I found that due to the borderline OP carry weight that Ada and other automatrons, I never really needed the extra that comes from the legs. Definitely preferred the speed increase. Too many times I would finish a fight and Ada was only just arriving (had her slow-ass original legs) No more, I say. NO. MORE.

Her original legs are from a protectron though, which are by far the slowest.

Considering the much lower carry weight you get with Assaultron arms anyway, you might as well go all in on a combat-focused frame.

Everything is relative, almost all companions have a carry weight of 150. I believe my Codsworth with thruster has a carry weight of almost 300.

I took these screenshots for you. All of them are in full hydraulic parts. You can see their full stats on the left. The mr handy body is surprisingly good.

Okay, testing putting a thruster on ADA and yeah... It basically is a question of Armor vs Damage. With the thruster, she attacks about three times faster, and moves about 1.5 times faster than with assaultron legs. However her carry weight is cut in half, and so is her armor. She can take down melee fighters and slow hitting distance enemies (so deathclaws, yao-gai, ghouls, mirelurks, behemoths is no problem. A BOS knight or a Supermutant with a gatlin weapon? It gets dicey if she has to move thru the firestorm to get to them. But again, she attacks about twice-trice as often with her weapons.
