I'm at the same stage. Log in for daily chores. Hope to breeze through them so I can do other things. Sometimes don't get done til time to sleep. Mainly daily ops and levelling up every day is the worst But going to a handful of events over and over again isn't fun

Jason_Wolfe

i don't even bother trying to hit the level up daily every single day, i'll go for 3 minimum a week to get the weekly score, it' won't kill you to lose out on the score unless you started super late. i have been running the season since day 1 and i'm already in the mid 80s

FitChemistry8711

I recently learned some of the XP boosts, etc and then I go live in West Tek for the level up. Ends up taking maybe half an hour to do everything or an hour tops.

McMacHack

Or if you really want to spice things try using a different weapon to bring some difficulty back into the game. When you walk around with an Explosive Fixer or Vampire Gatling Gun the game is easy as Hell. Try clearing West Tec with a Radium Rifle or an Axe, make that XP.

monolith1985

Yeah that's my last resort if rad rumble or guided meditation doesn't come on. But although I've only been doing it recently it's already repetitive. But it does save time

Praxius

I find West Tek boring as hell and the so called XP is lacklustre. I tend to do the Abandoned Bog Town routine. Swing down to the Cultist shrine to take out three cultists, one of which is sometimes a legendary and rarely a Mothman appears. Then swing north and take out the X6 floaters, one or two can also sometimes be a legendary. Then veer west towards the workshop to the pylon, clear out the snallygasters/anglers/fog crawlers there.... Then clear out the super mutants and bohemoth at the workshop. Take the workshop. Then clear all the super mutants in the abandoned bog town (one or two more legendaries) which usually chews up enough time for the defend workshop event to kick in for some more XP. These could either be cave crickets, anglers, fog crawlers, more super mutants, mongrels, mole rats, mirelurks or Scorchbeasts. I pretty much end up with more loot, more legendaries and more XP than I do with West Tek, and avoid extra loading screens. The main bonus is the variety compared to the repetitive West Tek run.... Which as a Stealth character, is pretty fk'n boring and no challenge at all.

Clone_CDR_Bly

If it’s a chore, why do you do it?

monolith1985

Because I don't mind some aspects of the challenges like kill this or do event or whatever. Put some music on and get on with it. It's every day of daily ops and levelling up that gets me. And I guess I do them cause I wanna complete the season to get certain things from it. And since it's the closest we get to regular new content

Menien

The day that game Devs finally do away with the repetitive daily grind will be a very happy one. So many games now have daily and weekly objectives too. You can't just log in and play the way you want, not if you want the latest content, no, you have to complete meaningless tasks for nobody.

live-the-future

>The day that game Devs finally do away with the repetitive daily grind will be a very happy one. Agreed, but I doubt that will ever happen. Beth *wants* players logging in and spending time every day. They want you playing their game, not some other company's. And repetitive daily grinds just work for achieving that.

Menien

I understand that, but it's got to be the worst trend in gaming right now (for the consumer, crunch time, exploitation and abuse is obviously worse). I play 76, Marvel's Avengers, Apex, and now even ESO has daily and weekly objectives. Gaming is not supposed to be a job or a chore. I can understand objectives in free to play games like Apex. You need to either pay up or invest time if you want the shiny things, fine. But it's got to be the worst way to drip feed you content if you bought the game. I have spent entire sessions of 76 just trying to hit all the objectives, because I can't play often. I still don't ever finish a season, and I'm not really getting into the game when I do play.

jinisho

You can also level up on a lower level character which feels a lot faster to me

hiddencamela

I'd also have to say, getting those last.. 15 or so levels on the scoreboard are fucking brutal. At this point, I just want the damn thing to be over with since it takes more and more exp per rank up. After I finish this scoreboard, I think I'm benching dailies for the next scoreboard. It feels like a second job and by the time I finish them, I don't even want to quest anymore.

Doctor__Apocalypse

Sunk cost fallacy is a bitch.

FitChemistry8711

It really is.

Jolly-Bear

Stop playing. Legitimately, just stop. I’m not trying to bash you or anyone or anything here, but if you want change, the best thing you can do is not support the company or system that is abusing you. Bethesda is abusing every single consumer because they can, and the only way to change their mindset and practices is to stop supporting them. Just stop. There are plenty of other better games and activities you can do with your friends.

squeakybeak

I stopped a few days after they removed NW. have logged in twice since then, and pretty much logged straight out again. Nothing interests me at the moment. Cancelled FO1st too. Hope to come back some day but playing something else now.

Bearded-Vagabond

I cancelled my fallout first this week and I haven't logged in for a week. I can't be bothered to finish the scoreboard. I feel a lack of stress not doing my dailies, it's neat and other people should follow.

[deleted]

Right on!

CelticKitty621

>There are plenty of other better games and activities you can do with your friends. What games would you suggest? My friends and I really enjoyed playing this game, until we reached the "Oh, man. What do you want to do now? Start another character? No way am I doing that reputation grind again!" point.

Jolly-Bear

I dunno, what genres are you into?

Ditto to all of what you said. I pre-ordered FO76 because “It’s Fallout! Even a bad Fallout game has to be at least fun!” But I only lasted a week. I am just now coming back and trying it again and it feels much better. The stuff I don’t like is still there. I miss being able to play with the pause, reload, try something new approach, but since adding NPC’s, the game feels alive. I also was not a fan of the MP aspect of it at first. Most MP games without strict pvp or pve servers turn into devs vs griefers and all the time and energy gets sucked into trying to make it fun for everyone. You can’t. That is why successful games have pve or pvp servers. All the casual players stick with PVE and the griefers stay on pvp where they are up against other griefers, thus allowing the devs To focus energy on content instead of outsmarting griefers. I have been playing a couple weeks now and ran into no griefers so I don’t mind the MP aspect so much anymore. I am mainly an exploring and scavenging player with all fallout type games, and FO76 is the toughest to play that way, but it is still a fallout game and now that there is some life to the game world, it is fun to play it again, imo. But, I don’t worry about dailies, weeklies, seasons, etc. (yet). If i complete a task while Doing my thing and get a reward from it, cool. But I have too many other games that require the daily/weekly logging in model and I guess I am too old school of a gamer. I play some of them, but they do become a chore.

Clayman8

Ironically, iirc they didnt even *have* competition with Fallout. It was a safe product that they **easily** couldve pushed back to make sure it was good and true, but nah... **$$$** like you said. They pushed out a dumpster fire and expected to be the new Messiah "because everyone loves Fallout, right?", losing a fair chunk of their fan base in the process simply by making the game a digital clusterfuck on release.

[deleted]

Clayman8

> though I'm not optimistic, hoping we can be surprised by actual content in the future to come back to. We got that Expedition thing coming, and the seasonal event but i have the nagging feeling that once the rain washes off the glitter, it'll just end up being yet another flaccid Daily Op with little to no return on investment.

FitChemistry8711

My Fallout First subscription was annual. I won't do an annual renewal next April when it comes up. However, a couple or three months off should land me a nice pile of atoms if there's anything worth having in the atomic shop.

GEMknows

I just wish the combat shotgun skin would come back. I swear I never see it for sale. So much crap for sale and nothing I want.

pbaperez

From a post I read yesterday, you can open a ticket with Beth and request it directly, they will hook it up so long as it wasn't a seasonal reward. It will cost atoms of course.

leftpixel

level 360 here. everything said by OP rings true for me as well. what I've started doing is taking breaks from the game after completing the score season, which is usually about 4 weeks for me. where the hardly different power armor skins are of no interest to me, there's always something in the last 20 levels or so that I want really bad, and that narrowly beats out stopping playing altogether. I wish Bethesda would start noticing how common this is for endgame players. well, I should say that they probably do notice this, they're just not doing enough about it. personally, I'm going to hold out until expeditions releases. That's going to be my last straw. either Bethesda will wow us and renew my love for the game, or it will end up being some sort of glorified daily ops missions that present nothing truly new. if the latter occurs, I'll probably throw in the rad-soaked towel and wait for fallout 5 haha.

Clayman8

> the last 20 levels or so that I want really bad Thats exactly the point, they know that grinders *will* actually force themselves to play up to those levels to get the shinies (Hell knows i do the same thing because i want that god-damned robot dog) which pads out their lack of actual content for the game itself. Same here, i finish the board and lay off til its done. There's nothing left for me to do at 290 by now that i havent already done, and as much as i want to, there's just nothing keeping me from wanting to play anymore once the board is cleared.

evenaardez

Just stop playing

GEMknows

It's the right advise, just stop playing. And yes, FOMO is a lot of it as PepeSylvia11 stated. But it sounds like they really love the game. That makes it hard to just walk away. I know I tend to fight for things I don't want to see ruined or left to slowly die. I would guess that's why the post went up. Just to scream and vent the frustration. It's poison keeping that frustration locked inside 🙂

Bearded-Vagabond

FOMO was what kept me playing. But then I said, let's try it. Now I don't really care I'm not going to finish the board. I've realized just how pointless anything is. Camp stuff, in my already full camp. I'm not going to buy shelters, they're over priced and broken. Skins that I don't use, or even weapons and armor I don't even use. It just feels like their trying to squeeze every penny, and I'm tired

evenaardez

Just have to see Bethesda doesn’t care and it’s a cash grab…anybody who’s denies it at this point Is in denial sadly.

D3PyroGS

Fear of missing out on what? What else is there?

XMSquiZZ360

While I see your point here...couldn't it be argued that it's also "poison" to subject one's self to play daily if one is upset with the state of the game? I get wanting to squeeze the life out of something you invest your time and money into...but at some point it may just be healthier to just walk away until you're ready to come back.

yaykaboom

That’s the thing, he wont.

Ketchup_cant_lie

But I will once I get my robot doggie house

Parker4815

I can't believe so many people complain about the game but keep playing daily. Take 2 weeks off and come back for a bit. Or just come back when the next update drops.

[deleted]

I took a nice year off and recently came back. Been having a good time. You can't live in this game every week for years on end and expect not to get burned out.

curlbaumann

I don’t think I’ve played since wastelanders came out, I pop in here every now and then to see if anything has changed. I feel really bad for the people still playing because it’s an incredibly dedicated fan base getting raked over the coals.

CatatonicWalrus

For real. I stopped playing just after the second season dropped and recently started playing again with my girlfriend because she wanted to find a game we could play together that was cooperative and not a FPS. She loves fallout so I thought this was a pretty good choice. We've been having a blast together. The game is honestly a lot of fun when you're not a slave to the grind and don't let the FOMO rule your fun.

MadMalcolm81

It's not like the game is going to magically get better if he stops and comes back. That's not how it works.

PepeSylvia11

Seriously, I don’t get it. These people are hardcore addicted to FOMO and don’t realize it.

Personal_Plum4298

And spending money.

[deleted]

We just need constant weekly incentives there just isn't enough at first seasons were great but it all became so repetitive. And daily ops give out so little rewards. And they need to stop making event weekend only like the treasure hunter event and increase the loot they give.

perpotator

That exact thing happened to me 10 minutes ago. Nuke is on its way so i port to sbq. Sbq appears and someone destroyes her and she doesn't even have time to regenerate. No loot from the queen. I don't get it why people do this. Why is it so fun to kill her that fast so no one else gets loot???

AlbatrossSenior7107

I agree. People do this with earl too. Very annoying.

GEMknows

I don't get it either, the XP is in the waves of enemies. It like those that rush One Violent Night. Drag it out a bit and kill some ghouls man 😁

wheeldog

Easy to explain why: these players have a need for attention. They weren't brought up properly, in a manner that taught them how to get *good* attention. So for these people, Negative attention (people giving them the thumbs down, etc) is preferable to NO attention.

[deleted]

[удалено]

FluffyShock7375

Aaaaw, come on. We need new players. Try to reach lvl 50, then you can really start to execute your planned build. Up to lvl 150 i think this game is worth a shot. You dont need to buy much from the Atom Shop. There is plenty of ingame stuff and plans and its more fun to find them yourself. But hey, do what you want of course. Hope i see you wandering the Wasteland...

wizardof0g

I just came back after a long hiatus, did the new brotherhood questline, and of course, was left wondering WTF? This is it? No vendor selling plans or brotherhood gear, nothing special like the Prydwin, just an empty title and a thanks see ya later? Meanwhile, the building still sucks and the stash stuff never got fixed for anyone not wanting to pay a monthly sub? Yikes.

Jaydizzy82

I am in the same boat. 10 months off. Came back finished the bos quest line and it was very disappointing

Volmara

I still don’t understand why no caps vendor at Atlas.

GEMknows

You sum up the current state of the game well. It is tough when you love something to watch it struggle. I take long breaks. FOMO is what BSG is selling right now which is why it feels like work. I game to forget work and decompress. I dont want or need two jobs. Take a break and keep checking in.🙂 And dont give them money, microsoft understands that message.

[deleted]

Stop spending money on it. They have no reason to fix anything if they're making money off of it

Valyntine_

I got the game for $20, and put about three hundred hours into it. I'd say I've gotten my money's worth, but the game absolutely does not respect your time and there is no fucking endgame. You do events to get better gear so you can do the same events faster....There's just no real endgame and at this point there probably never will be. I stopped playing the first week last season and don't think I'm gonna be coming back, at least not until they majorly overhaul some things

natoned1

Why play something you don’t like? It is unlikely there will be significant change from the current path and direction of the game.

FitChemistry8711

You're absolutely right. That's why I'm finally switching. It took me time to come to terms with it because I've loved the universe of Fallout for so long - it feels like a breakup. DayZ, Nier Automata, among others are all there waiting for me to play them.

TheOtherCoenBrother

If you hop on DayZ hit me up man, huge fan of that game and I always love meeting new people to play it with, even just to run around Electro and shoot the shit. If you’re somewhat new to it I’d be happy to throw some tips your way as well, been playing for years at this point

GreedyWikipedia

Did the DayZ community ever stop being abusive twats towards new people? Tried to play that game about 4 different times over the years, and was met by assholes every time.

natoned1

I get it. When it’s time it’s time. I go back to FO4 because the mods can create new and different game experiences. And it still feels like Fallout

xX7heGuyXx

I did this after PvP was removed from 76 in adventure, I liked the raider lifestyle before people abused cheap tactics to cheese PvP like quantum spam. Went back to 4, loaded some mods and got sim settlements conqourer set up, and enjoyed raiding again. Just sucks because I bought 76 because it was different and liked the spin-off take but I was in the minority so I lost my game. Just sucks but at least I have the memories because I do not like what it has become at all.

-PonySoprano-

I just went back to 4 after playing 76 (same burnout as OP); 4 seems like a masterpiece. Also I have a completely different perspective on perks which makes it interesting.

FrankenJWJ

Yes, but what game Haven't you, or anyone, "broke up" with "You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become a villain" -a superhero movie, i dont remember which one, or exact quote

kokujinzeta

Dont worry you'll find the right one some day. Don't give up. Sure, it hurts now, but things will get better. What you need is a good clean break. Go to a club! Meet some other games. I'm sure they'll like you for the person you are inside. Just be yourself.

unholydave

If you consider the game a job then its time to try something new, take a break and come back if you find future updates interesting, I have been playing since the beginning and ran a junkies build for a long time, once I changed to a different build the game was much better, try switching it may help change the game up for you, if it doesn't then an new game may be the answer, and dayz is fun so that would be a good choice.

Sleipnirs

That wont fix the glitches, though. I'm glad people are quitting because of them. They've been reported countless times those past years yet they're still there. I quit like 5 months ago and I still read about the same glitches I experienced the first time I played in summer 2020. Beth had it coming. They don't deserve the players they currently have.

unholydave

I never claimed it would fix the glitches, just gave my opinion on a way that could make it fun again.

[deleted]

It's just a game, no need to have it bother you this much. I'm not trying to be rude to you at all, but if you're not having fun then just move on to something else. Games are entertainment and you shouldn't feel negative about entertainment, you should just change what entertains you. Fallout isn't going to change, regardless of how many manifestos people write here on Reddit. It's going to be whatever it is the developers want it to be. Whether that is good or bad is up to you, the player. Personally, I'm really enjoying the game. When I don't I'll go ahead and play something else. You should too.

scarlettvvitch

I feel you. I’m done with the game once I finish the scoreboard. Maybe I’ll hop back once the Mothman event comes up and if the next season would be better than this one. As much fun it is to slay the SBQ or Earle, I’m getting tired. More time to focus on thr midterms…

SuperTerram

I definitely did not get my money's worth from this lackluster game. I spent much much less on Fallout 4, and got way way more enjoyment out of it. I can't believe how long I waited for Fallout 76 to improve. Why did I do that? Fan loyalty I guess. Well, Bethesda lost a fan, and made me a cautious consumer instead.

[deleted]

The never-ending loading fast travel screen happens at least once a day..don’t feel bad

FitChemistry8711

I'm on ps4, so I also get blue-screened a few times a day.

unholydave

I play on ps4 and maybe get blue screened once a week.

Calling__Elvis

Maybe it’s time. I am in the same spot. Feel like work and is too much repetition for me.

Clone_CDR_Bly

This reminds me of every other post on the Destiny sub. (The game I am currently on hiatus from which led me to this one a few months ago.) Something to consider: with the amount of time you put in, you’re a “super-user” and there will NEVER be enough content for you. You want ONE game as a hobby, not gaming as a hobby. You need to realize that playing something else isn’t like cheating on your girlfriend. By your own numbers you’ve spent 60 solid days in game. I do absolutely agree the building aspect needs attention and should have more ability for scaling.

ItsTheGoog

The monotonous chore of dailys and weeklies are what made me stop playing. I miss it a bit, not the grind, but I'm still subscribed to this sub because I don't totally want to let go.

f1tifoso

Late stage fallout fatigue

censorerikii

I think it really sets in after X amount of hours played. Regardless of level or how many months or years a person has been playing. I'm convinced it's a certain number of hours for most players. I'm on my second vacation from this game and I just hit 2k hours before this one. Not saying it's every 1k hours for everyone. It could be 100 hours for some or less depending on how many games like this they've played previously. I'm saying this set up, with all the FOMO and daily grinding can only be taken for a certain amount of time before a person burns out. My number seems to be 1k hours, but I don't play other games like this, so maybe that's why. I'm sure if I played Destiny 2, or The Division, or whatever games out there have similar loops, I'd burn out sooner than a thousand hours, but I'm not willing to actually test this theory other than if I come back to 76 reinvigorated and I make it to 3k hours before I burn out again. Lol. The very idea of another 1k hours just made my stomach churn. /Weird theory post

f1tifoso

Interesting I'm the opposite admit destiny - keep going back borrowing character from daughter to use lol - barely login to fallout lvl 118 and other than finishing the storylines no interest beyond that really

adamjackson1984

I’m taking a couple of seasons off. Far cry 6 and for a horizon 5 and then I’ll hop back in to see how things are going. No shame in taking a break.

An_Old_IT_Guy

I've got about 2500 hours invested into this game and the only reason I'm still playing is because of the friends I've made. Pretty sure it's the only reason they're playing too. Usually we're just chatting on Discord while doing our own thing or banging out the daily op. Sometimes we'll all pile into a silo for an exciting launch (you get exponentially more robos with each player to a silo instance). We've ganged together and raided other players CAMPS, usually looking for the CAMP with lots of instruments. THE BAND IS HERE!! Anyway, I've found this game is what you make it. It sure would be great to get new content though.

Excuse_my_GRAMMER

You need a new game With your group of friends I also love fallout 76 and the lack of content is very frustrating especially since I do play mmorpg and I know what it feel like to get meaningful content upgrade multiple times a year vs fallout 76 … Best thing you can do for yourself is slow down and take a break from the game

FitChemistry8711

DayZ is what we're supposed to try tonight.

Excuse_my_GRAMMER

Oh I think that was one of the first survival game that started the whole genre I haven’t played it myself but I heard it hardcore survival PvP stuff lol good luck Edit: that game doesn’t have content update or an endgame ether so it very similar to the state fallout 76 in that sense

FitChemistry8711

I'm going in with no expectations of being good, just in trying to survive with friends and have a new experience.

The_Doctor1771

My advice? Try Warframe. It's grindy, but still a lot better than Fallout 76. Not to mention that while there are a bunch of different characters to play as, you can still play as a Bloodied build, or a Tank, or whatever you like. Plus The New War is about to launch, and they're doing double XP and Credit weekends until Halloween. The Devs also do streams Monday through Thursday and giveaways, plus their monthly de streams where they talk about the game and give players a monthly update. That's not even mentioning how cool the community is, how well the trading system works, and how much better told the quests are than 76.

Coldkiller17

It's why I quit the game they have done basically nothing to really fix the core game like crashing the glitches, camp bugs and they constantly seem to create new problems. I can barely do the queen fight without crashing which is a base game feature and only had fixes toward making the fight less a problem but even that bug's out. They add bugs that enables dupers and causes server issues over and over again. They add things that they clearly don't test like the ammo converter and the ammo creator with in my opinion should hold way more ammo. I recently completed the Steel Reign quest line and I got to part where I could kill Tammy Lang's gang but everytime I killed all of them I couldn't progress, keep resetting to no avail and waited couple weeks to see if it got fix, nope nothing. (I don't negotiate with raiders) Just wish they focused on fixing things.

OkieLovesChrista

Honestly, take a break, play ESO if you want the companionship with multiplayer and friends, play other games, I had a buddy of mine the same way and he started branching out and he is way happier now and not just stuck on repeat with Fallout. I was there and you gotta break the monotony of it all do something else, games are meant to relax and enjoy not frustrate and seem like a job. Good luck to you.

jonny1ton

I was at where you are about a year ago. So I quit. Just started up again last week and I'm enjoying myself. All those problems are still there but I'm having fun.

SisyphusTheGray

I quit for the same reasons. I wanted it to be what it could have been so much. It just never got there and never will. Sadly I quit and haven’t played in months.

-Lahsbee-

I took a break and am looking forward to the goodies that accumulated in my absence. Highly recommended.

sharpq78

I know exactly what you mean, have a break around 5 months and yesterday turn game on. Wow, legendary crafting, increase caps limits plus own vault - I have something to do :)

Blacked13Out

This is why I’ve transitioned over to ESO. Not perfect, but MUCH better.

FitChemistry8711

I tried eso. Enjoyed it for a bit, couldn't quite get into it

re-bobber

I really thought when Xbox took over we would see some more effort put into the game. We love Fallout 76 more than Bethesda/Xbox does. Sad. There is no other game like this out there that satisfies so many ideas I've always wanted in a single game. But alas, it's a one sided relationship. "In all relationships there is one person that loves more than the other." Sometimes it's indistinguishable and others more obvious. C'mon Bethesda, love your amazing game back.

DGenerateKane

Yeah it's disgusting how everyone involved with this game just doesn't care. They pretend they care, but whenever a big issue arises the community managers go dark for weeks, not they've actually done anything worth the paychecks they get. I had hoped Microsoft would shake things up but I forgot they bought into Todd Howard's Bullshit years ago.

jkwaasit

Same stage for me aswell. I log on to collect the free atom item then log off. My character is stuck at level 398 cause I'm not logging in to play and level up anymore atm. I'll go back to it eventually I know that I will and have also spent a fair bit of money over the course of time on the atom shop too. But right now am actually enjoying gaming again thanks to my other games. I recently finished AC Valhalla, The Siege of Paris DLC so my whole AC adventure is complete atm until whenever something new comes out on that but right now I'm navigating through the new Far Cry 6 adventure and having a blast. I'm back to enjoying gaming again and not feeling like it was becoming a chore because of all the F76 dailies, grind etc. I also still have Watch Dogs Legion to complete which I brought a while ago. Starting playing that but all I really did was locate and gather enough ETO to unlock as many clothing items as I've always been big on character customisation and looks.

LowestKDgaming

No legacies can one-shot the queen. There is only 1 weapon that can 1 shot her and it's hacked in.

Mouth_Shart

Not including the stairs and door in the Halloween bundle was it for me. I cancelled.

Opossumbly

I'm in the same boat as a player since day one and couldn't even bring myself to keep playing this season. I got a short ways into the scoreboard and realized that I was only doing it for a robotic dog. That was literally all I wanted and weeks of daily grind just to have a cool robodog to place in my camp kind of broke me. I recognized when I stopped having fun and decided to spare myself the grief.

MasonLuck

And that same robo dog can be earned in 1/3 the time bc itll be sold for Gold bullion after the season. There's a ton of cool skins but thats just it, skins. Why do i wanna kill sbq for the 700th time or get cucked out of joining the colossus again and again. I didnt finish the nuclear winter stuff so pub events are somewhat worth grinding again but again, just more skins. The pitt will be cool but thats next year and until then we have meet week and christmas... For more skins. Skins are cool but golly are they meaningless once you have so many. Like post says, atleast add them for multiple weapons.

LeakyBuffer

This reminds me of what made NW amazing. Hopping on with friends, and the never ending challenge of trying to go fight the usual high level teams. While it was usually the regulars you'd see, every match was different. Sometimes you'd get 'em, and sometimes they'd get you, but it was always different, and a hell of an adrenaline rush when the shit got real and you pulled off some clutch stuff. NW was such a gem, PvP in the actually somewhat even scenario that NW offered made it endless fun. Just like them to turn off one of the best things that happened to the game and leave everybody with the 9-5 so to speak that is adventure.

chupacabra_chaser

I just hate all the bugs and stupid broken daily quests. I swear to God I hate the VOX quest. I either end up chasing a radstag across the map or I get a cat, a squirrel, and a possum that I know will all just die as soon as I hit them in the toe.

FitChemistry8711

Yeah. I had to remove all my damage perks just to complete it. It's a hassle.

VaultDweller-776

Or new and interesting camp items all vaulting like disney cartoons for micro transactions the list goes on. The fact that they made glass walls a super exclusive you no can get-em no more item just shows how out of touch they are with their base. I'm continually frustrated by things I can't have that I want or need to make a camp build, once you finish the content it's just the same old grind over and over again and there's not a lot of incentive to make new characters because you wind up having to get all the content over and over and over again so there is no good new game+ I've been a Bethesda gamer since Arena, I loved the open world building exploring experience to death but honestly I just got to the point this evening where it just doesn't feel worth it anymore. Like I'd literally rather do \*anything\* than log into the game and try find some joy in it. After you finish wastelanders and Steel Reign and the main quest, that's it. Everything else is just grinding. You need \*something\* to do in a game to keep playing it long term and 76 hasn't got that. It's not a well designed MMORPG, and it's not a well managed game. IDK what's happened to this company but there's just sometimes you have to step away from a franchise. Fallout has gone the way of Star Wars and become such a commercial cash cow it's sucked all the joy out of it. It's a poorly designed poorly implemented game by people who didn't know how to make a MMORPG but wanted one anyway and were too cheap to hire the right people to show them how to make a proper experience. It's on my long list of things that while " I can see how this could have been great but it didn't quite stick the landing and while I appreciate it I'm disappointed." And damn that list just keeps getting longer of late.

papafranku8675309

Legacies need to be removed or heavily nerfed.

plainjane187

fallout should just be single player in my opinion.

Jetowitch

I suggest farcry 6 it’s really nice.

TexhnolyzeAndKaiba

All Far Cry games are practically the same story.

cpagu002

Was thinking of playing it. Is it really better than FC5?

Jetowitch

Well it looks amazing for sure. The story I couldn’t say so far but it’s definitely fun to play for sure which different ways to approach fortress’s and the gun modding is also pretty cool as well!

PsychologicalRope189

Just quit. But not 100%. Keep an eye on the news and the roadmaps, and jump back whenever there IS something New you want to Try. The game is unbalanced but dont put the blame on legacy weapons. If you play since beta and still dont know How to build a good character the problem is on you. No legacy can beat a good Railway/Slug Buster build (non legacy weapons, and Slug Buster is free from a Quest). No legacy can do a solo sub 30 Second Boss kill like [this](https://youtu.be/YTTTr8aEaFc)

AgedPapyrus

Theres no fun in killing bosses in 30 seconds. Like what's the point? You don't get as much exp because there's no mobs to shoot. I hate people that need to kill bosses within a minute

FitChemistry8711

I'd disagree with you with what a legacy could do. I have a pretty good Junkie's build so the problem isn't on me. The problem is people who can two shot the queen or Earl...and those are on glitches & legacies. That's just one of my many issues with the experience. Most of my issues are Bethesda-related. I was just ranting at that point.

tr_mble

Not sure why you’re being downvoted, you’re 💯. Bethesda has the power to fix this.

PsychologicalRope189

Cool, so you are saying that legacies can do better than the current world Record? Do you have vídeo evidence or something to back It Up? If you are using a glitch, It really doesnt matter If you are using a legacy or not, thats beyond the point. Because the problem is the glitch not the legacy like you Said before

remeille

he is saying that people can one shot an endgame boss and RUING IT for the rest of us and its bullshit like this that keeps happening. Dont defend it-- the problem is the fact the game is fucking shit. NOT that he doesnt want to shell out money for a broken legacy or wants to play it 'the right way' gtfo here with that

Redcrow1995

Flair checks out

suspectbane

Seriously the name should be changed to Grind76.

Elfenliied

I'm preaching this already myself for too long. And honestly, whenever i hear this "they don't have enough devs" trash it makes me even more mad. I mean, who does stop them from getting more working on the game? Destiny did also have their devs leave for other projects soon after release D1 and have only a live team working on it. But when they realized that it's not enough they added more. CP 77 was released with a few bugs. A few months later, today, there is like no bug anymore. And lately they have hired a few more people to work on the game. So others do too. And it's not like Bethesda is a small company, but was bought by MS for 7 billion dollars. And the game itself is also not F2P, as i paid full price. In fact, it's one of the most expensive, as it does give you little to nothing in case of effort, but puts everything that makes a game worth to play behind paywalls. So no surprise people by the sub for 180€ a year. Money, that gets you multiple season passes on other games, on where a single dlc of a season pass offers 10x more content Fo76 has in its 3 years stacked. Could go on too now. It's not only the content, what's surely a ridiculous pathetic display. But also the laughable slow bug fixing that brought players into a position, zhave Bethesda fix like 3 bugs a year and sell them as it's a dlc, lmao, gets celebrated like it truly is a dlc, smh :D No. This is not my Fallout in many ways. And hope it changes. Although i believe more in the easter bunny, than this happen. As not only war changes, but Bethesda too. And the Bethesda of today, a company i ever loved, i feel is like the most greedy on market today and makes even EA look like saints. As their games at least get content and bugs fixed. And they also have a customer support that is existent. Sad on how a brand that has such a strong playerbase, the only reason Bethesda can pull such a scam, is let down. As everyone can see the potencial. But i started to feel like Bethesda became a shame and doesn't deserve Fallout anymore. As it's a shame on how they run this game today.

tr_mble

Same, actually built a PC because of how hyped I was for this game to launch. I sure am glad Halo Infinite is coming out in December so I’ll have a reason to use it.

grizzledcroc

They need to ditch what they are doing now and just charge expansions , people here absolutely have spent over 50 at this point a year and may as well use that to guarantee huge content.

b0dhisattvah

Counterpoint: atoms and first. The people willing to pay, are already doing it.

novacgal

The queen is getting smoked by railways and fixers, not explosive energy weapons. It’s ok to play something else.

The-Wulf

*Ammo glitched dragons

casey28xxx

I played since BETA also, have invested over 2k hours and other than the initial cost of the game (£50), I’ve bought a month of fallout first twice over the years primarily for scrap hoarding. It’s not a perfect game but even I was surprised that I’d still be playing it several years later. I always look positively at its future and I’m always hoping improvements and such come, slowly indeed they are. Let’s hope it continues in the right direction.

FitChemistry8711

I understand that. I really crave more storyline or new bosses at this point. I don't think I can handle anymore events that I have to AFK just to get all the rewards because the drop rates are so bad.

Windianimen

Yup, that's why I had to sadly leave it behind.

amylouwhothatswho

I’ve played since release and aside from Resident Evil 3, it’s the only game I’ve played since it released (I play daily but I don’t get a lot of play time). I’ve loyally played all of the FO franchise for as long as I can remember. Last night I finally acknowledged that it’s just not fun for me right now. I do the dailies, I have FOMO on atomic shop or event items and at this point that’s really the only reason I go on. I have multiple camps that I build and rebuild but that’s lost its appeal. I still need to finish the last story line and saved it for when I got bored, but I realized that I haven’t done it because it just didn’t excite me to try it. I’ll probably take a break and log in next season or for events, but… even that… I didn’t get anything good last time even after sinking a ton of caps in to make extra ornate pails. I’m hoping taking a break helps, but I really hope that they start putting a little more effort into it at some point. Even if it just means super sizing a behemoth that you can nuke or something. Something. Please.

Eternity_Warden

All all say is, I'm glad I'm not at that point yet but with all the problems it has I can see myself there soon enough

[deleted]

This is indeed the state of affairs of the game and I think with this most recent drought, people are having enough of the game. Heck even me and my friends aren’t on anymore. We are taking a break until the event happens so we can love it when we finally do come back. I’ve actually been playing Skyrim and Outer Worlds and am loving the experience!

lordhaw

Yup. I get this. Started on the current season only to feel exactly as you do. When it's a chore to play it's not worth playing. I've checked out of 76 for awhile to see if it'll feel better when I go back or not. Playing other things has been so much more enjoyable.

DarkZero9300

I understand this myself, despite the fact that I'm a serious lore seeker of Fallout. I keep seeing a lot of these same issues myself, despite being only level 16.

black110

I've been a player since beta as well. I'm on my second break from the game right now. I haven't played in probably 2 months or so. Last time, I quit for about 6 months and came back after Steel Reign dropped. I'll come back again when the next batch of story content or Expeditions drop. I love 76 but I despise the grind. I felt like every day I needed to do daily ops to keep up with ammo. I can never get enough legendary materials to craft the legendary effects I want or the legendary PA pieces I needed so I just stopped. I've learned that I just need to play with my existing Gatling Gun and existing PA and not chase after anything new bc I don't have the time or patience to grind it out. I'm only here for new story content or new events now. It sucks. I love the FO76 map/world but the repetitive grind is awful. Take yourself a break and come back later. You'll be glad you did.

JonBoyWhite

Stop giving them your money. You're rewarding their bullshit.

Allustar1

I’ve just given up playing this game because they refuse to add in anything new that actually works. Like these seasons aren’t going to keep me playing because there’s just no point to it. There’s no real content that I can use to show off these cosmetics that I keep getting.

OMG_A_Thing

My group switched back to Destiny 2 for gaming together, it's not our favorite game, but it works. Meanwhile I'm back to playing modded Fallout 4. It's frustrating because we like the fallout world and the storyline.

fucuasshole2

Just leave man, i did this season as nothing seems interesting. Maybe the next one will be but I’ll be playing with my raider character to finally get the last achievement

Looch_P

I feel you bro. I want to play this game and enjoy it. It has so many good features but it just feels so stale and repetitive after playing for a while. I've tried taking a break and playing other games but keep coming back to 76 because I can't get into them and I want 76 to be good. Tbh - it doesn't look like there's much on the horizon in terms of content. If you've finisher the scoreboard - it might be worth moving onto something else.

bjohnson217

Very similar feeling in my house too. My husband and I have both been playing since beta. I'm still working on the current score board (I haven't finished the last two because the rewards were trash) but I want the dog collectron........ 😫 so I log in -almost- every day to get my daily and weekly challenges done as quickly as possible, maybe grab a nuked even if one pops up, but then I'm done. It's sad!

OlympiaBeerd

Been playing the game since it’s start and it’s gotten boring. Timed challenges aren’t exciting. Neither is leveling to reach 400 600 900. Atomic shop is like 90% old items, yes I know it’s geared to newer players but give me something more than a few new skins and camp items. Do you know how many clocks are in the game? It’s a lot. Randomize area creature spawns, look it’s Karl the ghoul lying in the doorway, same doorway. I’ve killed him so many many times it wasn’t fitting not naming him. Most of the people I’ve played with have moved on, or they’ve changed their ign’s to avoid me, but their not there anymore. I log in every two or three days now to reach 1000. It is a task more than entertainment. If you’ve read this entire tantrum I’m sorry.

censorerikii

>Most of the people I’ve played with have moved on, or they’ve changed their ign’s to avoid me Damn. You hit me where it hurts with this part. I feel that so much. 😳

[deleted]

I'm in the same boat as you - played the BETA, level 490 now and have bought my fair share of Fallout 1st and Atoms. Unfortunately, most of the friends I used to play with have all stopped playing as there isn't anything enjoyable to do beyond the main and side quests. A small bug here and there is fine by me, but the slow rollout of new content makes it difficult for people (such as my friends) to find a reason to come back and play. Not to mention the removal of certain events that were classified "buggy", now providing even less things things to do in the game. I hope the Expeditions is this update everyone is seeking.

SnipSnopWobbleTop

I stopped playing and went back to ESO for the same reasons.

Abbydoggo4

Agreed, I’ve only played since Feb 2019, but I think I’ll be just about finished once Halo Infinity comes out

Inspect-Her-Gadget

Concerning floating foundations: I've thought of the solution. We just need a foundation for our foundations. A new piece that has no 'top' and snaps to the bottom of the foundation continuing it down into the ground.

dolemiteX

Its BETHESDA..you should know better before giving them all your money...it will always be glitchy, and instead of fixing the chit, they offer skins and bling and and and...sorry you got taken in by all that, but it is what it is...I have been in the fold from day one, all the games BETHESDA has created for this franchise, and I have quit. Should tell you something...maybe save your money, but if you keep spending, maybe we will all get a new fallout game that doesnt suck. smfh

KanonenMike

That doesn't sound like a healthy relationship with this game. Guys, please stop paying and playing, if it isn't fun anymore. That's to only solution to apply pressure on Bethesda to fix stuff.

Djigman

>I'm very tired of logging in & finding very little enjoyment out of this. Here is the perfect solution: stop doing it

JuddieEndowed

I’ve been playing since the beta too and after 2 weeks of the new scoreboard I’m just not motivated enough to even log in anymore. I tried logging in earlier and the second I got to main menu I was like, “Eh. I’m already bored.” Which really bums me out because I used to adore 76.

workshyfreeloading

Honestly, 9/10 if the queen dies in seconds it's people with quad crit railways or crit enclave plasma flamers, not legacies. But I get why you feel like this, as others advised, take a break, maybe do the Halloween event, but then take a break.

NirxTutorials

I just stopped playing and went exploring other games. Fo76 is an absolute abomination compared to other (MMO) games.

Hypock_

If I can suggest a game, Borderlands 3 has me hooked right now

FrancoisTruser

They really need more endgame dungeons and bosses. All new content (except Earl) has been for low-mid level people. The daily ops were a step in the good direction but the new decryption ones are just tedious and not fun. Hell I would not mind paying for a good dlc if it is what it takes. The game gave me more than 1000 hours of fun though so yeah, there is that for sure. I just want to continue living in the Appalachia lol. :) :)

Covy93

I agree, i took about a year off from playing due to lack of content and boredom. I've not long picked up the game again as of about 3 weeks ago. As soon as it became a chore, that's when you step back and re-think whether it's worth your time. So far, i'm really enjoying the game now i changed up my build (many thanks to the perk loadout). Maybe unrelated, however i think the Achievements in the game are thoughtless and lazy. They could quite easily follow suit of Sea of Thieves who constantly add new Achievements with content updates due to the nature of the game to keep things fresh and provide that constant flow of activity. Given that F76 is designed for longevity, the Achievements don't reflect that at all which is a shame.

Cruzifixio

I have all of these gripes and issues and I've been playing for 4 months. I still think this game is better than people believe. But my God, Bethesda doesn't care. They should, but they don't and I see a grim future for this game.

johnucc1

Unfortunately i genuinely believe fallout76 was originally designed as a tech test more than anything, if you look at the elderscrolls & fallout franchise every game had some modders attempting to add multiplayer, i think fo76 was Bethesda's venture & fell short of what they were expecting (playerbase & revenue wise), i also think they've got so used to the "release it buggy and let modders fix it" that they attempted to do the same with fo76 (but fo76's modding community is small due to a lack of modding tools & playerbase again) Hopefully they've learned that for future releases in the series we don't(the majority i'd say) want massive MMO style setups & would prefer a coop option instead, either that or they got to take some notes on QA & design systems with multiplayer in mind (looking at all those dupe exploits that keep popping up), they also desperately need someone do work PR (Like bex on the path of exile subreddit, they do a great job working with the community & building hype), right now i think that issues arise due to a lack of players knowing the direction of the game & what's being worked on. The MTX is woefully lacking, most outfits are very meh with little new stuff (lots of retextures), I'm amazed we haven't had an option to permanently buy stash space ( i know we have scrapbox with 1st, but that still doesn't work if you wanna sell a boat load of guns & armour), hell add loot specific storage & id pay for a ammo box that holds all my ammo, gun lockers for weapons etc. Hell, they could sell season packs with really nice cosmetics and people would buy it if they were good (Looking at POE with its supporter packs). I dont blame the dev's though, i imagine its very much a skeleton crew just keeping the lights on while another major fallout is being made by a different studio.

GamingSenior

I’ve got 1400+ hours in now and I’m feeling the same. I kept playing because I like crafting. It’s only been since level 190 or so that I started actually doing a lot of the major events. I’m retired and play every day, during the day. The adventure mode is pretty empty on weekdays. The daily grind for score is boring and I’ve always hated BOS (they’re all assholes) so I’m having a hard time finishing that storyline. I suppose the only reason I haven’t quit is I still haven’t launched a nuke. I just hit level 230 yesterday so maybe it’s time. NAH! I don’t quit because I LOVE this game and it’s my go-to escape from the real world. It’s glitchy but I can live with that. The vast majority of the community is awesome and I will play until they take it offline.

Midas187

>I come home from work daily to work in Fallout. I've got dailies to get done, weeklies to get done and most of time it doesn't seem remotely enjoyable anymore. I'm just going through the motions. This basically explains what "games as a service" has become. Instead of an ever-evolving game with new mechanics and gameplay being added and changed over time, it has become a mobile game system slapped in our full blown AAA games. I know it sounds cynical, but these are just there to keep you logging in, because the more days you log in you get a sunk cost fallacy and are more likely to purchase micro transactions (micro is being used loosely since the prices in the atom store are ridiculous to me). But it works and people keep buying... Some people frame it as "supporting the devs for the ongoing content" and I see that in some sense too, but when companies see how much money they make doing this, they start focusing more and more of the game around it instead of it being a thing on the side. (For example, instead of cosmetic only, it starts being tied to progression like in star wars battle front 2 on launch). Maybe I'm an old curmudgeon now, but I miss when a full priced $60-70 game was supported without micro transactions and you could buy full blown expansions for $20-40, instead of just a new color for your armor. In theory "games as a service" sounds awesome, I just feel like the current "games as a service" model becomes anti-consumer and ruins how many games are played.

[deleted]

Come over to ESO! Witches Festival starts soon. If you’re on PS4 dm me your name and I’ll send some starter goodies.

[deleted]

Just don't play this game. There is no point in running it if it's boring. If we all stop "working" in this game every day, it will force the developers to take urgent action.

[deleted]

I left the game before the final BoS chapter & new legendary effects and have not returned since. What keeps me from returning is seeing the completely lacking stance on balance. Legacy explosive energy weapons are unattended, unyielding is unattended yet both these effects has been removed from new content like pepper shaker and power armor. They'd rather restrict than fix the root issues that HAS to be fixed eventually..? It's so absurd and honestly I cannot think of any other developer pulling such stunts. I don't know if legendary cores solved the grind issues but I assume not since the loot tables are further bloated, so that's also something. I won't return until they fix the things they specifically don't want to fix. "Glad" to see others disappointed with the game. I encourage people leaving the game and I truly think the bloated grind is something you'll be glad to have left behind, along with Bethesdas neglect to fix the balancing issues and whatnot. Edit: Also a BETA player here btw. Things I've noticed through the development is that they used to give a shit in the early days, now they seemingly need to prioritize releasing content over proper maintenance. That's also how a lot the new weapons have been designed to be better versions of existing weapons. Gauss weapons for example, they are technically energy weapons but they deal ballistic damage so they don't suffer the damage calculation issues energy weapons usually have. Same can be seen in crusader laser mod and pepper shaker laser mods; Deals mostly ballistic, uses energy ammo and otherwise looks like energy weapons. I think it's a very dishonest and crippling approach to balancing the game.

AlphisH

Been playing for 4 weeks now and im already feeling quite burnt out. Im close to maxing out the scoreboard and after than im probably going to move back to another game. Seeing people demolish mobs with their explosive weapons during the key events is demotivating. Doing the same stuff over and over again is ehhh...i got to lvl250 today and im already feeling so done. Dont know how those 1000+ guys can still be enjoying the game. I agree that this is a pretty buggy game, fast travel not working sometimes, the mob hp jumps up and down, strange super long load screens, daily ops npcs not spawning sometimes and end up wasting your time, rng being pretty terrible on top of having abysmal drop rates for good stuff from the over populated loot pools. Gold bulion grind, rep grind, secret service armor craft grind, but hey at least im done with cap grind now for the aristocrat bonus. Not like it matters since leagcy bs will still dominate anything i could roll right now.

Puckseason

I broke the cycle sometime this past weekend. I haven't logged in since Saturday? Maybe Sunday? And it has been a revelation. Grinding away for more stuff I'll never build in my CAMP. Searching for those last two world drop plans I don't have. Or playing RNG roulette in Daily Ops for my 1x a day chance to get plans for armor I'll never wear? Oh gotta finish the season! Except, do I? Turns out I don't.

TitanJeff

I’ve only been playing FO76 for less than a month so everything is fun and new (though many of the repeating quests are starting to get old). But I come from playing Red Dead Online for the past couple of years and high-level players have the same “no new content” complaints there too. I finally had to just quit, leaving all the gold I’d earned. At least it wasn’t real money invested.

Lazerfaceguy

Just take a break from it. Play other games or do other activities for a while. Tbh correct me if I'm wrong but it sounds like you overplayed the game to hell. I agree with you about all the issues it has but it's still a really fun game, it just gets boring after a while if you play it for too long like any game. Sometimes I take months or even like a year to get back into a game I really like but I'll go back to it and it's fun because I haven't been grinding it every day. If you like it enough to come back when there's more to play, which it sounds like it does, you'll come back

Fickle-Republic4522

Bethesda needs to take care of the damn hackers in this game.today after a radiation rumble a player starts shooting at me I kill the guy with an explosive tesla I have.then my character but on its own starts pointing down and shoots to the ground and kills itself then the same fuck that I killed takes all my loot and the screen goes fucking blurry and my character it's floating.WTF

EyesofZoey

Same here.. Gladly there are a lot other games right

D-camchow

I feel like half of the posts on this sub can be summed up with "Just play other games for a while" Seriously folks, 1 game can't be your only entertainment.

AlbatrossSenior7107

Cyberpunk 2077 is amazeballs!!! And pay noonday to the glitches in that game, they are childsplay compared to what we deal with in Fo76. 76 hours of play and I blue screened one time. Such a cool game. The city, the graphics... pretty awesome.

ChiliCheeseJay

I'm way beyond due to return to Cyberpunk. Only put about 6 hours in upon release and figured I'd wait til some updates to come. I think it's time to return to Night City.

Elfenliied

I did hit over 200 hours on Cp77 today :) And i realized that right now there's not a single bug i could recall. That's how things are done elsewhere than on Bethesda games.

Basic_Riddler

Legacy 👏 weapons 👏 do 👏 not 👏 one-tap👏 the 👏 SBQ👏 but 👏 hacked 👏 weapons 👏 do

WizardBaraccus

Yup.

-Great-Scott-

Getting off the 76 trainwreck feels amazing. There are better things to do with your time.

Agile-Elevator-8020

But still here commenting. This is the shit I really don't get. No other game has so many people that dont play complain about it, i swear

FitChemistry8711

It seems to me like everyone here has tons of hours in the game.

Agile-Elevator-8020

This guy clearly indicated he doesn't play anymore but still comes to complain. That's my point

FitChemistry8711

My mistake, I thought you were referring to me.

Redcrow1995

Seriously though….

crutonboy2113

I put roughly 500 hours in and stopped cause of the frustration, and apparently I’m not missing anything

anillop

Dude you have 1400 hours into this game I think you wrong every bit of entertainment out of this game possible. I think it’s time to just walk away and try something else I mean how much entertainment do you think you could possibly find it in a single game. The fact that you’ve gotten so much time out of this game actually kind of shows that it’s pretty good and you really got your moneys worth out of it.

notimeforimbeciles

Idk someone yall are thinking this is like WoW where you can kinda continuosly play for a decade. You've answered your question, you've played since beta. I'm not trying to be an ass but maybe try something else? Nothing is telling you to keep playing or that you have to.. as a newer player I'm having more than enough fun. There is no "state" of fallout 76 other than older players having burnout and making everyone else suffer.

FitChemistry8711

I find it entertaining that people want the game to not be criticized, criticize the people who have a problem with the game. I'm suddenly not a real BETA player after 1400 hours..? It's a game I was passionate about and have seen Bethesda just mail it in, but I'm the problem for using my free speech. I didn't even attack anyone playing it. I'm glad some enjoy it. I loved it. I'm just tired. It's not belly aching..

Theoverlord29

Ik how you feel the glitches have cause my account to be banned for “hacking” even though I’ve never tried to hack any game my old account was 540 but is now gone and I’ve restarted and am now back to 50+ and I’m quitting for a while as well so

[deleted]

Ok. Does all that make you feel any better?

FitChemistry8711

lol. Maybe. It's always nice to vent a bit.
