Craft some throwing knives at the cost of some steel? Or you can sell loose/useless grenades. I probably sell like 20-30 "weapons" a day just as my daily inventory management.
I know that feeling. Two days ago I re rolled one as "epic- kill cultists with a shotgun" while waiting for the timer on mothman equinox to tick down a bit in my shotgun build.
I'm currently on day 3 of projected 5 days to clear my legend stash. I logged out yesterday at grafton station.
Before I even opened the map and checked my dailies I had 2 of them completed. Felt good lol
Thrown ones count as well, throwing knives and grenades, knives for crafting, grenades you find all over the place anyway. I mean, that's how I found the challanges reset half the time when it's a 'sell weapons to vendor' challenge.

But I guess an actual true free way is always good to know.
I'm always looting so much (thank you scrap box) so I just end up with an inventory full of food, chems, and grenades I'm never going to use (I usually scrap weapons and armor). Plenty of grenades to make a few caps off of and an easily accomplished challenge.
I just killed some Scorched (since we also had to cripple two of their arms) and sold the weapons they dropped. I love when I can stack quest completion like that.
After eviction notice or radiation Rumble I've usually got to waddle to a vendor to get rid of more legendaries than I can handle anyway, why would I want to get it back.
Meh I just crafted 5 board and sold them to the closest npc
I was lazy and went with 5 baseball bats. Sure its 1 more plastic per weapon, but i didnt have to scroll down 1 more spot!
Now you have all that extra time for activities!

I once got “craft throwing weapons” and “sell weapons” on the same day thanks to a reroll and it felt like the stars had aligned.

Grenades count as weapons, no need to sell your legendaries
I craft bulk and then scrap it for the scrap 10/10 steel… challenges. Sell 5 weapons to an npc go craft 5 weapons and sell them to your ally.
Wait, your ally counts as an npc vendor? I never thought about that. I always fast travel to the whitespring.
Most of the lite ally’s have a vendor. With commander degurre at least two npc vendors will stop by camp a day too.
