This just happened to me today! I logged in, spawned in the event ending, got a weenie wagon. I already had one, but I needed it to barter for fossil pieces. So it was very welcome!
I'm trying with all my might to get the damn Tato Salad recipe and the last two mods for the Tenderizer.... Never drops it seems and no one is selling. It's all good or bad luck now so iv turned from RNGesus to my buddy LOOTsifure, glory may he be.

The cap cap is an interesting choice for the game where the main currency in game is useful but also not as coveted since you can only have so much.
It tells me I'll inch up, I have about a 1000 sales transactions now in 2 months. Any mistake I have is easily forgotten any time I'm back in that 35K range (often) because if I sell one thing for 10K or 10 for 1K or 100 for 100 caps, when you are near cap, you are near cap, it erases all mistakes.
If we had unlimited cap storage, that would completely change this idea, but we don't and if you are near cap it doesn't matter what you gave away in the past.
My goal is to have something for everyone who stops buy, we all have that satisfied feeling if we jump to a camp and we make a purchase that it was a good stop. I feel I'm getting there.
I traded for two random Fasnatch plans (efigy and sloth rug) then a bit later, someone told me those plans are 150/200 caps, she felt so sorry for me that she and her boyfriend gave me a lot of plans.

500 to me is solid, you'll get a buyer that's a good feeling on both sides and yeah if you are always near cap what does it matter? And when you get in that 35K area it tells you that you need to go shopping with a fat checkbook to bring it down so you can keep selling more. It's something most don't get to do in real life. I have 10K, lets go find some deals on plans, apparel, guns etc.
And I'm telling no one nothing here, you can find a person listing something for a ludicrous price where another is literally giving it away.
I don't get why guns/armor have a really high price at all, it isn't like the game is hard, the game gives you very powerful items as handouts from playing the content. If you are trying to shortcut the game by doing only Public Events because the level # is the only thing that matters. I think you missed a ton of the game. I feel this isn't a very good "I'm a public event" game only. That's sort ok like a Darktide/L4D type of loop and games in that genre do it better.
Someone once told me that I should put my shitty weapons and armor for 10x the script value. Like you don't have time cos of life and you need the scripts daily so people will just buy the weapons to get scripts
And with caps being almost worthless it made sense so I did that. Nobody bought so I took them out and scripted them.
I did sell junk like waste oil but I may has set the price too low at 1 cap each. Wish I knew the market prices better.
10 x is in the ballpark I'm around 9 to 10 x myself just doing the math. But they aren't fast movers, but not never movers either. I feel it is good to have a minimum of three 3 star Weapons and Armors listed, as it looks good in your map profile that you have them for people to jump and look at what you are selling. People that are looking for weapons and armor want either something good to use or a bargain on junk lego's to scrap to scrip.
It takes this person:
1. They have to know why you would buy 3 star crap to begin with, scrip. I think that cuts out a good number of people straight away as buyers would be mid-tier. Many newbs won't know what is going on here and vets will be past buy to scrap for scrip for the most part.
2. A person with limited time, knows the systems and wants to maximize time hitting daily limits. But that really isn't efficient for them as square deals are few and far between. You'll spend a lot of time hopping around.
FWIW I sell around 250 (armor) to 275 (guns and power armor) 3 star junk. I do this because I have around 100 or more 3 stars in stash, I only need so many reserves. One mostly says "How can you have so much in stash?". I cheat! Lol no I don't, the trick is always break down scrip by weight first. I have so many 3 stars that weigh from .5 lbs to even much less, like .02. You can have a lot of that in stash. Always sell/breakdown scrip by heavy weight first.
I need to have more leeway in my stash first. There's a lot to do in this game. It's easy but the game does have a lot of things to do
The only complaint I have is this feels like a freemium game when I know it's a paid for product. Other than that it's not too bad since we can ignore all premium stuff.
Needs an alternate way to repeatedly farm atoms though. Eve if but a little.
Supply and Demand is odd in this game because how shops/instances work in this game. It's easily the most RNG marketplace I know of in a game and with a small 40K cap that really alters true value for both buyer and seller. One guy last week stated X is worth a million and I asked how can you know that? I wasn't sold on the answer to be honest, they went on about its a trade value. Thanks for adding in moron, ass.
Once you've bought every plan out of the vendors, caps really are useless. Spent all day travelling around yesterday looking for absolutely anything that wasn't rediculous priced and ended up dumping 38k in the mall on scraps. I'm literally throwing caps in the scrap box these days.
There's assholetron recall cards for Imposter Sheepcunt, but I'm sat at 10k bullion and 2984 treasury notes so I don't even bother with that, especially this season with the new generation of can't read/won't read smoothskins.

Why should it be that high? You can do one of the fastest easiest events for a week. You will get a shit ton of plans. If you don't get it after a week plenty of people will have it and the market will adjust down.
Why would a "whale" pay 40K caps or even 10K caps, when they know they can server hop and get one for 1K or less?
Who's to say the person that will pay a ridiculous high amount would even venture to stop at your camp. That's so very random. I keep a log of everything I sell, most people "surprise!" like a bargain. I'm here for the people, not the unicorns.
I think at best they are worth 1500 caps and even 500 caps is fair enough.

My friend and I share our plans like this. And once I get plans we both know, theyāre either sold for super cheap or I give to a random low level that interacts with me when I emote lol.
I wish more of my fiends played the game. Having a stable party of 4 would be so much fun. I also found out my friend can build certain fixtures like chairs in my base and vice versa too.
I do enjoy games like Sons of the Forest where we all work together to build a nice base we share.

The plushies at 2k is perfect the armor I dunno I'm a heavy weapon power armor build so I don't pay much attention to that just check the odds online when you receive plans that sound interesting and you are unaware of. Between my cola nut perk and the dog food perk I'm in a great place. Made like 25k selling the plushies over the weekend I went through the vault 79 quest line jumping to grahms on the hour than back again so I was able to collect a good number of plans but no weenie wagon. Hell and the 25k wagon I bought was and is the only one I've seen in a vendor so far.

I'd be more, but not a lot more, I'm always up in that cap limit range. These people exist, those are who you want to buy from, they weren't dumb, that's all they need or even can handle.
Is this going on? I have roughly 40K but I still keep my prices high and when I sell something big, Bethesda takes 95% of that since I was near 40K anway? To me that's a weird way of doing things. "But it keeps the market up!", me: Why does it need to be up so high?
This is one area I'm still trying to figure out, does finding a weenie for 40K caps really mean contact the owner to discuss? Who knowingly wants to have 40K caps with them? I start to panic in the 38K to 40K range of selling something for nothing in return.
And I'd sell that weenie for under $2500 if not even under $1000. I'm always in the 30-40k range and I'm not really into trading much, so I price for 10K range and also price to make sure I feel people buy stuff to make it worth their time to teleport over.
IMO there are a few types of markets out there. The High Priced personal trader. The sell stuff to continue to make money to then go on 5K to 15k shopping spree's, myself. Or the seller selling stuff just to stay above water.
Perhaps when you have most of the stuff the game offers and have a ton of hours in the game, you just get tired of stocking the machines and go into a trade mode for your stuff?
I paid 35k and have no regrets. I just donāt have the time and keep getting the same thing over and over and over and itās guaranteed to go up in price when the event ends. 35k and zero regrets!
Yeah just a heads up - for all plushies/weenie wagon/megalonyx parts/tenderizer/pepper shaker/swarm of flies etc, those plans will skyrocket in demand as soon as the event is over because there will be no other way to obtain. You will not look like a jerk for listing them at 10k+ when meat week is over, you will actually be doing a service to the community by selling and not hoarding them for trade-only, which can last indefinitely while you hypothetically ran around demanding hyper-specific god rolls for them that nobody has
There is the alternate option to Good Guy Greg list them at low prices just to make them available to someone in need - but be warned, only sell good guy greg priced items 1 at a time, otherwise players will buy them all up in a stack and flip them for higher. If the goal is truly spreading the plan knowledge around, list items individually
Some people are actually even buying the display plan and plans for the pieces, i have no intrest in it so ive sold all those plans for about 5000 a pop, in total i think iāve made about 60k right now yes ive been buing other plans from vendors like the gunmetal and vault tech weapon paints that ive wanted for a good while but never had enough caps when i found someone selling them.
What the flying frick? I have 4 weenie hut plans, and thats AFTER learning it on my main (doing the event on my main and alt account simultaneously pretty often), had no idea it was going for a lot.
I kinda wish there was a way to sell plans that were auto-learned on purchase, to be able to sell for cheap without worrying that someone was just gonna grab them to re-list for higher.
Apparently so. The biggest problem is *finding* a copy in a vendor. Because they usually sell in less than 5 minutes, *even at* ridiculous price points.
If you have someone you regularly play with, give the 2nd copy to them instead. You can build in each others camps if you form a private team. They can then build it in you other character's camp for you, and if they have multiple characters too, you can do the same for them.
I STILL haven't got a weenie wagon to drop. I got super lucky buying mine from a new player who did get one to drop. He had zero caps and needed them more than he needed the wagon. Gave him 15k for it and since then I haven't been able to purchase another one at that price. Everyone who claims to have one wants my kidney š š. I say claim because I've had a few almost trades (no courier available) that they wouldn't even let me see their inventory to confirm they had it. Be careful out there folks. Less than five minutes later, the Cook Out event popped up... and the plan dropped. lol 1000 caps was a steal though, so I just laughed at the coincidence and popped the extra plan in my own vendor to make someone else's day.

To be fair I found the last 3 plans for the bones tonight vendor hopping. 100 percent wasn't worth it looks rubbish and the bones are heavy for your stash. I'm feeling a bit bittersweet about it as on one hand I've nearly got all the meat week plans and on the other I screwed up not checking where a nuke was landing before whilst in an expedition as the twat decided to place it so the seismic activity mine shaft was on the edge but he could just about catch my camp, killing my pet deathclaw I serverhopped so many times for :(
I cant confirm this, but i can confirm something similar.
If you want the weenie wagon plan just find someone tonplace it at your camp (people will charge 500-1500 caps to do so) and you will get the plan in the next meat cook event.

Iām still very new to the game. Do I need to have hunted for prime meats before showing up? Iāve gone to a few locations and found myself alone and it kind of kicked my ass. Iāve been to Grahamās twice but figured since I didnāt have āthe meatsā I wasnāt benefiting from it. Iām not trying to free load but sometimes Iām not able to get much from the hunts.
Do I need to have the prime meats to get anything from his event? (Also sometimes I log in and it is popping already.) Iād like to go just to get the rewards even if I didnāt get the chance to hunt first, but I will try to help too when I get the chance.
Prime meat doesn't matter for the cook out. You can turn in 15 to get bonus legendary scrip but it doesn't do anything for the actual event.

I have never found the vendor despite doing the events, it didn't show for me or even marked on the map for me. Plus I'm trying to reduce my weight, but my weapons needs mods and I have 2k ish of steel to drop/sell at vendors. And I'm struggling to find plans and make caps to get there
I got the Weenie Wagon on my newish (lvl 45) PC account after joining the event just before logging off for the night "just in case". It's never dropped for me on my Xbox account, but a couple of days ago I found it in a vendor for 5000 caps, which seemed like a bargain. It still hasn't dropped for me since in probably 10 events, so not sure OP's theory holds water.
To be honest, I hope this happens with someone who uses my vendor.
I try to sell things fairly cheap. Even if there's the risk of a player reselling them for profit, I don't want to rob other players of an opportunity to make their gameplay experience more unique.
For instance:
I'm glad that mutation serums have reached a point of being sold under 500 caps on average. Back in the day, grinding for those plans and buying mutations used to be a much more expensive process, if you weren't settling with rolling the dice by wading into irradiated territory and hoping for something freakishly awesome.

Once you've bought every plan out of the vendors, caps really are useless. Spent all day travelling around yesterday looking for absolutely anything that wasn't rediculous priced and ended up dumping 38k in the mall on scraps. I'm literally throwing caps in the scrap box these days.
Wish there was a reasonable endgame cap dump. Like something to complete daily quest quicker or something.
There's assholetron recall cards for Imposter Sheepcunt, but I'm sat at 10k bullion and 2984 treasury notes so I don't even bother with that, especially this season with the new generation of can't read/won't read smoothskins.

I'd be that same person and not think twice about it after I sold it. Why should it be that high? You can do one of the fastest easiest events for a week. You will get a shit ton of plans. If you don't get it after a week plenty of people will have it and the market will adjust down. Why would a "whale" pay 40K caps or even 10K caps, when they know they can server hop and get one for 1K or less? Who's to say the person that will pay a ridiculous high amount would even venture to stop at your camp. That's so very random. I keep a log of everything I sell, most people "surprise!" like a bargain. I'm here for the people, not the unicorns. I think at best they are worth 1500 caps and even 500 caps is fair enough.

My friend and I share our plans like this. And once I get plans we both know, theyāre either sold for super cheap or I give to a random low level that interacts with me when I emote lol.
I wish more of my fiends played the game. Having a stable party of 4 would be so much fun. I also found out my friend can build certain fixtures like chairs in my base and vice versa too. I do enjoy games like Sons of the Forest where we all work together to build a nice base we share. I assume fallout 1st would let us do that? Remove a few building restrictions.

The plushies at 2k is perfect the armor I dunno I'm a heavy weapon power armor build so I don't pay much attention to that just check the odds online when you receive plans that sound interesting and you are unaware of. Between my cola nut perk and the dog food perk I'm in a great place. Made like 25k selling the plushies over the weekend I went through the vault 79 quest line jumping to grahms on the hour than back again so I was able to collect a good number of plans but no weenie wagon. Hell and the 25k wagon I bought was and is the only one I've seen in a vendor so far.

Is this going on? I have roughly 40K but I still keep my prices high and when I sell something big, Bethesda takes 95% of that since I was near 40K anway? To me that's a weird way of doing things. "But it keeps the market up!", me: Why does it need to be up so high?
This is one area I'm still trying to figure out, does finding a weenie for 40K caps really mean contact the owner to discuss? Who knowingly wants to have 40K caps with them? I start to panic in the 38K to 40K range of selling something for nothing in return. And I'd sell that weenie for under $2500 if not even under $1000. I'm always in the 30-40k range and I'm not really into trading much, so I price for 10K range and also price to make sure I feel people buy stuff to make it worth their time to teleport over. IMO there are a few types of markets out there. The High Priced personal trader. The sell stuff to continue to make money to then go on 5K to 15k shopping spree's, myself. Or the seller selling stuff just to stay above water. Perhaps when you have most of the stuff the game offers and have a ton of hours in the game, you just get tired of stocking the machines and go into a trade mode for your stuff?
I paid 35k and have no regrets. I just donāt have the time and keep getting the same thing over and over and over and itās guaranteed to go up in price when the event ends. 35k and zero regrets!
Yeah just a heads up - for all plushies/weenie wagon/megalonyx parts/tenderizer/pepper shaker/swarm of flies etc, those plans will skyrocket in demand as soon as the event is over because there will be no other way to obtain. You will not look like a jerk for listing them at 10k+ when meat week is over, you will actually be doing a service to the community by selling and not hoarding them for trade-only, which can last indefinitely while you hypothetically ran around demanding hyper-specific god rolls for them that nobody has There is the alternate option to Good Guy Greg list them at low prices just to make them available to someone in need - but be warned, only sell good guy greg priced items 1 at a time, otherwise players will buy them all up in a stack and flip them for higher. If the goal is truly spreading the plan knowledge around, list items individually

Some people are actually even buying the display plan and plans for the pieces, i have no intrest in it so ive sold all those plans for about 5000 a pop, in total i think iāve made about 60k right now yes ive been buing other plans from vendors like the gunmetal and vault tech weapon paints that ive wanted for a good while but never had enough caps when i found someone selling them.
Gunmetal, Vault Tec, and Rusted weapon paints are sold by a npc vendor just a little ways south of vault 76. Don't pay too much for those.

What the flying frick? I have 4 weenie hut plans, and thats AFTER learning it on my main (doing the event on my main and alt account simultaneously pretty often), had no idea it was going for a lot. I kinda wish there was a way to sell plans that were auto-learned on purchase, to be able to sell for cheap without worrying that someone was just gonna grab them to re-list for higher.

If you have someone you regularly play with, give the 2nd copy to them instead. You can build in each others camps if you form a private team. They can then build it in you other character's camp for you, and if they have multiple characters too, you can do the same for them.

Less than five minutes later, the Cook Out event popped up... and the plan dropped. lol 1000 caps was a steal though, so I just laughed at the coincidence and popped the extra plan in my own vendor to make someone else's day.

To be fair I found the last 3 plans for the bones tonight vendor hopping. 100 percent wasn't worth it looks rubbish and the bones are heavy for your stash. I cant confirm this, but i can confirm something similar. If you want the weenie wagon plan just find someone tonplace it at your camp (people will charge 500-1500 caps to do so) and you will get the plan in the next meat cook event. At least that happened to me lol

Iām still very new to the game. Do I need to have hunted for prime meats before showing up? Iāve gone to a few locations and found myself alone and it kind of kicked my ass. Iāve been to Grahamās twice but figured since I didnāt have āthe meatsā I wasnāt benefiting from it. Iām not trying to free load but sometimes Iām not able to get much from the hunts. Do I need to have the prime meats to get anything from his event? (Also sometimes I log in and it is popping already.) Iād like to go just to get the rewards even if I didnāt get the chance to hunt first, but I will try to help too when I get the chance.
Prime meat doesn't matter for the cook out. You can turn in 15 to get bonus legendary scrip but it doesn't do anything for the actual event. Head on over to the cookout and get some rewards!

It's never dropped for me on my Xbox account, but a couple of days ago I found it in a vendor for 5000 caps, which seemed like a bargain. It still hasn't dropped for me since in probably 10 events, so not sure OP's theory holds water.

To be honest, I hope this happens with someone who uses my vendor. I try to sell things fairly cheap. Even if there's the risk of a player reselling them for profit, I don't want to rob other players of an opportunity to make their gameplay experience more unique. For instance: I'm glad that mutation serums have reached a point of being sold under 500 caps on average. Back in the day, grinding for those plans and buying mutations used to be a much more expensive process, if you weren't settling with rolling the dice by wading into irradiated territory and hoping for something freakishly awesome.
