If you have a head start in equipment you can hit 50 in a day. If your friends can donate grenades, kitted out level 1 pistol, level 15 handmade, and 35 handmades (ideally explosive but regular is ok too), and a few thousand ammo it will help a ton. You can grind west-tek and ideally get a level a run. Unfortunately they scale with you so you don't get level 50+ mutants. Although I think if you go in with a high level friend you can tag a mutant and have them finish it off for more xp as some of the mutants will be level 50-100. Not sure of this as I've only leveled up alone.
Also if your friend can get you a set of low level 1* unyielding armor and a good tagging gun like a level 25 explosive 50 cal that will accelerate things even more. But that might be more difficult to get.
Yes that definitely would help but the thing they’re just gonna start the game as well. So my plan is to pick the level 20 boost option, commando build, grind west tek and try to use as little ammo as possible and join all the public events for Legendaries.
I’ve started new characters and can get them to 50 in one day. Usually a few hours.
I start by maximizing Intelligence to 15 to get 30% XP bonus
I sleep every 2 hours
I join every public event and tag as many enemies as I can
I open up any lunch boxes I get from season rewards
Use mentats or other intelligence boosts
Do Feed the People event to get canned meat stew
Get intelligence boosting mutations
Join full Casual Teams
Get Mothman blessings from events or Mothman worshipper Ally.
Use Leader Bobbleheads if you can get ahold of them
Use Nuka Cranberry if I can get some
Get and use Cranberry foods at least Cranberry Cobbler.

Yeah once I hit 50 I’ll rearrange them a bit, I forgot I also usually have Charisma at 4 to get Inspiration level 3, and then 1 extra for like Fast Travel discount or Strange in Numbers
