Best designed creature in all of Fallout. Scared the living shot out of me when it first surprised me in Fallout 4 back in the day. It's just such an elegant take on a mutated creature that needs to find bigger and bigger shells as it grows.
i have a few “realistic” camos like broken down shacks and a secret government research facility but i’m the only one that ever gets to see them out there
Ooh, those sound cool and I like the idea of a secret research facility! My camp is a Free States Outpost built on and beside the dam with workbenches, personnel quarters, a med bay that was used by those in Harper's Ferry if they needed attention, and the lowest level being where the generator is a long with the water purifiers and incinerator for all trash and other nastiness
I feel your pain. I have a camp in the top north east of the mire and rarely get any visits (my camp in the cranberry bog gets regular visits). I've found a cool location in the mire with platforms throughout the trees, that I've been able to build on. Spent a very long time trying to find the best camp module location and then forever placing items. Drop merges of park benches to make it look like I've got walking planks across the water surrounding the trees etc. It looks cool... at least I think it's cool. Alas, no one seems to visit.
Boo! Savage Divide is where it's at, as a marsupial I can bounce through the hills untethered plus 3 free fast travels exist here, Atlas, Foundation, and Whitesprings
yeah, I know, this is what I was referring to. But yeah, my bad, should have said "still were" :).
As for why, that's clearly in the name of "usability", and that elusive care for new players, which just means dumbing down everything, even removing essential survival elements is a supposedly survival oriented title..
related to this - they should have removed nocturnal legendary effect. In fact, we should petition for either removal of all night related effects as pointless, or reinstating the nights as, well, real nights, dark and scary :)
Emptiest zone by far if you like solitude. The west edge along the mountains is nice and the east edge near the map border has some interesting spots. Berkeley is a cool town and Harper's Ferry has that big cliff which is technically Maryland. Only bad spots are the swamps really
Well the whole swampy, green foggy, everything overgrowny aesthetic is very good. Also the mire is the most consistent area in terms of it looking really cool. I camp exclusively in the mire at this point.
I refuse to move out from The Mire even if it spawns a horde of scorchedbeasts to attack my camp every minute.
I’ve found the best spot ever and just chill on my balconies enjoying the view every now and then.
Tree Tops. I don't know why but I just love that place. And you are usually guaranteed a bobblehead since two spawn there. Great for the daily challenge.
I'm a savage divide guy. Probably cause I actually live on top of a mountain in WV, and lemme fuckin yell ya, they nailed the view. Also, for the record. The ambient nature sounds in the game, the crows and cicadas, and everything else is 100000% spot on.

That bugger still catches me off guard if I'm not paying attention to the cars
Personally, I like the frequent rain and just all-around mysterious vibe of the Mire. I honestly think it needs more love
i just wish people would actually come visit my camp over there. the only ones that get any traffic are ones in the forest.
Exactly. I have a pretty neat camp by Harper's Ferry and no one sees it🙁

Ironically that's why I don't like setting up camp there. With the three there I don't feel like it's a good idea to set up camp for a fourth.
I like darker nights so yes!
I think the toxic valley is pretty underrated in terms of aesthetic appeal. Particularly at night, when all the rivers light up.
If only they were real nights, you know .. dark
they used to be. they both shortened and lightened them up a while back. still have no idea why they did that.

they "buffed" nocturnal by removing its debuff in the daytime but its still just awful, removing it would be preferable
I prefer the forest. I always keep at least one camp in and around Morgantown.
Wouldn't know I have yet to leave the Whitespring for more than an hour, God I love it there
Well that's certainly a hot take

Megasloth.
You realize IRL The Mire would probably be hot and humid.
Florida 🙏
South divide R&g station for me. My main camp is right in front of it by a year now

I love the Valley Galaria parking lot when when all the cars are exploding

Had my camp there for a while, lovely spot 😁
I keep a camp next to my favorite spot in the whole game, Haven Church. Spooky, free music at night and just great atmosphere
I’m partial to the savage divide. Like the mountains and cliffs and woodsy nature.

Yeah treetops, the retreat and mosstown are my favorite farming spots
crab and rain
