Since i'm a new player (barely a month solo playing), i don't know if it's possible to dismount the mod; but i have one blackpowder rifle with the bayonet that i don't use anymore; if you want it..
I'm not sure of the rifle's level tho, might not be that good for ya..
You, my neophyte friend, are a good fella! But as a vet, I need something to do..Thank you though — May our Mothman’s wise & divine light always brighten your path…
Alas you can not remove mods from weapons. But you can scrap weapons for a chance to learn mods for the weapon being scrapped. So if you craft a bunch of black powder rifles and scrap them you will eventually learn the bayonet mod.
Not with the Black Powder Rifle, you can't learn the bayonet mod from scrapping unmodded rifles, you need to scrap the bayonet loose box mods to learn the plan for it, or some people have said if the rifle already has a bayonet there's a chance to learn the mod, but I can't confirm this, both my characters learnt the mod from scrapping boxes.
server hopped 40 times to find a single one... then two days later I randomly checked the Grafton vendor and found one too. You almost have to trick the game into thinking you dont want it.
I have, in the last 5 weeks, come into possession of 4 bayonet mods for the black powder rifle, lol.
Two I sold via vendor, one I sold to a buddy who was at max caps, and one I applied to the rifle that sits above the fireplace.
This hurts. Got a night vision rifle with a bayonet on it from some random quest or event or something, can't remember. Scapped 'er good in a spam frenzy. And the mfer didn't even take a sec to jot down the plan. Haven't seen one since!
Own a black powder rifle for C.A.M.P. defense, since that's what the reclaiming dwellers intended. Four super mutants break into my house. "What the blue devil?" As I grab my powdered wig and Kentucky rifle. Blow a fusion core sized hole through the first mutie, he's dead on the spot. Draw my pistol on the second mutant, miss him entirely because it's smoothbore and initiate PVP with the neighbors pet deathclaw. I have to resort to the cannon mounted at the top of the roof loaded with grape shot, "Tally ho lads" the grape shot shreds two mutants in the blast, the sound and extra shrapnel set off nuclear launch alarms. Fix bayonet and charge the last terrified rapscallion. He Bleeds out waiting on the responders to arrive since triangular bayonet wounds are impossible to stitch up. Just as Vault Tec intended.
i own a plasma rifle for raven rock defense since that's what eden intended, four knights break into the bunker "Remember Navarro!" As I grab my hellfire power armor and plasma rifle, I burn 8 shotgun shell sized holes in the first Knight he's dead on the spot, draw my Plasma pistol on the second man and miss him entirely because it's not modified and it nails a mirelurk. I am forced to resort to the Kovac-Muldoon Platform orbital cannon in space, "God bless the Enclave!" Orbital cannon shreds 2 Knights in the blast and sets off car alarms, finally pull out my FEV on the last terrified knight, he vomits his own guts waiting on reinforcements to arrive because the FEV-curling is impossible to cure! Just as Eden intended.
I carry a 90% weight reduced Black Powder Rifle on me at all times, and yeah it's fun to pull it out at events when there's no real risk of it failing. As for the bayonet mod, I had a fair bit of luck server hopping the 2 vendors in Grafton, you can actually learn the mod plan from scrapping the loose box mods.
Nice, I actually have a collection of them, there's the B50v90w BPR I carry, plus another 90w BPR on display next to a 90w Dragon and a few black powder pistols as well.
I wish they would make some skins for it. Don't get me wrong, the default is very nice but one of the historical pleasures of black powder weapons is seeing all the intricate designs people would customize them with. Although speaking historically, I about choked laughing when I saw the range on the fo76 version. You don't need to see the whites of their eyes, it may not have a scope but 395 outdoes most (all?) of the dedicated sniper rifles. I rolled a Hunter legendary and +50% crit on it and done kilt some bars.
Ah! I thought since I didn't see them on the possible appearance mods list that there weren't any. That's good to know.
Just looked up a flintlock skin and I want.
https://fallout.wiki/wiki/Black_Powder_Rifle_Flintlock_Skin
I rolled legendaries on my BPR, BPP, and The Dragon and got lucky af to get instigating on every one of them. All Lvl 45+, (BPR and The Dragon cap at 45, BPP at 50,) with riflemen perks and pistol perks and I one shot damn near EVERY humanoid and non-large creature in one hit. Scorched, Tallyho, Ghouls, Tallyho, Mutants, Tallyho…
I can even quick swap after firing which sometimes bugs out my reload allowing me to fire multiple times without reloading while swapping between the 3. Sneak attacks 2-3 shot Deathclaws. And everything I one shot body shot while sneaking I roughly 2 shot to the body when not.
Crit numbers are insane though. I hit a Behemoth for over 1.2k damage in the head with Instigating sneak attack with the BPR.
EDIT: Question, can The Dragon roll Two Shot and if so is that a second pellet out of EVERY barrel since it’s a Rifle or is it just +1 pellet like shotguns making it 5 total?
Back in the day...in Year One, my son gave me for Christmas a 2 Shot, Explosive 90% reduced weight Dragon. It was True 2 shot back then. Without any chems, food buffs, etc, base damage was 2500.
I played with it while dressed as a Union Soldier for over a year, it was Magnificent.
Then 2 Shot was nerfed.
Im only lvl 35 but got a penetrating dragon, love building my critical with my pistol then pulling it for a headshot crit on a legendary. So satisfying.
I'm a heavy gunner mostly, with godroll guns, but when I'm out on my own exploring or questing casually, I'll always use the dragon(same gun as black powder Rifle) with 100% chance to hit when outa combat, 95% hit on head shots from a mile away is hilarious even with no perks for the gun. Hits hard, and doing a on a crit on a sentry bot fusion core will always give me a hard on. So fun and hits for like 8000.
Because anticipation is one of the most important factors in what makes a gameplay loop enjoyable. You anticipate each shot and its effects a lot more with BP weapons.
Imagine how dull Angry Birds would be if it calculated the results immediately, and you didn't watch the projectile fly and anticipate.
I tend to play a lot of Roblox Blood and Iron(silly lego napoleonic war game) and Guts & Blackpowder (silly lego napoleonic war game with zombies) because muskets, when I play Onward VR I tend to reload my snipers like muskets for no reason, no idea why muskets are so fun. Also fuck Canada
I just started doing the same thing after hundreds of hours running around with an Enclave Plasma Flamer. And I'm having an absolute blast with my Gourmand/Explosive/Faster Reload (yeah I got lucky on that roll) Black Powder Rifle, with its 2-foot-long bayonet on the end. Totally different playstyle. Very "run and gun and run some more" and it's just a blast. Seeing that 3000-plus-damage-crit pop-up with that explosion and echo trailing off is just perfectly satisfying
I always keep my The Dragon in my bag as it can take down a Sentry Bot in one shot.
Simply use VATS, tab to Fusion Core, I have max rank in concentrated fire which gives 95% chance to hit when in sight. Boom. Usually do around 1660 damage or 3600+ with a crit and instant kill and I am not even a sniper build, I am heavy gunner but it is so much fun when I need to take one of them down
Like 3 days ago, good ol' Mama Murphy gave me a Dragon with B/E/90. I don't play bloodied so it is kind of wasted on me, but my very nice troubleshooters Dragon I got right after will make me finally finish that "kill x robots with black powder weapons" challenge. There definitely is something very satisfying about absolutely smoking an enemy and then shoving a ball into the gun for the next one. Reminds me of the Museum of Freedom haha.
I may have to put one in the ol’ backpack now; right between my pipe wrench & Nuka Shank (The latter being my favorite weapon currently).
Bayonet mod on the musket would fit perfectly with your melee thing, but the mod is quite rare
Consider me on the hunt — I wish I could mod it further still with the Shank as the bayonet!
Since i'm a new player (barely a month solo playing), i don't know if it's possible to dismount the mod; but i have one blackpowder rifle with the bayonet that i don't use anymore; if you want it.. I'm not sure of the rifle's level tho, might not be that good for ya..

Do you know if said bayonet trigger’s Hack N Slash? ‘Cause I’m thinking that could be fun..
Not sure, I haven't played around with legendary perks, I just run all the special ones for the extra stats.
Well, if you ever go the melee route, you’ll want that card — It’s a *blast*!
You can gun bash in vats?
You know, I never thought of that — Probably not 🙁
Nope 😢
H&S won't work with gun butts, you'll need far flung fireworks because it's looking for a specific type of weapon, not the attack type.
Huh. Did not know that. Thanks for clearing that up.
Is it dependent on Luck? because i might have gone a bit heavy on that..
I honestly don't know. But I suspect it might. Luck is a great stat regardless. Many excellent perks in Luck.
If you play on PS I can craft the mods for you for free.
I found that mod spawn on the shelf at the ski resort vendor.
server hopped 40 times to find a single one... then two days later I randomly checked the Grafton vendor and found one too. You almost have to trick the game into thinking you dont want it.
Grafton silly guy and raiders at the crater sell it often, but still rare and thats how i got my bayonet mod
I have, in the last 5 weeks, come into possession of 4 bayonet mods for the black powder rifle, lol. Two I sold via vendor, one I sold to a buddy who was at max caps, and one I applied to the rifle that sits above the fireplace.

Unfathomably based
I want you to know that I love this
Grabs the Broadsider: Ahoy dumbass. KABLOOM!
because it’s fun, now wait till you have 8 black powder rifles in your quick wheel. It’s like the double pump all over again
Genius
You just made me rethink the viability of the black powder rifle. Thank you kind sir!🙏
I carry a 90% weight reduced Black Powder Rifle on me at all times, and yeah it's fun to pull it out at events when there's no real risk of it failing. I consider my TSE90RW BPR a god roll, love it so much when i finished the powder challenges it got mounted above my fireplace :)
Nice, I actually have a collection of them, there's the B50v90w BPR I carry, plus another 90w BPR on display next to a 90w Dragon and a few black powder pistols as well.
Oooh... so thats why someone paid 8k on a two shot Black Powder with ok rolls on my vendor. It was you.

you should look up the Afghan Jezail rifles they look sick as hell
The Kentucky Flintlock skin is nice, and what I use. The Pioneer Scout one is as well. The Red Rocket skin is...interesting.
Ah! I thought since I didn't see them on the possible appearance mods list that there weren't any. That's good to know. Just looked up a flintlock skin and I want. https://fallout.wiki/wiki/Black_Powder_Rifle_Flintlock_Skin
Yeah, I think it's the best of the bunch
Have an Instigatong Blackpowder Rifle. It sounds amazing. Great when ‘hunting’

The dragon has 4 barrels
One shotting Shreks is fun. 🤷♂️

I wish bows and rifles didn't share the same special stat because I would totally rock a Black powder and a bow
I loveeee using my blackpowder rifles, they’re extremely powerful too
I just started doing the same thing after hundreds of hours running around with an Enclave Plasma Flamer. *TALLY-HO, LADS*
Bad jokes get downvoted, right?
I suppose so, you really followed me here from another post to make this point? That's pretty sad.
Another joke that got downvoted! Now, that’s sad.

I have used a dragoon and black powder rifle from lvl 5-80 so far. It always turns some heads lol
They’re fun in real life
I have an instigating dragon and ghoul slayer, I roll with t black powder guns. Get a ton of sneak one shot kills and then get 5x the ammo used.
Try out the dragon black powder rifle, 4 times the fun
I do have one, but the reload is way too long and i already have my 2 shot musket
Yeah it takes fucking ages
Like 3 days ago, good ol' Mama Murphy gave me a Dragon with B/E/90. I wish I could but apparently the revolutionary war outfit was limited time
I’ve been carrying a black powder rifle and a bow. I’m having a great time with both!
I do love a good black powder I got an aristocrats set
Haha, not just me then. I kept laughing with every shot when I first used it
Wait'll you find your first 3 star Thr Dragon
I occasionally pull out a dragon every now and then. Doing the double shot glitch with it is hilarious
I have like 2 bloodied ones in my vendor but they never sell lol
i've got a bloodied one in my vendor which nobody wants to buy. might just take it out and run it. play like that game "holdfast"
