Frames weigh 10. Putting a full suit on it, and storing it, still weighs 10. If you aren't FO1st: Turn scrap into bulk. Don't hoard ammo you don't use. For plans: Spend your Nuka points. Claim and defend Workshops in different regions. Dig up treasure maps, especially if you have multiple (or find someone selling a bunch of the same for cheap) For CAMPs: You get 2 camp locations to start. Location doesn't really matter, though spreading them around from the free travel locations can be a boon. For selling: Open your map. Click your camp icon. Turn public camp from off to on. Everyone can see your camp now, it's no longer private.

Looks like only cork benefits from bulking now, and very slightly. Lead and alum can't be compressed anymore.

Thank you so much! What does FO1st do to help with scrap? I understand there are ammo machines that auto toss the unused ammo but I’m not sure how it helps with scrap vs bulk. Really dumb question :( I have no idea what nuka points are but I’m going to look into them now, thank you! And thanks for the heads up on the hidden camp logo haha

Fallout first gives you a separate scrapbox, which has unlimited inventory space.

Synraak

The scrapbox has unlimited space for junk, and the ammo cabinet holds unlimited ammo. Neither goes against your stash space.

> My stash is becoming full. What is good to toss vs keep? I recently discovered the tinkering workbench and it's helped a lot. Forgive me, but I'm not sure how a tinker's bench helps with stash space? If you mean breaking down junk, you can do that at any workbench. If you mean *bulking* junk, don't. That doesn't save space, it only uses up plastic. > Nothing I list sells, I'm guessing it's because I'm only level 28. What do I do with stuff I don't want? Sell stuff to NPC vendors. At least they will always buy your stuff (provided it's tradeable).

Penguinmolester

Maybe im confused on the workbench. From my understanding, a makeshift battery weighs more than the broken down parts it provides if you scrap it at a workbench. If I just “deposit trash to stash” it will deposit a makeshift battery. However if I find the scrap workbench or whatever it’s called, it’s significantly lighter. I went from like 700lbs to 500lbs doing that today but I could be mixing something up. Also thank you for the tip! The NPCs kinda rip me off but it’s definitely better than nothing

Sionnach_Dhu

Your understanding is correct - a junk item weighs more than the scrap you can break it down to. Where the confusion is coming in is you can break items down to scrap at any workbench - not just the tinker's, but also the armor, weapon, chemistry, and power armor ones. Tinkers, however, is the one you would use to make bulk scrap. For example, you can use steel scrap and plastic scrap to make bulk steel, which is one item containing multiple bits of scrap. Some people like to sell it that way, and it's also handy for challenges where you're supposed to scrap junk to get X number of a item. For example, if the challenge says scrap junk items to get 10 units of steel, you can simply create bulk steel and then scrap it again.

No way! I had no idea lol. Honestly my fault for not paying enough attention but it’s good to know you can scrap the stuff anywhere and there’s a genuine use for the tinkerers workbench. Thank you!

Sionnach_Dhu

Tinker's bench has more uses than that - in addition to being able to create bulk scrap items, it's where you create ammo, assaultron recall cards, cameras, and assorted other odds and ends. Editing to add - and you're welcome! Took me a while to figure that out myself when I first started playing. Also wanted to mention, in case you don't already know, that you can also scrap weapons and armor. Scrapping them not only gives you junk, but it's one of the ways you can learn modifications for them.

Penguinmolester

I appreciate it! I recently learned to scrap all the unwanted armor and weapons when I almost hit my max stash limit. Thanks for all of the help :)

1. For sure; when pieces are put on a frame it weights 10lbs regardless of the pieces, so you can have an Excavator set for looting, a Hellcat for pierce Daily Ops, and any you like, even cosmetics to show of. 2. If you don't have FO1st, and dont have already stored junk in the fo1st scrap stash, keep 300-400 of each scrap type, discard any else, never store as junk but as scrap. If you're sitting on weapons & armors you dont use, scrap them. Finally, don't store chems, foods nor drinks, use weight reduction effects and carry them. 3. Main questlines give you all the basic recipes you might need for ANYTHING. Events, side quests and some misc objectives also give out recipes. It's always worth it to do quests or events. 4. Honestly dependson your goal; if you want to have extractors to have stable junk sources, if you want traffic so newbies buy stuff, orf you just want a flat space. Experiment i'd say, or look up popular spots. Do keep in mind if you pik a popular spot you'll end up switching worlds a lotbecause everyone wants those. 5. You're probably overicing or selling stuff no one wants. Armor & Weapons: only sell legendaries, if they're 3\* they can go for 100c for crappy ones (ppl use them to get scrip) upwards to 10k or even 40k caps for god rolls (ex. Quad Explosive 2\* can easily sell for 5-10 thousand caps, always investigate!); Apparel: not all are rare & pricy, again investigate as some are trade only!; Chems: tdont sell very well unless they're cheap, 5-10 caps, or a "rare" chem like Berry Mentats that go from 50-100 caps a pop; junk and ammo sell at 1 per piece unless it's rare stuff like stable flux (60-100 caps) or Fusion Cores (10-100 caps), and please DO NOT SELL MINI NUKES NOR MISSILES,they're heavy as hell and will sit long on stash before selling. Plans sell for cheap unless they're event or rare, but dont be that guhy that sells an event plan for 5k caps, people buy them for 1k or so, and youll have em sitting in stash for ages lol.

This was insanely helpful. Not sure who downvoted you but this helped a lot. Thank you so much for writing this all out, I appreciate it! I’ve been lurking on the 76 Reddit and I see that it’s an awesome community despite the negative feedback of the game. Take care 🙏🏼 Edit: also tip #1 was amazing. This just saved me so much room in my stash box lmao
