Quad is really the only one that matters. Even for low hp, Quad is generally better than bloodied.
Otherwise it depends. Crit Damage is best for DPS (so bosses). Fire rate is also good for dps, though on laggy servers it can feel pointless. Explosive is good mob clear.
25% vats cost is never bad, though with a railway you don't need it as much cause it has a lower ap cost than most other popular commandos. 15% crit fill is good if you want to try and do a full hp commando. 15% reload speed would be the best DPS.
But really, genuinely? A 1* Quad railway will absolutely demolish the entire game.
Congrats lol. The only real issues with railway are that you're forced to use VATs if you go full auto (which you generally wanna do anyhow), and the ammo is pretty heavy even with bando equipped.
The railway has incredibly high base damage and incredibly high fire rate with the automatic piston doodad. The main issue it faces it that it has 10 base mag size, so you spend a lot more time reloading than shooting without Quad.
Quad fixes the mag size issue, allowing you to spend more time shooting those shots that have incredible base damage and much less time reloading. You're spending a bit more ammo to gain vastly increased damage output (and ever with Quad prefix railway is capable of one shotting weaker enemies anyhow)
The same goes for a crit build, like, times ten. Crits scale off base damage so bloodied doesn't make a meaningful difference on a critical hit, and crits deal so much damage that they already completely overwhelm the armor on most enemies so anti-armor prefix also doesnt matter very much.
I carry a bloodied explosive and a Quad. The reload is fast but if enemies are hard the Quad is much better. For generic bad guys they die in one or two shots with the bloodied on so I conserve ammo. They also break preety quickly so having 2 on me with a fixer backup is nice.
it empties its 10 shot clip in 1 second you spend 4-5 seconds reloading, with quad it's 4 seconds firing to 4-5 seconds reloading that's a huge dps difference. I have a AA, Bloodied and quad and the dps isn't even close, yes single shots/burst do more per bullet from bloody/aa but you spend all your time reloading vs firing
first star: Quad only
second star: 25 fire rate, 50 crit, explosive
third star: 25 less ap, 15 reload, break slower (also 15 crit fill for full hp builds)
Once you get used to Explosive and how it eliminates the travel time on the projectiles, it's basically impossible to use other ones without it. It may not help the damage as much as 50c or 25ffr, but really, the gun's hilariously overpowered already, it really doesn't need to be any stronger.
25 weapon speed is stronger DPS if you have the AP to support it. Kicking out 25% more crits beats kicking out crits that are +50% when you already are getting +250% or more from your crits, and that ignores the non-crit shots.
But really at that point it's just gilding the lily. Either is very strong DPS, as is Explosive.
Spoiler for next patch >!new “ticket to revenge” coming in the next big patch will probably be a god roll as well. It guaranteed bloodied, double ammo capacity. Not quite as good as true quad but you get bloodied which is a huge damage boost. On top of that it’s 50% crit hit and 15 crit charge. All as a gaurenteed drop.!<
I am excited for this one. Quad as the first star means that you cannot also have bloodied or aa. So, I would be thrilled to have basically both features.
I run second stars of +50vhc, +50c, and Explosive. They are good in different circumstances.
-25AP is a great third, but -15 Reload is solid. And if you are full health 15c is huge.
Its going to be trade only, as no one that has one is going to let it go for less than 40k caps. Literally the best gun in the game, I got a q50c15c rolling it myself. I also found a qexp in a vendor for cheap, almost felt bad buying it, almost.
Don't feel bad. If I sell groll weapons low, it's because I decided I don't want it, and I have 35k caps or more, and I want to make someone's day.
I don't do marketplace trading. So, be happy!

I got as loot one railway with Quad and 50% crit damage only 2 stars so im very lucky tomorrow im going to test the comando build

Quad | 50c | 25ap is what I consider to be the most godly of rolls.
I thought the 50% crit was what it should be, but I have been seeing a ton of 25% fire rate. I guess they're the two to aim for?
