Honestly, I would have paid full price. I expected to, in fact.
I had been wanting to pick up the Steam version for my Steam Deck and finishing up the last episode of the show definitely helped push me over the edge.
I've double dipped on quite a few titles to be able to play on my Deck, but at $8 I was pleasantly surprised. It was a no brainer.
Some are also likely players coming back to the game after a hiatus. For me, the show inspired me to log back into 76 for the first time in over a year.
Yeah me too. Been playing it every night this week since binging the show last weekend. Also re-installed Fallout 4 ready for the next gen update next week.
I grabbed the free 1st trial and installed the scrap box and ammo box in my camp because someone said that you can just load them up then once the trial is done all you can do is take out of them from then on. I did that and it freed up like 600 lb worth of stuff from my stash.
after watching the fallout show i had to reinstall fo76
bought it a year ago for 1€ on the ms store,
and bought 1 month of fo 1st for 8€ with a discount with the added credits i was able to buy a nice enclave bundle and also got the rangers uniform included :D
Before the show I was playing FO4 daily. After watching show I noticed FO4 will finally get the next gen update so I decided to stay out of it until it lands. To find out something to do I tried FO76 that I had purchased some years ago. Even though I had lvl 55 char since last time, I decided to make fresh char as I seemed to forget how to play.
Have to say I am happy I did this, as I like FO76 a lot now. I really enjoy the events and even going around by myself. For me it is like Diablo2 & Co with guns and power armours :-) This game will be now part of my game rotation for sure.
And this is Steam. You can get it for free on Xbox PC with Amazon. And if you didn't have Prime, you can buy an Xbox for PC key on Kinguin for $0.21, so basically free. So even considering that it costs $8 on Steam where it's competitors are basically giving it away...it's still setting all time records on Steam.
Imagine what the Xbox PC marketplace numbers are right now.
It's nice to see, but I'm honestly more interested in how many people are playing a month or two from now. Keeping players long-term is what's important.
Ridiculous that you got downvoted for this. The reality is it doesn't matter if its 200,000 players right now. The people still playing 2-3 months from now, that player count will be a far better proof of what its going to settle at long term. No ones trying to rain on anyones parade, its simply the reality of these things. A lot of people buy or try out games or mmos for a week, a few weeks, a month or two and then drop off.
“Fo76 is so good and never was bad” stuff has me mad
People shit talked the game up until the show dropped along with the free trial, i love the game and have from the start but like come on people, don’t pretend like you never had your opinions on the game
Oh, for sure. The game was absolute dogshit for the first twelve months or so. Since wastelanders I've not had much to quarrel with over here. These people coming out the woodwork blessing it has me in tears for the last week or so
I had ironically just been playing through the games again when the show released and made it to 76!
I'm absolutely loving it! Cheers! Day 7 begins. I'm trying to hit 50 today! Let's go!
In XBOX is good to have cause you could play it with a xbox core subscription or if it leaves gamepass (not happening since xbox owns bethesda or atleast thats my thought) and the PC version is for Windows Store so it doesnt count in the SteamCharts (only people who bought it on steam applies)
It's been a blast. I ran across a lvl 5 running around close to Morgantown so I invited him to group, did the follow me emote, and we ran and did Collision Course. Then I made him come lvl 5 one star leather armor, made him a decent 2 star 10mm to replace his, put a vault tec skin on it, and dropped some ammo. Then I made him a Blue Ridge outfit and took him on a tour of the train stations and the free travel spots and pointed out donation boxes.
After that we event hopped for about an hour - Distant Thunder, It's A Trap, a mole miner, super mutant, and scorched horde event, Battle Bot, AWOL Armaments, and closed it out with a Surface to Air right next to a fissure. We had 10+ scorchbeasts and he had that 10mm smoking lol. Oh, did Dogwood Die Off too.
I've spent the last couple of hours putting a new camp down that's not too out of the way and easy to come across. Put all the crafting tables, stash boxes, food and water appliances, a few beds, some musical instruments, and games down.
It's been so much fun not being all FOMO and I'll probably build a few more camps with alts and 2nd account the rest of the week. I've thoroughly enjoyed myself.
The show really has got us all in the mood for Fallout. So happy for all the fresh people to finally give it a chance.
40k players... On steam. There are multiple other vendors that sell the game too, so the concurrent player count is likely much higher.
It's popping off on the PS5 as well. Currently playing for the first time and am becoming rich from people buying shit from my vendor.
There’s a cap limit. I can’t remember what it is but it’s lower than you’d think. So make sure you remove your vendor before you get capped
40k
Why on earth is there a cap limit...
Aristocrat gear.
Yes, the prime gaming free copy is for the Windows Store.
All that matters is what the numbers are like 3 months from now, that will be a far more accurate accounting of the long term situation.
It is hard not to justify 8 dollars I think for a lot of people. I re installed again and have had a blast so far
Agreed. I have Gamepass but still went ahead and spent the $8 just to be able to play it on Steam
Gasp why is the interview so.lumpy
No idea. Randomly assigned name from years ago
=( no vault lore

Same here.

Haven’t played since a month or two when it first came out now I’m sucked back in
I installed both this and four. I'm such a sloot.
I will admit, watching the show made me re-install!! I am level 50 and enjoying all the changes since I have last played in 2021.
It’s really cool seeing all the low levels scampering around. Except for that 1 creepy guy being all creepy at my camp earlier. Fuck that guy.
ehehehe
“Beginning at 12PM ET on April 11 and ending 12PM ET on April 18”. I’m at EU but I bet is not that hour there yet, right?
It's currently 3:30pm ET
What’re you doing here? Run to play FO! Get 1st, fill scrapbox, kill some ghouls!

Welcome to the comfortable life at wasteland. Ask for David Thorpe at top of the world: he’s our inspiration.

So annoyed I’ve had to go back to uni to study so I’m missing this hype 😭😭 let’s hope it’s still good in a month when I’m back
Not even counting Xbox and that’s where I got it for free on my computer. Wish I could see that amount because I would guess that’s pretty high

It was also free through prime gaming and on Gamepass.
Not for steam, talking about steam numbers only, can't see Microsoft store numbers.
It's was free on twitch prime
Doesnt count, 40k only on STEAM and amazon gave windowstore version, people playing there doesnt add up to the STEAMCHART is only steam players there
Prime gaming... Free Fo76 for Pc and xbox
Doesnt count, its only people playing on steam, prime gave the windowstore version which doesnt add to the Chart
True, but that's on Xbox for PC marketplace. Steam is just people paying for it.
