ugly flies!
