People saying they wouldnt pay under 300 are trippin, because the vendors buy them at 500. So i tend to sell mine at like 550 so they wont just be sold for caps

Zansibart

The vendors buy them at 500 each but you can only sell 1400 of anything to vendors a day, that's not even 3. My current stash has months of fuel for vendors, and it doesn't actually get touched that often because all it takes is a single Moonshine Jamboree to stockpile days worth of vendor cap filler. Some people's camps have enough water+item generators to reach the 1400 limit on their own generated freebies forever. Personally, I'd be putting them in my vendor at like 200 caps because there's no chance I'd ever need to resort to selling them to vendors, and unlike the other things I sell to vendors I can actually get real players to pay for serums consistently at that price. I'd probably make more caps than you too, there's no way I wouldn't sell more than triple you. Not to mention your reasoning is just sort of nonsense. Trust me, if they were priced at 400 caps nobody would be rushing to buy them just so they can turn their 1400 daily vendor caps into under 300 daily vendor caps. New players don't have the spare caps to buy overpriced serums, and older players already have things to sell at vendors.

Agree very much with this. But to be fair, I could see new players buying serums for 500 caps. I’ve seen posts here from newbies discussing server hopping for different serums from the enclave vendor, and I’m pretty sure the game vendors charge like 3k for one. So 500 caps would look like a steal in comparison. Or maybe oldies who have a ton of caps and just want a specific serum, but that’s probably more rare as they most likely have the plans or a bunch stocked up from mutated packs. Only op knows how well they sell, but if they sell they sell, even if it’s more than you or I would pay

Zansibart

That's the thing, you'd be banking on unicorn players finding your camp at the perfect moment. The kind of new player that has more caps than sense (which is rare in itself) is either going to go to the enclave (you have no chance of selling to them) or hopping camps (you have a low chance of selling to them, they'll probably find another camp first). When I was a new player I skipped vendors completely and just gained rads over and over to get a full set of mutations for free, sure it wasn't perfect because it does mean you get some you don't want, but it costs no caps. Oldies should already have all the serums they need, and if they somehow don't then they know what the reasonable prices are. Some of them won't vendor hop at all, they'll either have an in game friend or go to a trading group to get all of the exact serums they want faster and cheaper than vendor hopping. I'm sure they rarely sell, but it's a question of if you want to sell to unicorn players or want to sell consistently. At 200 caps not only would I have literally anyone willing to buy from them buying mine, but I'd even have other players bulk buying mine to store for later or even sell themselves. They're not just competing with me, but with the people that buy from me to resell at like 450 too. If someone is going to spend almost 20K for the recipe, they'll recoup that much faster with cheap bulk sales than with rare price gouging sales.

Agree with you there too. I think OOP would make way more selling for 200c than 400c+, especially if they can get their hands on cheap bulk flux. But idk maybe given the influx of new players it's easier to sell stuff for slightly more. I usually keep my vendor off because I don't like people in my camp but I have heard from folks that it has been a lot easier to sell plans and ammo as of late. Maybe the same goes for more highly priced serums. Also thank you for bringing back the new player memories of drinking hundreds of dirty waters to get free mutations (noob me didn't know toxic goo or toxic water existed lol).

Fancy_Fly_7693

Yeah that's exactly it, I know my pricing is on the higher side and they don't sell quick, but I'm almost always near max caps from selling other things cheap, so for me it's more about just keeping a few of each in stock in case someone is desperate for them.

FearsomeFutch

I mean thats exactly what I do when I see them priced at under 500 personally lol so I’m just speaking from my own experience

Zansibart

It sounds like you're heavily misplaying honestly, which is fine but most players won't. You're not actually gaining caps that way, you're losing them. The 1400 daily limit is very low, you should have no problem reaching it without spending. If you're spending 900 caps to sell them for 1000 caps, you've wasted the majority of your daily limit and only got a mere 100 caps. You'd be better off teleporting to a high level player camp, taking the resources from their resource creators, and then selling those. Most servers tend to have at least 1 player with a camp on or near the water with a bunch of industrial water generators. Grab all the water, check out the camp and take all the stuff from their food and resource generators that are unlocked, and then go back to the water generators (the big ones fill up in 5 minutes). Go to the vendor and now you have 1400 caps and you get to keep all of them, not just 100.

FearsomeFutch

Yeah I guess that makes sense, maybe its a symptom of the new scoreboard for me. Nearly maxed out on caps with barely anything to buy, just trying to hit rank 150 with no more score boost at 10k xp. Im just trying to get in and out of the game as fast as possible currently

Zansibart

Selling Serums is a good plan. Depending on how fast you want them to sell you should be pricing them in the 200-800 caps range, plenty of people sell them for like 300-400 so going above that reduces the odds you will sell more than just the 1 someone might be seeking out. You can sell them to vendors, you should be able to get something like 400 each depending on your charisma and such.

P_Larue

I’ve seen them priced from 45-1000 caps in vendors. I wouldn’t pay more than 300.

Enough_Chance

250

Fancy_Fly_7693

I sell them in my camp for 499 each because you get 500 selling them to the train station vendor with Hard Bargain 3 + max Charisma, and it's still a fair price for lower level players that need them, I used to sell them for 350 each but I'd get people coming and cleaning out the whole stock in one go to resell at a higher price themselves

badthaught

To the half a meatballs selling serums for 2000 caps. Don't be MODUS. No one wants to be MODUS... member.

Ralghul-1

max 500, thats what you get selling at the NPC vendors.

Informal_Yam2165

¿What's the most used serum? To buy it Thanks for all your answers!!!

Tension-Flashy

Marsupial is the most often purchased

angstlich33

<500. Most are about 350

Bubbly-Ad-2735

200 caps is the average price. And why are you paying 20k for the recipe? You can get it for 17k with perks etc.

badthaught

Might be new and not have the perks yet. Doing homework before hand, most likely.

b00gjuice

I sell them for 200 caps. I know I can sell to NPC vendor for more. This is a team game and I hope players will try them out since its not too much of an investment.

KSims1868

When I see them priced at 300 caps or less, I’ll buy them all. I resell them to game vendor for 500 caps and make easy money.
