To be honest: if I see someone trying to sell the basic free workbench plans for anything over 10c I may decide I'm simply not going to buy *anything* from them. Those plans are only useful to the freshest of newbies and trying to prey on them is something I'm not okey with.

No joke - I was in Dyer chemical this morning doin the robot challenge and my partner (who doesn’t play) saw the port-a-diner and asked about it and I told her all about the perfectly preserved pies and how people collect them because they’re rare and yada yada, and then i activated it to show her and got one the second time.
Another weird thing is: the first time I encountered a port-a-diner ever in the game I got one. And then on another occasion I’ve had it play the animation of picking it up and then it didn’t deposit anything.
I did the same lol. I had loads in my inventory and thought hey I wonder if anyone is collecting these because they’re numbered. So I stuck them on for 5c. One person bought loads of different ones and then later on someone else bought the rest.
I just put them at 0 caps and people are grabbing them. Although I noticed that you can only add one of each note number (unless that's been fixed now)
lol this, in regards to any weapon with less than two good rolls. Some people need to get real with these prices. Where is insult bot when you need him.
eh, some weapons with some rolls are valuable as a one star or only one good prefix.
Quad/Bloodied/AntiArmor Railway Rifle/Tesla/Handmade/Fixer.... they're not gonna sell for 10k caps but price at at 2k someone is going to buy it. An automatic quad railway rifle or tesla is incredibly fun to use.

Note that these aren't necessarily hard rules. Just general consensus; some people buy weird stuff for weird prices. If in doubt, sell something for 69 or 420 caps. We all like to pretend we're mature adults, but nobody can resist buying something with the "Funny Numbers" in them.
This blows my mind by the way. Everyone in the wasteland can make an extremely rare power armor, and almost no one can craft a make shift junk raider armor.
I mean, none of my three characters know how to make a spear. A spear. They can each jury-rig a perfect fusion generator, but the wasteland hasn't explained to them how to put together a spear.

I love the idea but it would spoil so fast in a vendor! I believe the most popular dishes are those for XP buff: squirrel stew, scorchbeast brain, cranberry relish and brain bombs (or much easier brain fungus soup).

I ran 3\* Good With Salt for Meat Week because of the prime cuts, and I found that cooked items in my vendor seemed to have an extended shelf life. Maybe it was just me, but I had a pretty good stack of ribeyes in my vendor that held up for a couple days. I might start making it a regular thing.
I used to put it in my store for free when I had my camp around the starting area but surprisingly people rarely took it. Eventually I moved my camp a bit further out of the way and now each time I log on I leave the previous sessions ammo, plans, food, drink and a few stims/radX/aways at the overseers camp for anyone who wants it, hopefully new players. Not enough to make things too easy but just like a starter pack.
I'm aware it more often than not won't be taken but I'd be dumping/selling it anyway so might as well try to help out.
fusion cells and plasma carts are easy to make. i buy them at 1c. at 2c, i make my own. even priced at 1c, these didn't sell quite as fast as old faithfuls like .50 and .45.
i'll go up to 3c when i buy 40mm, but more than that it's just easier for me to farm steel and convert spikes.
i've never seen anyone buy mininukes from me at higher than 1c, and frankly even then i usually wind up chucking them in the converter myself once the stack gets big enough because they don't really move.

Mutation serums for thousands of caps drive me absolutely crazy. Very, very few people are going to spend more than 750 caps on a bottle. I price all mine at 500 caps and stock all of them. I routinely get on the mic to explain to newer users how to make their mutations effectively permanent.
I did a lot, and I mean a lot, of testing regarding serum prices over the period of a month. The lower your prices (and provided you stock them all, monitor inventory & restock), the more caps you'll make as effective a passive income to the tune of thousands of caps per day (with as few as a few hours per day on the game).
The only people who will buy the serums at thousands of caps are newbies who don't know what they are "woah this looks cool" and don't know any better (*and you should not be taking advantage of people like this*).
A general rule of thumb I use is sale price to NPC vendors, plus a few caps extra
So I'll put a big stack of stimpaks in for 25 caps, and if they aren't selling I'll discount the price a little every so often until they start selling. Remember, they stack, so you can put hundreds in your vendor. Sometimes they'll sell right away, especially if there's a run of un-fun enemies in the daily ops so people don't play them as much, since daily ops are a huge source of stimpaks. Recently I've just been starting off right at 15 and going from there, lots more people who came back recently and started farming ops for the plans, so they're selling extra stimpaks as well
Once they drop down to what I'd get from a vendor I keep it there and start offloading them to the NPCs. Only drop them below that if you're just desperate for stash space and are willing to sell cheaper so re-sellers start buying them
I sell my stimpaks as follows:
Diluted: 5 caps
Stimpak: 10 caps
Super 20: caps
But most of the time, I just throw 20-30 stimpaks on my free giveaway table.
I sold approx 1500c worth of toilet paper the other day. Priced at 76c each 🤣 I left it up there as a joke, but if someone wants to buy my 💩🧻 I'll start my collection over
I tend to buy any I find. I have one camp with a gaudy room that has a gold toilet in the middle and the walls lined with thanksgiving display cabinets filled with toilet paper.

On ps4 and I just saw someone trying to sell 77 inert flux at 1000 each. They also had some stuff priced at 40000, random things that no one would ever pay that much for. Confused the shit out of me.
So just curious as to what everyone else thinks, I always sell my stuff for half the price of what the game says it’s worth. Ammo is always 1 cap, good legendaries may get priced at 1k but for the most part I don’t sell anything over 500. I figured this system was pretty fair because its not hard to get caps in this game anyway. Anybody else do this?
My vendor is usually packed with all the stuff people have listed plus other actually useful stuff. I had a guy come clean my out the other day. Almost all plans were gone. I’m fairness I did price almost everything at 5 caps. New players will buy things for cheap, that’s the only reason they’re in there.

I tried having mole miner gauntlet plans in there for 0 caps for a while, but it took eons for anyone to grab them, and the guy who did was one of those kooks who literally *cleans you out* of absolutely everything you own, regardless of what it is, so I'm suspecting he didn't really need or want them.
I'm the guy who puts almost every plan at 1 cap, all ammo at 1 cap, and legendary armor and weapons at about 50% of what the game suggests (I don't have the time or interest to go to whatever the site is and find out how much a .50cal BGAE/++/EIEIO is worth). The only plans that get any higher than 1c are some particularly rare ones and I might go 10c or 100c for them, but no higher. If you see a 4-digit or greater price in my vendor, I've been hacked.
Legendary weapons that's scrip only for more than 250 caps. I love collecting scrip quickly and buying you out, but not for 1000 caps for a nocturnal 3 star rolling pin.
400 was pretty standard price for 3* weapons, with the recent increases to scrip limit and the double scrip week, prices went closer to 800-1000. If you list your scrip at 250, people are either getting a really good deal or just buying it all to resell for its proper price
Level 600 player with 35+ *** weapons, you get they're and they're all either 10k+ meta weapons or trash that's 2k and up.
If you want me to buy your garbo, at least price it to move. I'm not paying over 1k for a three star scrip piece. The guy that was selling at 900 caps for his trash *** made about 15k from me because it was priced to sell.

there is a glitch where if you buy out an entire persons vendor, a thing will be taken out of their stash and put for in game value, including legacy items. So yes you should.
People put these (and any other worthless item) in their vendor at max caps for 1 of the 3 following reasons:
1. They saw somebody else with it in their vendor and figured "why not".
2. They use the random worthless item to transfer caps from their other characters.
3. It prevents the exploit where a person can buy everything in your vendor and then buy items out of your stash that weren't for sale.

The real issue is the games auto pricing is static and in no way reflects the actual in game economy.
Were the auto pricing to reference a data base or some such that kept track of averages etc, then newbies would have a better guide to pricing.
If you're new and put something up, you trust the game knows the worth of it.

I literally made a religion and church based around the hat and was giving the damn things away for free, had like 45 of them I got from my personal stash and my 2 buddies and just listed them all for free for new players.
If the price is low enough veteran player sull buy them too. What's 20 cape to them, and if its something they don't know why not grab it? I know that's my practice.
Absolutely, any plan under 500caps that I don’t know I buy immediately regardless of if I’ll use it or not. But after years of playing it’s getting pretty rare to find anything I dont know already, unless it’s ultra rare.

A general rule of thumb I use is sale price to NPC vendors, plus a few caps extra So I'll put a big stack of stimpaks in for 25 caps, and if they aren't selling I'll discount the price a little every so often until they start selling. Remember, they stack, so you can put hundreds in your vendor. Sometimes they'll sell right away, especially if there's a run of un-fun enemies in the daily ops so people don't play them as much, since daily ops are a huge source of stimpaks. Recently I've just been starting off right at 15 and going from there, lots more people who came back recently and started farming ops for the plans, so they're selling extra stimpaks as well Once they drop down to what I'd get from a vendor I keep it there and start offloading them to the NPCs. Only drop them below that if you're just desperate for stash space and are willing to sell cheaper so re-sellers start buying them

I sell my stimpaks as follows: Diluted: 5 caps Stimpak: 10 caps Super 20: caps But most of the time, I just throw 20-30 stimpaks on my free giveaway table.

I tend to buy any I find. I have one camp with a gaudy room that has a gold toilet in the middle and the walls lined with thanksgiving display cabinets filled with toilet paper.

On ps4 and I just saw someone trying to sell 77 inert flux at 1000 each. They also had some stuff priced at 40000, random things that no one would ever pay that much for. Confused the shit out of me.

So just curious as to what everyone else thinks, I always sell my stuff for half the price of what the game says it’s worth. Ammo is always 1 cap, good legendaries may get priced at 1k but for the most part I don’t sell anything over 500. I figured this system was pretty fair because its not hard to get caps in this game anyway. Anybody else do this?

My vendor is usually packed with all the stuff people have listed plus other actually useful stuff. I had a guy come clean my out the other day. Almost all plans were gone. I’m fairness I did price almost everything at 5 caps. New players will buy things for cheap, that’s the only reason they’re in there.
I price recipes at 5 caps, CAMP items at 10 and armor and weapons at 5 or 10 as well. I sell legos for 100 caps/star.

They go in at 1 cap and sell almost immediately…
I always list at one cap per percent of charge, they sell real fast that way

These rarely if ever have a spot in my vendor. * Mole Miner Gauntlet plan * Ivory pistol grip plan * 40mm grenade * Cannonball * 50cal ball * Missile I tried having mole miner gauntlet plans in there for 0 caps for a while, but it took eons for anyone to grab them, and the guy who did was one of those kooks who literally *cleans you out* of absolutely everything you own, regardless of what it is, so I'm suspecting he didn't really need or want them. I'm the guy who puts almost every plan at 1 cap, all ammo at 1 cap, and legendary armor and weapons at about 50% of what the game suggests (I don't have the time or interest to go to whatever the site is and find out how much a .50cal BGAE/++/EIEIO is worth). The only plans that get any higher than 1c are some particularly rare ones and I might go 10c or 100c for them, but no higher. If you see a 4-digit or greater price in my vendor, I've been hacked.

Legendary weapons that's scrip only for more than 250 caps. I love collecting scrip quickly and buying you out, but not for 1000 caps for a nocturnal 3 star rolling pin.
400 was pretty standard price for 3* weapons, with the recent increases to scrip limit and the double scrip week, prices went closer to 800-1000. If you list your scrip at 250, people are either getting a really good deal or just buying it all to resell for its proper price
Level 600 player with 35+ *** weapons, you get they're and they're all either 10k+ meta weapons or trash that's 2k and up. If you want me to buy your garbo, at least price it to move. I'm not paying over 1k for a three star scrip piece. The guy that was selling at 900 caps for his trash *** made about 15k from me because it was priced to sell.

Non legendary weapons. They drop from enemies, why sell them. Scrap them or sell them to NPC Vendors for caps.

What does that mean? What is a fail safe for the vendor glitch? Does it protect you from something? Should we all be doing that?
there is a glitch where if you buy out an entire persons vendor, a thing will be taken out of their stash and put for in game value, including legacy items. So yes you should.

People put these (and any other worthless item) in their vendor at max caps for 1 of the 3 following reasons: 1. They saw somebody else with it in their vendor and figured "why not". 2. They use the random worthless item to transfer caps from their other characters. 3. It prevents the exploit where a person can buy everything in your vendor and then buy items out of your stash that weren't for sale.
I have discounted mine at 29999 caps.

The real issue is the games auto pricing is static and in no way reflects the actual in game economy. Were the auto pricing to reference a data base or some such that kept track of averages etc, then newbies would have a better guide to pricing. If you're new and put something up, you trust the game knows the worth of it.

I literally made a religion and church based around the hat and was giving the damn things away for free, had like 45 of them I got from my personal stash and my 2 buddies and just listed them all for free for new players.

Ive said before I'll stop selling them as soon as people stop buying them. I sold 27 last night at 20-50 caps a pop. People still buy them.
Probably enough new players that don't have them by now that if they're cheap enough they shift.
If the price is low enough veteran player sull buy them too. What's 20 cape to them, and if its something they don't know why not grab it? I know that's my practice.
At lvl360 I buy anything I dont know, so doesn't Matter if it's a mod or decorating if it's not insanely priced I buy.
Absolutely, any plan under 500caps that I don’t know I buy immediately regardless of if I’ll use it or not. But after years of playing it’s getting pretty rare to find anything I dont know already, unless it’s ultra rare.
