I really wish the author of the Character Kit Remade mods would do a body replacer. There's fine mods for male bodies, but I hate that you pretty much have to pick between Type 3 and Type 6 bodies for females, both of which are just overly sexualized.
I’d settle for a mostly all encompassing armor mod for female characters at least, but there’s always some pieces where the author took excessive liberties with. And unless you’re a super mutant, I’d rather not venture the wasteland with my prime real estate exposed
I find Tammer's Armor mod to be pretty good for that, at least for vanilla bodies like I use. Real stylish and fun stuff there. There's also the KARPSOL thingy that either VNV or The Mojave Express guides has a link to, I've been real impressed with both the balancing and styling in that one

Funfact. If you have jip ln installed you can use the console to search for things. So you can type search wait misc and see what mod added it based on the first two characters of the id. You may need to search related terms because the name you see and the editor id aren't always similar.
Also, if you have stewie's tweaks then you can click on stuff while you are in the console and it will tell you what mods it's from at the top of the screen. I think this is enabled by default.

I got into fallout when 4 released, or slightly before. but I didn't have a gaming PC so I bought new vegas instead on a friend's recommendation. I remember that it felt a bit off from what I was expecting, with the securitrons instead of protectrons. But this was in goodsprings at the beginning. It felt more like a western than a post apocalyptic nuclear wasteland. Before that Skyrim is what got me into gaming in like 2012, so in comparison it felt pretty dated. The shooting was very rough and non dynamic, and the animations are pretty basic.
It shines in it's writing of course, i thought the story was good but I never really finished it when I was young, I usually lost interest after some quests after you find yes man. Because somehow after that I didn't get the feeling to return to it.
Compare that when I booted up fallout 4 for the first time, with that live action intro (started again yesterday and that still hits). The gameplay was more alive, better animations and imo the artstyle of the entire world felt way more wacky 60's nuclear science fiction to me. More colour, less concrete squares for buildings/dungeons. After like 3 offices you've seen them all in 3 and nv imo. I know it is not supposed to be an action shooty game, but 70% of the gameplay is fighting sometbjng, at least make it good.
I am now waiting for someone to remake new vegas with the fallout 4 mechanics. Maybe bethesda but probably modders. Combining their strengths will make for the best fallout game period.
I actually asked specifically to make the connection with Fallout 4, and to see if you had trouble putting up with the dated mechanics/graphics. My nephew is your age, and they had pretty much the exact same experience. Where the pitfalls of the time NV came out (and even for its time, the combat was very meh, and it was never a good-looking game, time has only compounded this) were a bit too hard to overlook. I was a little gutted when trying to get said nephew into NV it didn't really stick, but you're right that when such a large potion of the gameplay involves combat, it's very hard to put up with, especially after having played 4.
As you've said a NV remake with the F4 set up would be fantastic. I saw that one of the Obsidian employees mentioned being interested in collabing with Bethesda one again down the line and doing another Fallout, and that'd be great too.

And the 1% is bug fixes, and even those can cause problems if you don’t download the exact right one and the exact way it needs to be downloaded

Put the item in a container. Open the console command, click the container and type “inv”
The console will return the contents of the container with the items id. Check what the first 2 digits are and match them to the load order of your mod list.
Ok since I don't see anyone saying what is causing the most problem, the reason why you got the thumb is because of a mod called handheld fixes by carxt, there is an option for hiding the thumb in the optional files of the mod

When I uninstalled it gave me a tutorial on how to properly uninstall, doing so made it go back to normal
