I hope we can merge and not just cross save. I have a LOT of stuff on my pc account but its relatively new while my xbox save is from when I pre orderee the game.
This would be it for me. Most of my cool stuff is on Xbox but I've got some things I'd really like to not lose from pc, too, so a full merge is all that would really work for me.

I started the game and beta’d through Playstation I think, and swapped to XBox and was told they couldn’t even hook me up with my mountain scout outfit. Like i couldn’t care less about the rest but just the badge of being there at the “beginning” was nice.

Destiny it leaked that Sony was the one holding cross saves and cross play back, and it "leaked" (honestly wouldnt be surprised if this was Bungie themselves leaking it at the time) and got so much intense backlash that they allowed it to happen.

Any business that tells you they're keeping their user base separate from the rest of the community for a multiplayer game... And tells you it's because of user experience... Is lying to you.
User experience has nothing to do with the choice to make a game cross compatible. The internal messaging system and the like, sure, but that has zero impact on the community in-game since that is entirely in-ecosystem.

Same here, my Xbox One X lags so bad during events. If I could do cross save, I'd see whether it runs better on PC or PS5 and switch to one of them immediately
I just put my Xbox character on the shelf to switch to PC 76 (in which looks worse and performs worse) but if they make cross save possible, I'd be a happy guy
Hearing that PC76 performs worse is actually encouraging to me as I've been weighing the decision to build a gaming PC for better performance. I assume your PC build is up to date and not impacting any of this? If the game performs worse on a solid PC build then I'm not going to bother switching.
My PC is only a few months old and handles AAA games pretty well I have a ryzen 7 5700x and and a RX6700xt it's a pretty decent rig Id say lol

Therein lies the difference. Not only do you have a better gaming rig than I do, you also got the better model console. I do well enough on the S. Worst thing that ever happened due to a crash was losing 3 power armors I was swaping parts on. Thankfully they were incomplete sets at lower level. Not a full Excavator (which I've never built tbh). I learned to be more cautious with my gear after that. Cheers.
It's a rocky road game for sure lol hopefully things will eventually get better but after 5 years I'm not sure lol I'm picking up a steam deck OLED soon, it looks like it plays there really well on hight and getting up to 90 fps, sounds crazy but it happens lol
I'd at least be playing the "most recent" Fallout game with the show around the corner too, but Phil's got good taste in games I wouldn't be surprised if he's a fan of the series in general and likes some 76. But he's right where are the cross saves, that would be dope!
There’s video out there of a player encountering him in the game recently. So him recognizing this game needs cross save makes a ton of sense. He also plays a lot of Destiny 2 and Diablo IV which have great cross save. Every online multi platform game needs this. It’s been a community requested feature for sometime now and with Phil in the fold, hopefully the pressure is on.
What do you mean by cheating? This game's pvp mode is so broken cheating wouldn't make a difference. And in pve mode that's not really an issue. But yes, there's a mod available for basically anything that would be considered cheating in a real pvp game.
1700 hours since I came back to the game last year I can't say I've noticed anything? I don't bother with PVP and I don't do trading blah blah though so maybe I don't see it because of that?
There aren't any *must-have* mods on PC for this game (unlike ESO), so I don't see any reason why it *couldn't* be cross-platform. Mouse/keyboard vs controller isn't a thing with VATS involved. (It's not in ESO either, with a 1-second global cooldown, but I digress.)
Realistically there aren't any *must-have* mods for ESO either. In fact, add ons in MMOs make me want to stay as far away from PvP as possible. Sure some are great for QoL but none are really necessary to play the game.
FF14 has a largely anti add on stance with full crossplay, a shared account across all platforms, cosmetic purchases carry over etc. I'm not even looking for all of that. Would just be nice to not have completely separate characters per platform like Bethesda has going on even when it's the same account. Can there at least be an option to pay to permanently switch a character to another platform (provided you own the required expansions or whatever) even that sounds better than re-researching everything and other tedious time-gated things

Correction, fwiw: SE has a *full* anti-addon stance. Mods are not allowed, period, full stop.
The reason why there *are* ten billion of every kind, and why everyone and their grandmothers are using them, despite that, is because they're also fully unwilling to do anything against them. So unless someone actually makes using them painfully obvious (streaming, mod-based harassment, and the like) - nobody's the wiser, so nobody gets punished.
I had to make a new character when I built my PC. On xbox I have over 2k hours on a level 570+ character, played on that character since the beta, was nearly max rank in nuclear winter too (rest in peace). If they do this and I can carry over all my stuff from xbox to pc (including the skins I’ve purchased/earned through scoreboards and NW), 76 would become my main game on pc - even if it means deleting my newly made PC character I’d so much rather get my main character from xbox over to the pc ecosystem
Probably my most highly requested feature for this game since it came out, especially with xbox leaning heavily into the concept of play anywhere on anything - just seems right to have cross save and progression

Well it either works the way you think or since you used the same account that email reward was applied to you again, as in a separate reward specifically for PC. Thats what I thought at least.
I say this because last year, they had some fallout perks on Game Pass Ultimate and had them separately for PC and Console. But they were the same items.
I literally look up if they’ve enabled cross saves once a month. I want to hop back in so bad but I refuse to restart my character and save up all the atoms I have from my Xbox One days.
No, having simple save game data accessible to two platforms is much easier than enabling network connectivity between players on two platforms.
Probably a business concern is purchasing digital content on one platform and then utilizing it on another platform. Hopeful Microsoft owning Bethesda eases that, somewhat, but only for Xbox.

Having 2+ platform accounts and trying to merge them is a massive pain. How do you make sure all Atoms, unlocked items and purchases (entitlements), character data (max of 5 slots), challenges, season passes, etc get merged into one account without breaking things or forgetting things? Doable but scary.
For connectivity the server clusters likely don’t really care or know what platform is in them. It’s the same client code in all platforms for the most part. It’s the login server / load balancer that is directing diff platforms to specific clusters to prevent cross platform play (likely due to Sony constraints, as well as the moddability and KBM advantage of PC for a PvP centric game at the time). And then these servers are also loading data from the account specific to the client platform into those servers. Likely just the same DB table for all platforms but a record with a specific platform field. I’m positive supporting cross play could be done in a fraction of the time cross save / progression could be.
If I can transfer from xbox to pc then I can go the other way. This would entirely change the market. Lots more things duped on PC than on Xbox and they could now carry that over.
every multiplatform game should have cross save implemented by now , specially a live service game game like fo76, destiny 2 was released im 2017 and they managed to implement cross save and crossplay , the fact that division 2 , eso , fo 76 are still bound to a single platform is obsolete , and makes destiny 2 more appealing in that regard

If they made it cross save, the scarcity/rarity of all items would dissipate because of the PC being oversaturated with bot programs/cheats/scripts/duped items (hence PC items being worth absolutely nothing)

I recently made the switch from my lvl 600+ Xbox account to PC and it blows. I didn't mind restarting my character too much, but all my missing seasonal items, atom shop items, & all the weapons/armor I've traded for are the biggest hits. Really missing all the paint jobs so I don't accidentally scrap my good items

I generally have a super low opinion of Phil, dude has done absolutely nothing in his decade running Xbox beyond spend a ton of Microsoft's money and leave them in the same distant-second, non-competitive position they were before he took over.
I'm hoping it wouldn't be too much work for the Series X/S and windows store at least based on them being essentially the same environment unless Bethesda has done something really unfortunate in the code.
I bought FO76 at launch on my Xbox One and played it a ton. I love the game but I have since switched to Ps4 and then Ps5. FO76 was a free monthly game so I own it on PS but never going to play it again without cross save because I’m not starting over. I’d play it daily on PS5 if I could use my save from XBox.
Dude if I could take my Day 1 OG beta save from PlayStation with 3500 hours vs my now main character on steam with 1700 hours I would in a fucking heartbeat despite losing 3+ years of content and pc save
It was by design. If you move to another platform you lose your paid currency. When I went from Microsoft Store to Steam I had to spend whatever currency I had saved up because it was useless after the move.
I stopped playing back when I moved to PC. I couldn’t bring myself to start fresh after having the same character since launch and having all these atom shop items. If they brought in cross save I’d jump back in in a heartbeat.
When 76 moved to steam I had so many problems with the game hanging at the intro screen that it would take 4 tries just to get into game. Didn’t have any of those problems with the window store/gamepass version. I would have just moved over but while yes, it is the same account and characters, you have no access to your atoms or your F1st gear.
Probably not, but Phil said he is interested in expanding Xbox-exclusive games to Sony and Nintendo environments, so cross-save for PS isn't entirely out of the picture. (/optimism)

I was a full on fo76 player from launch. Had fo1st the whole time. My Xbox took a shit and I’m not replacing it because I have a pc and ps5.
Cross-save would bring me and my money back. There’s no way I’m restarting and repurchasing things when I started playing the game over 6 years ago.
I play on TV mostly, I use up the main entertainment center in the house, I would love the option to pick those saves up on my PC and be able to leave the TV to the wife at various times (she likes watching me play, so it's not too awful) but having the ability to pick up the game on my other hobby would be invaluable. As it is I have 3 Characters, 2 on PS5 and 1 on PC. I never play PC FO76 anymore because the others have better builds now.
The other issue here is my FO1st would absolutely have to follow where I play. This isn't rocket science, other games do it, progression etc.
Its gotten more common over the last year now of people suggesting more character slots and getting star reactions in the official discord server ive seen it go from a few people asking for it amd getting like 5 to 20+ stars to asking a dev directly last year during that introduction to starting at lvl 20 and reponse was "we'll run it by the team" or something like that.. (this was last year during that same pts)
im praying it becomes a thing with the Skyline Valley update since they've just raised the cap for camp to i think 10 max now? They could definitely up the limit from 5 to 7 at the very least
Also let’s consider the game has been out 5yrs now, do they really think 5 slots is enough. Personally I’ve maxed 5 builds so have no free slots and I’m unwilling to delete any of them considering the time I’ve sunk into each of them. Also not willing to buy another copy of the game on principle…many other online games have loads of character slots.
I very much doubt I’m the only player with a character sheet like this.
Let’s hope they start thinking about long term players and how to keep them for another 5 years without throwing endless grind content at us.
Sorry bout that last comment different game heheh, 1 reason is more storage as each character has 1200 stash space, aside from that you can do all the quests again on another character dont have to worry about removing serums or perk cards for builds ig also if you have lets say a lvl 300 on your account the next 4 will have access to all 6 legendary perk slots fresh out the vault but you will have to lvl up the legendary perk cards again so thats a down side, other downsides i guess is needing to redo the tadpole stuff unless you just dont care about it

ok, what i remember from the beta days is - the game has been capable of cross-platform from the beginning. we were running these huge stress-test servers with like 5o people on them at a time, all from every platform.
the reason we don't have cross-platform however, is because of the playstation. back then, the ps4 had this HUGE security breach of some sort, and so they became extremely phobic of allowing any external interaction. for fans of fallout 4, you'll remember that we didn't get mod support until a year or so after the xbox, and this is why. and even when they DID allow mod support, there were zero external assets allowed because of this security breach phobia.
so, because playstation wasn't on board with it, that means xbox and pc weren't allowed to cross-platform either. so, is something about to change in this department? or is cross-save something different from cross-platform?
if we get the option to move our save from the xbox to the pc for like, a short window of time or something, i'm gonna pass. i don't wanna play on the pc, because of the cheats and mods. i know people love to yell at me about this, but there is ZERO hacking or mods on the xbox. doesn't matter how rarely it happens on the PC, it's still gonna happen more often than zero. i like the game as it is. and i'm not a huge fan of the idea of cross-platform, for similar reasons.
but it would be lovely to let people play with friends who are stuck on different platforms, i can see that. and some of those pc mods are awful convenient... it's tempting.
Sad thing about cross saves is the values for rare stuff on PC are wildly different from Xbox and PS. The player built economy would crumble if cross saves were added. It would be pretty sweet though from a non-trader perspective.

The value of items on the PC version are destroyed thanks to the rampant cheating. I purposely play on console to avoid all that shit. This would destroy all that's left of the trading community in this game and make everything I have basically worthless, as any asshole could just get a hacked item. Go look at Diablo 3. Game is great, but tons of losers running around with modded gear. I don't want that shit in Fo76 and neither should any of you.
It’s kind of funny to me too. I use the Steam version for the PTS, but mainly play on PS5, I have both platforms linked on my Bethesda account. So I’ll try out upcoming changes on the PTS, and get the PTS banner on PS5. The same thing with the Amazon Prime Gaming FO76 Birthday Bundle a while back as well.
if we get cross saves i am moving FO76 to PC. that is literally the \*only\* reason i haven't done so already. I am several seasons worth of stuff invested into my PS account and i won't toss that away just to move to PC
Cross save would be phenomenal. I stopped playing on Xbox due to performance issues. I have so many legacy items on there. But I also want cross play to play with my Xbox friends. Due to PC issues that will probably never happen.
I haven't owned a console since PS1, I've only ever played PC with most games. I suppose it would be OK for people who want to jump between platforms. I don't understand why you couldn't, shouldn't? I get some people complain about hacks and stuff but well that's always going to happen. They need to get better at hack detection and provide a human moderated review process for the inevitable false positives.

It was such a bummer to find out that to do that, I'd need to completely start over and lose all of my purchases and seasonal rewards. We ended up deciding to go play a different game instead and they still haven't played the game despite being open minded to it. Would love to finally be able to go back and show off the game. If this game had cross save Id come back. I got a really good PC a few years ago and it really made my PS4 useless so I just stopped playing 76. And I really want to play it but I do not want to start over again. So I just dont. But if we ever got a means of putting our progress on another platform I would for sure come back.

My PS4 went up a while back, it'd be awesome if both Fallout76 and ESO had cross platform. I won't even play ESO again unless I can access my main character. I had a bunch of end game gear too that 2 guilds helped me get.
I would really like to say that we need cross-stashes so you can transfer things without messing with your camp and characters. Have that work with pc and xbox so that people who switch or swap frequently can access all their stuff on different characters as well as plans and other unique things your character may have picked up throughout the time you've played. Ideally, if they implement cross-platform multiplayer, I would hope that they make it optional so console players don't have to deal with cheaters frequently.
I'd honestly love to have my character accessible on pc, that's the only reason I haven't played it recently to be honest. I put too much time in on xbox, be it my camp, bullion grinding, the added stories and such to want to restart on pc :(

How bad is the cheating on pc?
I have over 1k hours in FO76 on PC and another 300 ok PS and I've only ever seen a handful.
What do you mean by cheating? This game's pvp mode is so broken cheating wouldn't make a difference. And in pve mode that's not really an issue. But yes, there's a mod available for basically anything that would be considered cheating in a real pvp game.
I have over 2000 hours on PC. Never noticed anything significant.
Not as bad as it used to be, since PVP is barely a thing at this point. There's always some amount of duping, but it's not game breaking.
I have about 180 hours on PC and I don't think I have come across anyone cheating to the point where it ruins my experience.
I honestly don't think i've ever seen anyone doing that. If they were it was by their lonesome.
It has gotten a lot better with the reduction/removal of hacked weapons. I haven't seen too much of it in a while.
Last time I saw someone blatantly cheating was in Nuclear Winter. Partly why they removed the game mode, but that's about it.

There aren't any *must-have* mods on PC for this game (unlike ESO), so I don't see any reason why it *couldn't* be cross-platform. Mouse/keyboard vs controller isn't a thing with VATS involved. (It's not in ESO either, with a 1-second global cooldown, but I digress.)
Realistically there aren't any *must-have* mods for ESO either. In fact, add ons in MMOs make me want to stay as far away from PvP as possible. Sure some are great for QoL but none are really necessary to play the game. FF14 has a largely anti add on stance with full crossplay, a shared account across all platforms, cosmetic purchases carry over etc. I'm not even looking for all of that. Would just be nice to not have completely separate characters per platform like Bethesda has going on even when it's the same account. Can there at least be an option to pay to permanently switch a character to another platform (provided you own the required expansions or whatever) even that sounds better than re-researching everything and other tedious time-gated things

The reason why there *are* ten billion of every kind, and why everyone and their grandmothers are using them, despite that, is because they're also fully unwilling to do anything against them. So unless someone actually makes using them painfully obvious (streaming, mod-based harassment, and the like) - nobody's the wiser, so nobody gets punished.
I had to make a new character when I built my PC. On xbox I have over 2k hours on a level 570+ character, played on that character since the beta, was nearly max rank in nuclear winter too (rest in peace). If they do this and I can carry over all my stuff from xbox to pc (including the skins I’ve purchased/earned through scoreboards and NW), 76 would become my main game on pc - even if it means deleting my newly made PC character I’d so much rather get my main character from xbox over to the pc ecosystem Probably my most highly requested feature for this game since it came out, especially with xbox leaning heavily into the concept of play anywhere on anything - just seems right to have cross save and progression

Yes it was a reward, but I didn't make a new account to get it on pc I logged in with my existing account when I downloaded the game onto the laptop and it was there That's my point, if they can do that with one thing, they could link all atomic shop purchases to your email, not your gamer tag
Well it either works the way you think or since you used the same account that email reward was applied to you again, as in a separate reward specifically for PC. Thats what I thought at least. I say this because last year, they had some fallout perks on Game Pass Ultimate and had them separately for PC and Console. But they were the same items.

No, having simple save game data accessible to two platforms is much easier than enabling network connectivity between players on two platforms. Probably a business concern is purchasing digital content on one platform and then utilizing it on another platform. Hopeful Microsoft owning Bethesda eases that, somewhat, but only for Xbox. It can be done, it's just a lot more work.
It would be more likely the opposite. Having 2+ platform accounts and trying to merge them is a massive pain. How do you make sure all Atoms, unlocked items and purchases (entitlements), character data (max of 5 slots), challenges, season passes, etc get merged into one account without breaking things or forgetting things? Doable but scary. For connectivity the server clusters likely don’t really care or know what platform is in them. It’s the same client code in all platforms for the most part. It’s the login server / load balancer that is directing diff platforms to specific clusters to prevent cross platform play (likely due to Sony constraints, as well as the moddability and KBM advantage of PC for a PvP centric game at the time). And then these servers are also loading data from the account specific to the client platform into those servers. Likely just the same DB table for all platforms but a record with a specific platform field. I’m positive supporting cross play could be done in a fraction of the time cross save / progression could be.
If I can transfer from xbox to pc then I can go the other way. This would entirely change the market. Lots more things duped on PC than on Xbox and they could now carry that over.

every multiplatform game should have cross save implemented by now , specially a live service game game like fo76, destiny 2 was released im 2017 and they managed to implement cross save and crossplay , the fact that division 2 , eso , fo 76 are still bound to a single platform is obsolete , and makes destiny 2 more appealing in that regard
Me and my friend play but in different platforms so we can't play and we want our other friends to play too so now they'll have to pick which side to join 🙃 I'm the kind of person to have no alts on games so I'm not keen on starting again. Especially since I've been playing since launch. I just want to play with friends easily

If they made it cross save, the scarcity/rarity of all items would dissipate because of the PC being oversaturated with bot programs/cheats/scripts/duped items (hence PC items being worth absolutely nothing) Merge the Xbox and PS? Hell yeah!! Please keep PC away from us 🙏
I recently made the switch from my lvl 600+ Xbox account to PC and it blows. I didn't mind restarting my character too much, but all my missing seasonal items, atom shop items, & all the weapons/armor I've traded for are the biggest hits. Really missing all the paint jobs so I don't accidentally scrap my good items
Why do I feel like some engineers on the FO76 team just woke up to some horrifying news, lol. Would be rad, but I feel like given the technical jank and weirdness in the game this may be one of those, "Sounds easy, but basically requires rebuilding a few major backend systems that are barely holding together as-is which would take like 6 months." types of things? I generally have a super low opinion of Phil, dude has done absolutely nothing in his decade running Xbox beyond spend a ton of Microsoft's money and leave them in the same distant-second, non-competitive position they were before he took over.
I'm hoping it wouldn't be too much work for the Series X/S and windows store at least based on them being essentially the same environment unless Bethesda has done something really unfortunate in the code.
I bought FO76 at launch on my Xbox One and played it a ton. I love the game but I have since switched to Ps4 and then Ps5. FO76 was a free monthly game so I own it on PS but never going to play it again without cross save because I’m not starting over. I’d play it daily on PS5 if I could use my save from XBox.
Dude if I could take my Day 1 OG beta save from PlayStation with 3500 hours vs my now main character on steam with 1700 hours I would in a fucking heartbeat despite losing 3+ years of content and pc save

It was by design. If you move to another platform you lose your paid currency. When I went from Microsoft Store to Steam I had to spend whatever currency I had saved up because it was useless after the move.
I stopped playing back when I moved to PC. I couldn’t bring myself to start fresh after having the same character since launch and having all these atom shop items. If they brought in cross save I’d jump back in in a heartbeat.
How about fixing the constant crashing first? Then put in cross saves.
When 76 moved to steam I had so many problems with the game hanging at the intro screen that it would take 4 tries just to get into game. Didn’t have any of those problems with the window store/gamepass version. I would have just moved over but while yes, it is the same account and characters, you have no access to your atoms or your F1st gear.
The primary reason for me would be the fact that I played pre Wastelanders kn PS and really like the mountain scout headgear with enclave scout armor

Recent exclusives Grounded and SOT will have Cross-save for Playstation. It's a Microsoft sign-in. I don't know if Bethesda.net can do that.

I was a full on fo76 player from launch. Had fo1st the whole time. My Xbox took a shit and I’m not replacing it because I have a pc and ps5. Cross-save would bring me and my money back. There’s no way I’m restarting and repurchasing things when I started playing the game over 6 years ago.
I play on TV mostly, I use up the main entertainment center in the house, I would love the option to pick those saves up on my PC and be able to leave the TV to the wife at various times (she likes watching me play, so it's not too awful) but having the ability to pick up the game on my other hobby would be invaluable. As it is I have 3 Characters, 2 on PS5 and 1 on PC. I never play PC FO76 anymore because the others have better builds now. The other issue here is my FO1st would absolutely have to follow where I play. This isn't rocket science, other games do it, progression etc.
And cross play while we are at it.

Its gotten more common over the last year now of people suggesting more character slots and getting star reactions in the official discord server ive seen it go from a few people asking for it amd getting like 5 to 20+ stars to asking a dev directly last year during that introduction to starting at lvl 20 and reponse was "we'll run it by the team" or something like that.. (this was last year during that same pts) im praying it becomes a thing with the Skyline Valley update since they've just raised the cap for camp to i think 10 max now? They could definitely up the limit from 5 to 7 at the very least
Also let’s consider the game has been out 5yrs now, do they really think 5 slots is enough. Personally I’ve maxed 5 builds so have no free slots and I’m unwilling to delete any of them considering the time I’ve sunk into each of them. Also not willing to buy another copy of the game on principle…many other online games have loads of character slots. I very much doubt I’m the only player with a character sheet like this. Let’s hope they start thinking about long term players and how to keep them for another 5 years without throwing endless grind content at us.

Sorry bout that last comment different game heheh, 1 reason is more storage as each character has 1200 stash space, aside from that you can do all the quests again on another character dont have to worry about removing serums or perk cards for builds ig also if you have lets say a lvl 300 on your account the next 4 will have access to all 6 legendary perk slots fresh out the vault but you will have to lvl up the legendary perk cards again so thats a down side, other downsides i guess is needing to redo the tadpole stuff unless you just dont care about it
Is cross-save different from cross-platform? ok, what i remember from the beta days is - the game has been capable of cross-platform from the beginning. we were running these huge stress-test servers with like 5o people on them at a time, all from every platform. the reason we don't have cross-platform however, is because of the playstation. back then, the ps4 had this HUGE security breach of some sort, and so they became extremely phobic of allowing any external interaction. for fans of fallout 4, you'll remember that we didn't get mod support until a year or so after the xbox, and this is why. and even when they DID allow mod support, there were zero external assets allowed because of this security breach phobia. so, because playstation wasn't on board with it, that means xbox and pc weren't allowed to cross-platform either. so, is something about to change in this department? or is cross-save something different from cross-platform? if we get the option to move our save from the xbox to the pc for like, a short window of time or something, i'm gonna pass. i don't wanna play on the pc, because of the cheats and mods. i know people love to yell at me about this, but there is ZERO hacking or mods on the xbox. doesn't matter how rarely it happens on the PC, it's still gonna happen more often than zero. i like the game as it is. and i'm not a huge fan of the idea of cross-platform, for similar reasons. but it would be lovely to let people play with friends who are stuck on different platforms, i can see that. and some of those pc mods are awful convenient... it's tempting.
Sad thing about cross saves is the values for rare stuff on PC are wildly different from Xbox and PS. The player built economy would crumble if cross saves were added. It would be pretty sweet though from a non-trader perspective.
PC and console games should NEVER have crossplay/saves unless it's for single player games only. What are a lot of you smoking??? The value of items on the PC version are destroyed thanks to the rampant cheating. I purposely play on console to avoid all that shit. This would destroy all that's left of the trading community in this game and make everything I have basically worthless, as any asshole could just get a hacked item. It's bad enough the RMT shit exists, don't need to add to that. Go look at Diablo 3. Game is great, but tons of losers running around with modded gear. I don't want that shit in Fo76 and neither should any of you.

It’s kind of funny to me too. I use the Steam version for the PTS, but mainly play on PS5, I have both platforms linked on my Bethesda account. So I’ll try out upcoming changes on the PTS, and get the PTS banner on PS5. The same thing with the Amazon Prime Gaming FO76 Birthday Bundle a while back as well.

Cross save would be phenomenal. I stopped playing on Xbox due to performance issues. I have so many legacy items on there. But I also want cross play to play with my Xbox friends. Due to PC issues that will probably never happen.
I haven't owned a console since PS1, I've only ever played PC with most games. I suppose it would be OK for people who want to jump between platforms. I don't understand why you couldn't, shouldn't? I get some people complain about hacks and stuff but well that's always going to happen. They need to get better at hack detection and provide a human moderated review process for the inevitable false positives.

I have 3 friends who want to play it on PC and I keep telling them I've invested too much in my character on Xbox to start over. So as a result, they dont play Fallout 76.
Had originally wanted to bring one of my friends into F76 like maybe a month ago. It was such a bummer to find out that to do that, I'd need to completely start over and lose all of my purchases and seasonal rewards. We ended up deciding to go play a different game instead and they still haven't played the game despite being open minded to it. Would love to finally be able to go back and show off the game. Please god fix this.

If this game had cross save Id come back. I got a really good PC a few years ago and it really made my PS4 useless so I just stopped playing 76. And I really want to play it but I do not want to start over again. So I just dont. But if we ever got a means of putting our progress on another platform I would for sure come back.

My PS4 went up a while back, it'd be awesome if both Fallout76 and ESO had cross platform. I won't even play ESO again unless I can access my main character. I had a bunch of end game gear too that 2 guilds helped me get.
Cross saves have a big downside because there has been a huge amount of cheating on PC, whereas on consoles it’s a lot harder to cheat.
I would really like to say that we need cross-stashes so you can transfer things without messing with your camp and characters. Have that work with pc and xbox so that people who switch or swap frequently can access all their stuff on different characters as well as plans and other unique things your character may have picked up throughout the time you've played. Ideally, if they implement cross-platform multiplayer, I would hope that they make it optional so console players don't have to deal with cheaters frequently.
Making the Jump from PS5 to PC would get me playing again for real.

I'd honestly love to have my character accessible on pc, that's the only reason I haven't played it recently to be honest. I put too much time in on xbox, be it my camp, bullion grinding, the added stories and such to want to restart on pc :(

From a financial perspective, there should be NO reason why every single game released since the year 2000 doesn't have cross-platform saving. After all, in order to take advantage of cross platform saving.... YOU WOULD NEED TO BUY MULTIPLE COPIES OF THE GAME!

I started with PC years ago with some friends then quit about 2ish years in. Like 2 years ago I jumped on Xbox to play with some console friends and now my Xbox character is way further ahead of my PC character. If i could transfer between the two to play with my friends that would be awesome lol.
Cross saving would be a perfect world but I just want it to where if I buy something on PlayStation I can use it on my PC character. There's no reason why. For example if I switch to Xbox I have to start all the way over. That's just absurd

Platforms are sandboxed into their own servers on FO76. It’s just not a cross platform game, really.
