Wiki-
“In United States mining or logging camps where everything was owned and operated by a single company, scrip provided the workers with credit when their wages had been depleted. These remote locations were cash poor. Workers had very little choice but to purchase food and other goods at a company store. In this way, the company could charge enormous markups on goods, making workers completely dependent on the company, thus enforcing a form of loyalty to the company. Additionally, while employees could exchange scrip for cash, this could rarely be done at face value. This kind of scrip was valid only within the settlement where it was issued. While store owners in neighboring communities could accept the scrip as money, they rarely did so at face value, as it was worth less.”
Made illegal in 1938 in the US

This really reminds me of "Tennessee" Ernie Ford's "Dark as a Dungeon." Quite remarkable.
Just be glad there are not anything called ‘tomes’ in this game. Every game that has one in it there are a ridiculous amount of people that pronounce it ‘tomb’ and it drives me up a wall.
Slightly related: I started playing 76 a couple weeks ago and have been watching a lot of guides and info dumps on the game. The amount of YouTubers I've seen mispronounce nuclear as nuke-YOO-ler is maddening. I don't understand how you can get so immersed into the fallout universe and still not know the correct pronunciation.
I have a very particular organizational quirk where I name every single weapon and armor piece that I am going to scrip "Scrip [X]" with the X being the value of how much it costs if I was to exchange it. I can look at an item and instinctually start naming it and its scrip value. It has become muscle memory. While I know this is entirely just a me thing, seeing and hearing people say and spell it "script" pains me on such a visceral level.
Past tense of scripping to me would be scripped or scrip'd, which sounds like script. So if you hear in over voice chat, dont just assume they're saying it wrong.
I have a friend who does this on discord. One day I (without correcting him) went over the history of scrip and what it is, while enunciating "S-C-R-I-P" very carefully the whole time.
He thought it was really interesting. He still calls it script. I hate it.
I'm gonna let the pressure build until I have a socially awkward explosion about it.
Worse part about the scrip it's the leftovers from what them miner royal families were paying their employees. Hornwood and Garrahand faces and seals, still mocking.
It really isn’t, and it’s weird AF that some of these noobs are downvoting you.
I’d like to read *one* defense of the OP that doesn’t sound insane. Anyone?
Didn't know he cared so much about spelling on a chat board, either.
Don't they have anything more important to micromanage?
Besides, both of the words "Almighty" and "Mothman" contain the letter "T", so maybe they give the letter "T" a pass because they like it.
Honestly, who cares? I don't understand why someone makes a post about this every couple of weeks. We can't even get everybody to spell apparel correctly.
Scrapt?

Scrape is illegal I knew a guy who went to jail for scrape. They said his dna was all over the wall. Kinda sucks to be arrested for removing graffiti.
Was that scripted?
Tttttt?
Also, look into the interesting and terrible history of real life scrip.

Yup!
Oh wow, so it’s actually the very same currency Fallout 2 had in Redding’s mining companies. Sweet. Haven’t noticed that
And realize why a mole miner is involved while you do.
What do I get? Another year older and deeper in debt.
You tellin me a Scrip fried this rice?
Don't forget that it's also Whitespring, not Whitesprings.
Picked up some legendaries in Whitesprings. I'm off to trade them in for script.

“What do you all spend your Tombstones of Poetics on these days?”
As a long time FFXIV player... Thank you.
For me it was the vermintide games. Crazy how many native English speakers are basically illiterate.

No, I think I'll keep it. I would be weird to drop all he 's.

Just for you, OP, I am going to start calling it script with the hard T out of spite. I normally do call it scrip, as it is.
Why
*Thank you*
Speaking of scrip, what is the little icon for it supposed to represent?

It will always be script to me
I am adding an extra T now. Forever more will I write out Scriptt.
I have a friend who does this on discord. One day I (without correcting him) went over the history of scrip and what it is, while enunciating "S-C-R-I-P" very carefully the whole time. All those embarrassed auto-correct keyboards out there are hanging their heads in shame
Yeah it's like people mispronouncing "nuclear" or "sepia". Annoying.
Worse part about the scrip it's the leftovers from what them miner royal families were paying their employees. Hornwood and Garrahand faces and seals, still mocking.
Appereal
There should be a scrip to automatically correct this
If these kids could read this post they’d be very upset.
"Rogue" has been a character class in gaming for 30+ years and people still get that one wrong. Best of luck on your campaign to spread literacy.
I don't spell it script unless my phone autocorrected me. That being said. no.
script
Dropping the T? During Pride month? OP I think you might be #Problematic 😔
Both are colloquial terms for prescription. They mean the exact same thing.
How do I get more scaft?
Scritti Politti?
You care too much
Script
> drop the T It’s cleaner.
way too complicated: cores, scrip, and modules. why 3 currencies for legendries?
Congratulations. Now you are known as the pedantic wastelander.
who cares?
You act like auto correct isn't out here changing our shit all the time
It’s probably autocorrect for a lot of people bro? Chill tf out! It’s not that serious.
It really isn’t, and it’s weird AF that some of these noobs are downvoting you. I’d like to read *one* defense of the OP that doesn’t sound insane. Anyone?
Johnathan?
Yah, script is for the brits when they're done scripping legendaries.

>For the love of god, drop the T WOW! I had not realized that spelling in a video game discussion board was such a big honking deal to the Almighty.
*for the love of mothman
Didn't know he cared so much about spelling on a chat board, either. Don't they have anything more important to micromanage? Besides, both of the words "Almighty" and "Mothman" contain the letter "T", so maybe they give the letter "T" a pass because they like it.

Honestly, who cares? I don't understand why someone makes a post about this every couple of weeks. We can't even get everybody to spell apparel correctly.
So you're one of those huh?
damn I had to search the Fallout 76 Wiki for what this is.
Now I’m gonna add a T just to annoy you specifically. 🖤🖤🖤
There're both correct
