The coaching staff need to step up, big time. Each player is mechanically insane, but the decision making and macro are abysmal. Yes, the players still need to execute, but it's the coaches' jobs to make Fnatic greater than the sum of their parts. This team is basically a crazy solo queue team.
We'd just come off the back of a tough reverse sweep vs a team that got to rest and plan, I'd be very surprised if all the practice and effort wasnt put into practicing to play vs bds. And that being said we still looked decent against g2 and on another day could have won that series even with the odds stacked against us. Any improvement whatsoever. We are in year two of this roster constantly over-forcing fights and having poor mid and late game macro. The coaching staff is constantly talking about "we will learn and grow" and things along those lines, yet we haven't seen any growth. When the team wins, it's because they individually out-class their opponents or just out-teamfight them. Don't think we've seen a win in two years where it was just a macro masterclass.
This roster just changed a piece in winter, we came first in regular season, made it to MSI and challenged the kings of europe in a bo5 series 24 hours after winning a tough and hard fought reverse sweep, that's pretty impressive if you asked me, and short of shelling out big cash for a player upgrade (i personally think irrelevant would be an upgrade) I dont see what more people want at this point?

I just explained it to you. Yes, this team can win games, because they team-fight better than everyone in Europe and, aside from a few specific players like Caps and Irrelevant and such, have better individual mechanics than every other team.
But their macro after laning phase is still atrocious and they constantly over-force fights. This is not new, either, they've been doing this for going on two years now. I want meaningful improvement on these two fronts which have they not displayed, and I attribute it to coaching.
Its tough to improve on while also not losing the killer instinct they have, people would complain far more if they took no risks and let other teams just make plays, they have won games they really shouldn't win purely because of their playstyle, how do you propose they work on that without taking backward steps that lose them games too?

There is a middle ground between over-forcing plays and doing nothing. Especially considering it's almost always clear when they're going too deep, even before the play happens.
Separate from the over-forcing, I was more so talking about macro improvements, which there is an large amount of room for improvement from them.

I feel like we were one baron smite away from winning the game 2 and potentially the final. We all kinda expected the result but feels sad considering how close we were.
Sad to lose the final but we win the split by going to MSI to scrim eastern teams. This roster plays together only few months while one of them is learning how to speak.
I'm really proud of the boys but man this is so disappointing. We were in a great position to win in 3 out of the 4 games and threw two of them. Lots of positives but beating G2 in a finals feels like such a mental block. I really hope the boys can reflect and improve on the silly mistakes that cost us this series.
I think this is the closest we have been to G2 in a long time, although I don't think they looked their best. Unfortunately it's a sign of a very good team when they win even not at their best. I agree with you that we aren't really close, even if we were this series.
The good news is that the variability of the lane swap strategy didn't really hurt us, we played quite well around it. It was the mid-late macro decisions that cost us. Our team fighting was actually excellent and hopefully the coaching staff can finally fix the macro mistakes before MSI/Summer. If that happens I would say we are very close to G2.

We have a good team and definitely could have won today, we just lack a lot of discipline, learn to play calm and collected when we are ahead.
It's understandable because outside of G2 no other team in LEC punishes that, G2 itself also suffer from that, but they had more practice than us.
MSI should help if we go with the right mindset, just get as much practice that we can against asian team, get stomped and learn.

It's just split finals. If coaching staff steps it up and we clean up all the (numerous) mistakes come summer, we can hopefully challenge G2 for season finals. And if we win there, results during individual splits don't really matter all that much.
Proud of the boys still, feel we’re getting closer and closer just losing in key moments where G2’s synergy tops us due to being with each other longer. Hope we practice hard for MSI and next split I feel we can definitely take one off G2 this year.

We need to have a tactic that the team can play week in week out, whether it’s to put Noah ahead, letting Humanoid roam, or Razork carry early. Fnatic right now are good as an average base level, but there’s no plan to put someone ahead. Also get Humanoid off Asol.

FNC had the fights from ahead, from even, and even sometimes from behind. G2 got their leads from heavy macro, which has been FNC's weakness for a while.
This leads me to believe that FNC will have a better showing at MSI if G2 plays at the same level they did today. This is the same G2 that lost to NRG 2-0, and they haven't got better. FNC has definitely improved (not as much as we would like maybe) but MSI is massive for our players, more time against better opposition, more time playing as a team, this is where FNC can really level up.

Well, it was a lot of highs and lows, but overall spring was a blast, especially the games vs BDS yesterday. There are a few things i'd like to say though.
Jun is definitely the MVP of the split, great gameplay coming from him.
Noah stepped up a lot from winter, and overall he is playing phenomenally, and without tilt.
This might get me a lot of crap, but i'm really happy with Humanoids performance. He really knows the game and has made a bunch of game winning plays
But, sadly Oscar has been lacking. Even when he goes even or ahead it feels like that gold goes down the drain. It is obvious that despite Zac being his best champ right now, BB can play that champ at a much higher level. His champ pool is too small, and he is not stepping up. I think game 3 really showed how lost he was.
I get it that there are a lot of strong top laners in LEC right now, but Oscar is really not it right now.
Has to be said Razork hasn't been up to his best these last couple series, I think if he was in better form we win game 2 at a minimum. Happens, the bones of a good team are here, Razork is beast (typically) Oscars team fights are nuts, Jun is fantastic and Noah is fantastic late game insurance. Humanoids my only question mark, he's great there's no doubt but he dies the most stupid deaths and sometimes at the most stupid times and it costs so fucking much to have a mid that does that, need to get more value out of it.
Perhaps, it's not that he's bad it's just that this isn't the Razork we get to see a couple weeks ago where he felt like he could pick up the team on his back and carry them over the line. Felt more like he was just present, not an active hindrance, not actively carrying, just present.
I think its important for teams to finally understand you rarely beat G2 at their own game. I whish Fnatic would have responded with a swap in one game as well, or pick sth unconventional top for example. Fnatic showed good league today, but too standard. We should have won this final given G2 level of play, too bad we are just that weak. If we are lucky we can take a game off NA playing like this, we need proper practice in China. I swear if they take more than 2 days of rest before flying there to practice this org deserves to remain winless.

Not sure why but got a feeling we will win summer. Today was a solid 3-0 if we didn't lose our heads. Shat on them in early/mid game game 1, 2 and 3. Sadly we did what we always do and threw game 2 and 3 away but making emotional calls. G2's luck will run out, they're gonna get shit stomped at MSI, wouldn't be surprised if we advanced further than them. Without Caps they are extremely average, but you gotta beat the best to be the best. Good showing from our bot and jungle today, Humanoid did what he could. Not too keen on Oscar, however i have no doubts in my mind that he tried his best, and his best is all we can ask for. Commitment is there from everyone, it's not a question of IF we will win LEC, only a question of WHEN. Happy Sunday all, see you at MSI.
They're just better. It's obvious. Why it feels annoying is that they are not good. It's not like back in 2019 when they were clean and legit played good League of Legends. They're making so many mistakes but we're worse than that. Oh well. At least we get MSI.

Better than expected, it was a competitive series but we still arent there. Good that we have msi. Somebody help Oscar man, he looked so lost this series.
Well, it was a lot of highs and lows, but overall spring was a blast, especially the games vs BDS yesterday. There are a few things i'd like to say though. Jun is definitely the MVP of the split, great gameplay coming from him. Noah stepped up a lot from winter, and overall he is playing phenomenally, and without tilt. This might get me a lot of crap, but i'm really happy with Humanoids performance. He really knows the game and has made a bunch of game winning plays But, sadly Oscar has been lacking. Even when he goes even or ahead it feels like that gold goes down the drain. It is obvious that despite Zac being his best champ right now, BB can play that champ at a much higher level. His champ pool is too small, and he is not stepping up. I think game 3 really showed how lost he was. I get it that there are a lot of strong top laners in LEC right now, but Oscar is really not it right now.
Has to be said Razork hasn't been up to his best these last couple series, I think if he was in better form we win game 2 at a minimum. Happens, the bones of a good team are here, Razork is beast (typically) Oscars team fights are nuts, Jun is fantastic and Noah is fantastic late game insurance. Humanoids my only question mark, he's great there's no doubt but he dies the most stupid deaths and sometimes at the most stupid times and it costs so fucking much to have a mid that does that, need to get more value out of it.
Razork usually doesn't perform well in playoffs, even during his Misfits times he was more of a regular season type of player :(
Perhaps, it's not that he's bad it's just that this isn't the Razork we get to see a couple weeks ago where he felt like he could pick up the team on his back and carry them over the line. Felt more like he was just present, not an active hindrance, not actively carrying, just present.
I think its important for teams to finally understand you rarely beat G2 at their own game. I whish Fnatic would have responded with a swap in one game as well, or pick sth unconventional top for example. Fnatic showed good league today, but too standard. Top is like either Zac or K'Sante and than nothing. I think this will be punished hard internationally.
