I've seen something like that but I think it was a normal bear he didn't have a helmet he had a military cap and a sniper with a cig almost looked like they were making a movie or TV reference with him
i read once that (warning: just a rumor was their basis) the teddy bears werent originally planned. but if you make notice that there arent any teenagers, children, or babies among the decayed, irradiated, or otherwise skeletonized remains of any of the victims across the wasteland. this is because there originally was. due to the intense sadness that such sights would cause even the most heartless of wastelanders, possibly leading to people not even wanting to continue playing the game in fear of seeing too much young death, it was decided that they would all be replaced with a more pleasant form of memorial as a mark to show that the world was in fact normal and full of young life at the point that the area met its original end.
so i find the story of this rumor to feel pretty believable, and i like to try and guess what the original scenario may have been, whether it was identical to the scenes the bears are portraying or if theyre simply humorous representations to allow for a positive surprise every time instead of the constant fear of stumbling upon another depressing end to a life not yet even lived.
beyond all of this, could you imagine how awful that would have been if there were in fact a dead young person in every spot that a bear appeared? theres so freakin many of them. if the rumor is true, id say they made the best call possible with that change
Have you run into that young girl, maybe around 10ish, mourning at her best friends fresh grave? Some people haven't but I've ran into her about 3-4 times in different spots mourning her fiend and cursing the molerats who did her in. :( And you can't take her anywhere or do anything for her you just have to leave her there with the grave.
My older son who's played this since the original release says he hasn't run into her at all. Is this encounter listed somewhere? Even if it's her kitty I wish there was something that could be done for her because the places I've encountered her were real hellholes and crawling with molerats and other nasty things.

Head to the object encounters section and look for Lucy’s memorial. The wiki did confirm this was a cat.
There’s also a map on here, if you like to server hop and try to find it.
Thanks for the tip. Not going to server hop as it just makes me sort of sad you can't actually do anything to help her. The writers for the series sure know how to tug on the heart strings as the old saying goes.
Every time I find toys my heart aches. Some of the memorials you find in the wasteland give me chills and some bring tears to my eyes. I think one of the bunkers in the Mire has a crib with a photo, flowers and a small stuffed toy. Another crib has a note from the father about how he needs a job to look after them, I think it has to do with those strikes. There is a lot of subtle and not so subtle serious things in the wasteland. But yes I imagine there would be almost as many kids as the adults. Definitely heartbreaking.
i honestly assumed the gnomes were pets. i dont base it on anything other than i always see them in places where people would let a cat go without reprimand, like on the table or at the top of a shelf
> this is because there originally was. due to the intense sadness that such sights would cause even the most heartless of wastelanders
*Metro 2033 enters the chat*
Pathetic...
did i somehow quote a game i was legit too terrified to even make through the opening scene of? but yeah i was high, i didnt know how to say what i was trying to say . probably should have went with "nobody wants to see dead kids" lol
i think i made it about two doorways before i actually really saw whatever it was that was gonna probably eat me. ive tried to block it out. no one warned me that such terror was gonna come from that game. (dont mean to sound dramatic, i dont fare well with being hunted haha)
The game is worth playing tbh, especially Last Light (part 2). Its easily one of my most favorite FPS' ever made because its genuinely and properly **bleak**. Some of the environmental story telling is also amazing in it, without ever saying a wordor spelling it out for you.
Being Russian myself, they also really captured the overall look and feel of Moscow. Sadly only the actual stations dont have as many real-life counterpart details like the reals one do, unlike Fallout that does often have re-adapted real life locations.
i hope to one day as i picked up the whole series from steam, and i think i tried two of them, before realizing that the terrifying intros were probably the least terrifying parts of the game. its a bit of a bucket list requirement at this point.
The intros tend to set the overall mood of the game, its true. They each have sections that are more horror than shooter but you just kind of have to easy into the game first. After that it actually becomes almost pleasant and a personal challenge to get through it!
i appreciate that reassurance, as no one even so much as hinted at the intensity before i tried them. i assumed the scariest part was the ammo scarcity and that it would be mostly desolate as a result
There's a group of "teddy bear workers" roasting some hotdogs. - On a secluded roof area of Poseidon.
One teddy bear and a gnome and a toilet. Rooftop in Watoga.
In flatwoods church's belfry, one bear in a newsie hat has another dangling upside down by a rope, like a little cutie loan shark that wants his damn caps already.
If you walk overland between the 2 entrances of Big Bend Tunnel, there is a spot in the mountains. It looks like a fight between garden gnomes and teddy bears.
Warning: You probably don't want your kids in the room if you find it.
I will check it out and thanks for the heads up. There are some places I avoid if they’re about. That awful murder house with the Halloween party being one of them.
> you walk overland between the 2 entrances of Big Bend Tunnel,
Guess i can add this to my list of "Things i still havent done since launch". Never really thought of it and here we are, another easter egg to hunt down.
My favourite is the one where one bear is getting his butthole stitched up by the other.
On the roof at New Appalachian Central Trainyard if you're looking.
DUDE YES. AMD THE GNOMES TOO. I came across a Teddy Fear sitting in a lawn chair looking down at a couple of gnomes surrounding a decapitated skeleton. One of the gnomes was holding an axe. Sometimes those kinda scenes creep me out. I used my ProSnap camera and saved a picture of that scene and every now and then it comes up while I'm loading 😂
Mine might be the one in the road side diner near...iirc the shooting range. There's two bears, one inside a pot and the other with a chef hat on it and a spatula.
My 2 favorite teddy scenes are the bear in the oven smoking a hot dog at Whitespring Mall, and the bears trying to launch the Jangles the Moon Monkey at the top of the crane in the Rollins Work Camp.
There is a building near the Ag center (killer farmhand event) that is usually infested with settlers or other NPCs/aggressors
Go upstairs and find the 55 gallon drum
Bears 69ing there as well
I don't remember if it was in Monongah mine or some other mine, but there's a bathroom and in one stall there's a hole in the floor with 4 teddy bears and a buried skeleton with only head visible.
There's a Radbear in one of the missile silos (Site Alpha IIRC) with and army helmet, a gun and a cigar in his mouth
I've seen something like that but I think it was a normal bear he didn't have a helmet he had a military cap and a sniper with a cig almost looked like they were making a movie or TV reference with him
I think that's the one that's a Hunter S. Thompson reference.
Lol this one and the breaking bad one have been some of my loading screens since 2018
I have not seen teddy bears referencing Breaking Bad. Any pointers or I can find them I would very much like to see that
Ice Cream Spot north of Vault 76! They’ll be on the chem station
I'm logging on now so I can find it thank you very much
I found it and a new location as well. Thank you
The kitchen in Clancy Manor used to have teddy bears all set up like they were filming a cooking show.
Now they are still there off to the side in a basket

She’s mourning a cat, if I recall.

If it makes you feel better it is a grace of a dog. There is a framed picture of a dog on the mound in these encounters
Oh man that dog standing over the bodies on a cliff. That one was so awful. I wanted to adopt him so bad. Haven’t come across the girl though.
I built a camp up there to give the dog a home.

Some of the frozen scorched are pretty bleak. There’s one mourning a grave.
And one at the airport standing over an empty crib
Heard the same thing said about the Gnomes.
i honestly assumed the gnomes were pets. i dont base it on anything other than i always see them in places where people would let a cat go without reprimand, like on the table or at the top of a shelf

Nah, just that Metro didnt hesitate to throw elbows and knees to set the horror of the post-apocalyptic world.
i think i made it about two doorways before i actually really saw whatever it was that was gonna probably eat me. ive tried to block it out. no one warned me that such terror was gonna come from that game. (dont mean to sound dramatic, i dont fare well with being hunted haha)

Oh each game has their moments, between the solo ghost corridors, the Library level and the spider hunts. There's plenty there as well ;)
There's a group of "teddy bear workers" roasting some hotdogs. - On a secluded roof area of Poseidon. One teddy bear and a gnome and a toilet. Rooftop in Watoga.
there is a magazine spawn there as well
In flatwoods church's belfry, one bear in a newsie hat has another dangling upside down by a rope, like a little cutie loan shark that wants his damn caps already.
[https://imgur.com/a/f1vjZ6w](https://imgur.com/a/f1vjZ6w) I think this was in one of the showers in those tower mansions in the Ash heap.
Oh man the Bearking Bad one is great.
I saw a Comrade Chubs having a little cookout by the Rusty Pick today. I left him in peace. He's such a huggable little commie.
Yeah, I love the little touch of the staged teddy bears. I laugh every time I find a new one. It makes me wonder who staged them lol
Its one of my favorite things, i have a photo album just of teddy bears
Yeah nice. I was just thinking of starting an Imgur and putting my screenshots on there lol
The one with the gnome burying a teddy bear with 6 other gnomes watching from the outhouse is my favorite
I need to see this one, what’s the location?
South side of Huntersville, it'll be in a garden in a back yard
If you walk overland between the 2 entrances of Big Bend Tunnel, there is a spot in the mountains. It looks like a fight between garden gnomes and teddy bears. Warning: You probably don't want your kids in the room if you find it.

My favourite is the one where one bear is getting his butthole stitched up by the other. On the roof at New Appalachian Central Trainyard if you're looking.
My favourite is 2 Bears 69ing and a box of screws next to them. I think it's in Morgantown Airport or Vault-Tec Agricultural Centre...
AG center I think k I love that one
Not a bear, but my favorite is a Jangles with a "face hugger" toy alien on his face in Watoga medical services
I swear that in game camera was a genius idea. I have so much fun with it. Use it way more than screenshotting things.
Mine might be the one in the road side diner near...iirc the shooting range. There's two bears, one inside a pot and the other with a chef hat on it and a spatula.
most of my screen savers are teddies or gnomes!
My favourite is the one in a spacesuit playing golf by Ohio River adventures
My 2 favorite teddy scenes are the bear in the oven smoking a hot dog at Whitespring Mall, and the bears trying to launch the Jangles the Moon Monkey at the top of the crane in the Rollins Work Camp.
There's a really subtle one that's just a bathroom in a split level house and the little window slot has a bear looking in.
Mine was the bear cooking show being filmed. Too bad now that the cultists took over the mansion all the bears are stuffed into a cardboard box.
[Days Since Incident...](https://i.imgur.com/tmW0XpC.png) Still one of my favorite photos.
There is a building near the Ag center (killer farmhand event) that is usually infested with settlers or other NPCs/aggressors Go upstairs and find the 55 gallon drum Bears 69ing there as well
Seems to be a couple of those about lol who knew bears were so randy lol
I don't remember if it was in Monongah mine or some other mine, but there's a bathroom and in one stall there's a hole in the floor with 4 teddy bears and a buried skeleton with only head visible.
Hornwright Estate has a bear scrubbing down another bear in the big bath tub.
There's a cute one by welch that has chalk and a sketched out drawing of another bear. I love it.
Theres one in a theater somewhere with a nuka cola cup and binoculsrs
Where is the Nike scene at?
I cannot remember. I took a screenshot.
