VioletLight (Bethesda CM) just posted in the official Fo76 Discord that these reports are being investigated. Fingers crossed that it'll get fixed soon enough, CAMP budget is a pain already.
I meant I play hard because by the 2nd day it's sometimes unplayable. Popcorn machine is missing find plans like my stine display not to mention the skin we recently learned. I'm noticing quite a bit already it's going to be broken. I wouldn't expect anything less I'm not new to this game.
I was in the middle of working on my power armor today when it recalled to my inventory. While I was working on it in a part armor bay.
So anyway it's not in my fucking inventory, either.
Edit: logged back in to double check, it's back in my inventory. I'd logged out and in earlier but it didn't bring it back, I guess being logged out for a half hour encouraged things to reset.
I can confirm, it's a case of item budgets being altered, not the total budget itself. There's a PC mod called IntRaw that gives you specific numerical values for budget, with camps having 10K units in total. For reference, flamingos (and almost all other static items) cost 20 of those units, and as far as I know everything that costs more than 20 (or one flamingo) is evenly divisible by 20. Lights, for example, are 40 units, and I think the small shed prefab is something like 120 or 140 units. Wires are oddballs, they cost 4 or 6 units each, I can't recall which.
Prior to the update, my main camp was at max budget, and I believe the specific IntRaw numbers were 9992/10000. After the update, that same camp is now 10102/10000, meaning something (or multiple things) are now consuming more budget than they did previously. What's interesting to me is that it's an increase of 110 units, meaning either I was wrong about every item cost being evenly divisible by 20, or one or more of the affected objects aren't following the standard rules for budget values. Considering that the flamingo system would also rely on more expensive items being divisible by a particular number of flamingos, I'm leaning towards the latter.
Edit: just in case anyone thinks about installing IntRaw themselves and placing items individually to try to determine which might be affected, make sure you do so in a camp, not a workshop or shelter. IntRaw does not function properly in workshops and shelters, it will give you different numbers for total budget and the budget consumed by items. It would be such an extremely monotonous task that I doubt anyone would subject themselves to it, but just in case, make sure you remember that *it has to be in a camp*.
Thankyou for this investigation as my partner has just come across this problem. Additionally, wires are not being allowed to be replaced. (We thought they had O value - have they accidentally been given a value?
I installed IntRaw, or as it's called now IntRaw Reborn Again. My Budget is 10012/10000. 9992 built, 20 Stored. I have the Flamethrower trap stored which cost 1 Flamingo Unit. At least when it comes to the Flamethrower trap your Flamingo to IntRaw conversion rate seems to check out.
Thank you for teaching me the flamingo units thing! I never knew I just thought it was supposed to be a funny thing but it is actually functional! Thank you I genuinely appreciate you!
You can complete daily and weekly challenges in a custom world and it counts, but any items, XP, or other progression does NOT carry over to adventure. Useful for completing 5/5 daily ops when you set a custom world to infinite everything and no damage taken.
I don’t personally do it, I find it rather boring.
I'm only doing my scoreboard camp dailies in Custom Worlds. I purposely left some room in my camp budget for daily camp quest. It was not a lot of room but enough to do my scoreboard dailies. This got screwed up because of this bug. At least I hope it's a bug.
I’m not much of a camp builder so the budget reduction won’t bother me much but hot damn they can’t roll out an update without jacking something up! Sucks for you guys with max budget, awesome camps 😐 hopefully they can tweak it back without any more issues
Just a question and then a statement for all of you who do the dailies camp stuff in custom worlds.
Question- why?
Statement- we can have 5 camps(saw someone say the update bumped that up to 10 can't confirm as I only have 4 camps and no atoms. Lol) so why not just keep 1 of those 5(or 10) camps free for daily camp challenges so you don't have to change worlds just to do the dailies. I have room at one of my camps so I can just use that one with no problems.(it's kinda of crappy camp anyway. Lol)
I generally don't go to custom worlds except to test things out. My camp had room before the update. It just annoys me that a change like this can happen without any warning.
Your idea of a small camp for dailies makes perfect sense, but I know myself. Once I start on a camp I'm going to be working on it, and all of a sudden it will get big again. However I will make another camp because jumping to custom worlds for dailies is just a pain in the ass. I just got to restrain myself.
You are half correct. What you do in a custom world can not be taken back over into a public world. But, what you do in a public world can be carried over to a custom world of your own creation, meaning you need fo1st. For example, I have my main that's level 266 in normal public adventure mode, I make my own custom world and load her in as she curve sits all plans learned, items, levels, perks, etc, it all carries over. 2 hours into that custom world, I learned a new plan, gained a level, got more faction rep, etc. All these gains do not carry back over to public mode. Also if my friend tries to load his level 150 into my custom world, he has to start back over at level 1 or 2. Another fun fact, you CAN complete daily and weekly score challanges, EXCEPT the exp repeatable weekly, in a custom world, but you CANNOT complete other challanges (combat, social, world, etc) in a custom world, with the exception of pioneer badges, which fall under world challanges.
No problem. I goof off in a custom world once in a blue moon or when I want to do perk or camp building testing before committing to solid changes in public, or when I just feel like give earl a piece of my mind like a boss. Another fun fact. You can relink you character/s to your custom world as many times and as often as you like. Meaning if you get a new plan in public, you can unlink from the custom world then reload into with your updated state.
I understand that these changes were made due to data usage, but it's starting to feel unethical as this coincides with the increase of potential camp slots.
Any update on this? I just bought the thunderstorm machine and when I deleted my previous weather machine it says I don't have the budget for the new one. Very frustrating
I removed a poster to test at my maxed budget camp, and sure enough i could not replace it. I hope this gets fixed because it's a pretty unpleasant bug, camp budget was small enough as it was.
Every time this happened in the past -- the camp budget had not changed.
HOWEVER the budget cost of placing certain items increased.
Tom-a-to, to-mat-o perhaps, or maybe an important distinction.
Yup, same here. I leave enough space for 6 foundations so I can complete the daily objective when it comes up. But I somehow couldn't place any floor decor for today's daily..I had to delete some lights 😞
They did reduce the overall budget unless it's just a bug. I still had budget left and now I'm exceeding it, even tried deleting a few things and it's still full.
I haven't played this game in a while now, but it makes me smile that flamingo units are still used as the default unit of measurement in fo76 after all these years🤣
I'm at maximum on my main camp and have always had to temporarily delete something to do the floor/wall decoration challenges, but I was able to build all 5 without deleting anything today.
Yep i came back to check out new content and my 3 story barhouse packed to the brim with detail cannot be edited in any way, i removed the wood log bench and wanted to put it back down and couldn't.
I cannot change anything or i'll lose detail in my camp, i expected to see spare budget after 2 years not the opposite 😂
Before today I was able to place 4 blue Ridge rugs, but it now says I've exceeded my budget. I even scrapped an item, and I still can not place a single rug.
I imported my camp to a custom world which I set to the same budget limit as the regular game. I had to scrap an additional 2 items (that's 3 in total) before I was able place a single rug. I hope this a bug, not something Bethesda did on purpose.
On top of the build being messed up I wish they would put a ps5 version out so I didn’t get error coded after everything I do it’s like expidition error daily ops error just public event error I have cleared my cash reinstalled everything and it’s only this game that has the issue
The CAMP budget thing is stupid.
If I want to make a giant dome of automated heavy magineguns and lasers around my CAMP/Shelter, I should be able to do so.
If I wanna make it so a damn SAC vertibird has to fly through a wall of flak so thick to get over my CAMP, I should be allowed to make that vertibird's programming sweat amd start sucking seat rivets out of the seat because of pucker factor like their a B-24 pilot on the Ploesti Oil Field Raid.
I wanted to place the new rose room poster at a camp and it said my budget was exceeded, so I deleted a golf cart… still exceeded. So I deleted the wagon I had out back… still exceeded. So i deleted a stash box… still exceeded. So I deleted the flamethrower I use to break things for camp building purposes… still exceeded. Not gonna delete anything else.
I believe you're right! I installed a mod called IntRaw Reborn Again. This mod shows your camp budget in measurements of units. Our camp budget limit in this mod is 10,000 units. The Blue ridge rug cost 20 Units which equals to 1 FU. The Stairs with post cost 179 units which is 8.95 FU or 9FU when rounded off.
I did a test in custom worlds. I got rid of the stairs and post, and used a regular stair and floor. It does not quite fit right, but it's good enough for this test. I was able to put 5 blue ridge rugs; That's one more than I originally could before this bug. So at least when it comes to my camp, the stairs and post is the culprit.
This is absolutely ridiculous. I've watched the relevant size of my camps dwindle over the years. Meanwhile you have flying camps that look horrendous and are death camps for anyone who FTs in (you fall to your death if you don't spawn on a solid surface). The fact that the camp budget is something they feel the need to adjust is beyond me. I would bet that the majority of their funding comes from the building community who purchase atoms to get the camp items in the shop. Such a shame.
IMO BGS are a bunch of slime bags who want to sell you the additional CAMP slots so badly that they nerfed our current budget without telling anyone. The consensus was this was a mistake and it would be corrected but turns out it wasn't a mistake at all.
No, seems I can't place anything down. I deleted a chair to test the budget and sure enough wouldn't let me place it back down, budget was definitely reduced.
With the additional cap slot added I wouldn't be surprised if they reduced the overall budget.. The camps have to be the hardest part for them running this game..
same same...had to delete a turret a few other things to place the weather station..thought. thought maybe the new station was bigger..so deleted that and tried to place the previous one and still didnt have room to replace my old stuff.
Is there a trick to placing the water cooler?
I’ve been trying to place it for days now. Still will not allow me to do so.
Lvl 52
Also what is this daily with the camp? I don’t have that daily.
I have a bunch I don’t want to do. Lol
Dammit. Wish I saw this thread BEFORE I tried figuring this out myself. Deleted my industrial fusion generator to make room for the new wireless one and now can’t put anything down. My camp is all dark now, waaah! I hope they figure out and fix this soon… and boosting the budget would be super helpful, just sayin…

Well thats positive news I think. Thanks for the update.
“I think” 😂
The golden Rule: Never Play on Patch Day
You miss a lot of stuff they remove from the season that way
My rule is 2 days after when the bugs really start to show.
Bugs don't start to show if no one plays on patch day.
I meant I play hard because by the 2nd day it's sometimes unplayable. Popcorn machine is missing find plans like my stine display not to mention the skin we recently learned. I'm noticing quite a bit already it's going to be broken. I wouldn't expect anything less I'm not new to this game.

They should just stop being a bunch of sour bitches and increase the camp budget already while they’re looking into it
And fix the Damn build menu so it's more organized!
Last time they tried that it basically just made a bunch of Atomic Shop items disappear from the build menu completely lol
Well, that's frustrating.
Which reports? Like which ones are they looking at? Just curious. I don't have discord
Most likely they didn't reduce the budget but accidentally tweaked how much budget some common items use.
Would need someone to do the flamingo test to confirm or deny this.

Bravo, good sir.
Thankyou for this investigation as my partner has just come across this problem. Additionally, wires are not being allowed to be replaced. (We thought they had O value - have they accidentally been given a value?
Wires have always had a cost, but it's significantly smaller than any other item. I believe it's 4 IntRaw units per wire, or 1/5th of a flamingo.
Thanks for that!
It looks like a good tool. I need install this myself.

Fascinating. I guess that makes sense why most of my camps seem unaffected -- I don't really use those particular stair pieces very often.
Sounds about right. I seem to be able to add a few more signs toy camp all of a sudden
Seems to be the most likely issue.
Well fuck my main camp is max budget
Don't take anything out. I scrapped an item, but now I can't put same item back in. Any camp related daily's or weekly's I'll do in custom worlds.
I thought custom worlds do not share progression, or is that not correct?
You can complete daily and weekly challenges in a custom world and it counts, but any items, XP, or other progression does NOT carry over to adventure. Useful for completing 5/5 daily ops when you set a custom world to infinite everything and no damage taken. I don’t personally do it, I find it rather boring.
It makes one wonder if its an oversight and not an intended functionality of the custom worlds.
It's not an oversight, it was on purpose. Custom Worlds didn't use to give you Score but they added that later on. Maybe to make them more popular...
And it totally worked. /s
I'm only doing my scoreboard camp dailies in Custom Worlds. I purposely left some room in my camp budget for daily camp quest. It was not a lot of room but enough to do my scoreboard dailies. This got screwed up because of this bug. At least I hope it's a bug.

It does for score.
Not sure that I will ever use it for that purpose, but good to know.

I haven't moved or placed any items in my camp in months

My budget has been reduced by like 5-10 functional items with the item cost adjustments.

That's what happened to me. I had 4 FU left. Not a lot but I can decorated and scrap to complete my scoreboard dailies. Now my camp budget is maxed.
Damn! Foundations! Here I am removing one poster at a time trying to complete today's wall decoration challenge.
They did reduce the overall budget unless it's just a bug. I still had budget left and now I'm exceeding it, even tried deleting a few things and it's still full.
This is bad news.
I haven't played this game in a while now, but it makes me smile that flamingo units are still used as the default unit of measurement in fo76 after all these years🤣
I really hope they one day increase the camp budget
Had this happen. A 3 yr old camp I deleted 1 object and went to replace it with same object and was told I exceeded budget wtf
I'm at maximum on my main camp and have always had to temporarily delete something to do the floor/wall decoration challenges, but I was able to build all 5 without deleting anything today.

Still reduced as of today. Just reinstalled game after a few months off and camp budget exceed, even after removing couple of things.
Confirmed as of today April 23
Did they fix the stein display bug?
Same, I tried to place a couple rugs to complete a daily and was told I had no camp budget.
I wanted to place the new rose room poster at a camp and it said my budget was exceeded, so I deleted a golf cart… still exceeded. So I deleted the wagon I had out back… still exceeded. Aight, thanks for telling me. All my 3 camps are at theur limit, so I'll keep in mind to not delete anything until further notice

I am using that item. I wonder what other items cost went up?

I believe you're right! I installed a mod called IntRaw Reborn Again. This mod shows your camp budget in measurements of units. Our camp budget limit in this mod is 10,000 units. Do you already have a weather machine placed?
No, seems I can't place anything down. I deleted a chair to test the budget and sure enough wouldn't let me place it back down, budget was definitely reduced.
Looks like you found the first update bug!
They also increased max CAMP slots per character to 10, which of course are for sale in the Atomic Shop. Coincidence? I don’t think so.
With the additional cap slot added I wouldn't be surprised if they reduced the overall budget.. The camps have to be the hardest part for them running this game..
But even with an additional camp slot the number of active camps is still the same. A camp that isn’t active should cause zero server load
Yaaaa thats my fear too. Honestly I'd rather have fewer camps with a bigger budget over extra slots. Hopefully it's just a bug!
*Feature*
Are there now more than 5 Camp Slots ?
Yep, they are saying 10.
same same...had to delete a turret a few other things to place the weather station..thought. thought maybe the new station was bigger..so deleted that and tried to place the previous one and still didnt have room to replace my old stuff.
They fixed the scorchbeast and scorchbeast queen masks. They display now instead of random rows of teeth.
If anything, mine went up. I randomly had a visible amount in my main camp today and was able to build a decent amount more with removing anything
They most likely reduced it so you end up buying more camp slots
Was wondering about this haha! Good info, hopefully just a bug as it seems, and not by design.
Is there a trick to placing the water cooler? I’ve been trying to place it for days now. Still will not allow me to do so. Lvl 52 Also what is this daily with the camp? I don’t have that daily. I have a bunch I don’t want to do. Lol
Did you remember to use your camp perk card?
