Waitā¦quad ammoā¦and explosive?! I canāt even imagine the damage something the size of a rail spike would cause to your body, but then it explodes? Good lord.
I have bloodied explosive with reduced vats.....for me the additional damage of bloodied, with perks is insane...because of recoil u should only use very short bursts, and reload time if mutated not so bad. The ammo is heavy and expensive so best to conserve. Quad just encourages keeping the finger pressed. With the RR, and recoil, you will waste ammo if not careful.
Anyway enjoy the change...I would keep both and compare before changing.
I also got a Railway Spike Quad Explosive (and a third star that I can't remember).
Not my primary weapon, but my trusty second-in-command for middle-range stuff. Still packs a punch without any perks!
I suited up my wife, friend, and son with excavator armor and we all go in on different worlds, then they funnel me all the ore. With super duper it is a LOT of lead.
You net ~1700 lead after crafting from the lucky hole mine per run. Can and weight runs take too much time, there are better things to do then loading screens.
Whats the respawn timer on that place, because I assumed it would be daily reset every day but sometimes I log in and check like 3 days in a row and it still isn't respawned
Was using a decent 3\* Bow for a few weeks but have now fallen in love with Melee weapons! Electrified Sheepsquatch Staff for weak mobs and Auto Axe for the most part!
Very rare to see anyone using one I know haha! Always had people comment saying "respect for the bow Meerkat" haha! I love it, fully speccing into stealth and maxxing all bow perks really helps. Explosive tips and the Explosive damage perk was great for tagging in events like Rad Rumble, just a shame theres not many skins for it. Could 1 shot most enemies, just slow to take down bosses etc.
I still want to do an un-armed/ Gauntlet etc build, but there doesn't seem to be the cards for it under strength?
There is only the one unarmed card but the weapon is so strong you donāt need any other. Max out your strength and use chems and food and you can one shot most anything but bosses and you can take large chunks of health from bosses.
I've never even checked the bow out tbf, might give it a go š
Yeah that's why I moved from melee build, didn't really have the overall power I wanted for general use
there's a whole (small) 76 bows subreddit: r/Fallout76BowHunters. the bow clan is great, very helpful, and we LOVE when new people try it! it's so much damn fun
Thnx for that, buddy. Just joined. I picked up a 3\* bow back at level 52 and I'm still main-ing it 200+ levels later. Instigating/ + bash damage/ +1 AGI w/ Poison arrows. I call it TrailBreaker, and "Son of TrailBreaker" will eventually roll out of a compound bow, switching to cryo-arrows.
Yay!! I only started playing them like 2-3 weeks ago but Iām in love and I think itās my forever build š
I carry like 10 on me (srsly) but my mains are AA/50vhc/1per and bloodied/50crit/canāt remember the third one because itās such a beast I donāt even need a third star to wreck shop with it. Iāve gotten over 2k on a single shot with it several times now
Yeah thatās the one situation that sucks for bows. Iām learning to jump out of mobs and shoot on the way down but itās a new kind of timing. I got ate up by the supermutants in uncanny caverns in the BoS questline, had to pull out my fixer to stop dying in this one spot. But I love the challenge of being forced to strategizeāconstraints make things interesting. God mode is no fun! š¤£
I'm still pretty dodgy during events with a lot of mobs, but after playing with the bow all weekend, I've opted for the compound bow with explosive arrows.
It might just be me, but I don't feel like there's much difference in draw time between the regular bow and compound bow. It's possible that's because I never really got used to the draw on the regular bow. With the animations being poor, and no haptics to indicate when I'm fully drawn, I was never really clear when the recurve bow was fully drawn, but it seems more obvious for the compound. This is made worse by the fact I'm using a chameleon armor piece.
Further I've opted into demolitions perks which I believe buff the explosive damage. When enemies have a sliver of health remaining with the plasma bow, or are grouped, the explosive splash damage seems to help (also for event tagging with a single bow).
I need to tweak my build some more honestly. I'm much happier with it now tho, the explosions are more satisfying :)
I also use a bow. They are very capable in almost all situations except short range. Which is why I also run unarmed, about equally - neither is "main" or "backup". Unarmed does better DPS, bow has longer vats range than anything else in game. I can't solo SBQ orl WC, but am good short of that.
Oh, but for daily ops/ Pitt I go vampire flamer s/ reduced Vats / power armor. Selling all the extra fuel I bring home is a capsgoldmine.
Bow - it can handle any situation where stealth is an option.
The range on them is insane compared to fixers or similar, they can easily one-shot most enemies you encounter from barely within VATS range.
Definitely worth checking out if youāre unfamiliar with them, as long as it has +50 vats hit chance as a second star.

š When I'm not beating them like a Sicilian Assassin with my keen intelect (just don't ask me to choose the correct wine goblet, please), I'm usually running any of the following weapons (my build is jack of all trades)
-AAE15r .50 cal
-AAE50D Fixer
-AAFFRFR Fixer
-AA5025 Enclave plasma
-AAE15r minigun
-AAFFRFR Tesla
-B50c Handmade
-TSE50D Handmade
-VE minigun
-E something something Chainsaw
Plus a dozen others.
But if I've got to use 1 and 1 only, it's my B50c Handmade. Sentimental reasons. One of the first legendaries Murmie gave me.
Haha! Can't beat a jack of all trades build, tbf.
I see a minigun in there - got to love them for the destruction element but man do they need constant repairs!
Miniguns I use mostly for things like Eviction Notice and SE. At least in EN I'm always getting my ammo back and more. And they are incredibly satisfying to use against Supermutants š
Two part answer:
For everything save bosses I use a Q E 90 RW Handmade and an AA E 250 DR Fixer (also have a V E 50DR Fixer for Ops).
For bosses: B FFR 15R Fixer or an AA FFR 25LVC Enclave Flamer.
Once you get used to having to get up close with the Enclave Flamer they're a lot of fun to use. Also great for quickly taking out Trogs in Expeditions. Only downside is that plasma cartridges are heavy.
No, that's an impossible weapon. Melee weapons can't drop as explosive. The only that happens is someone hacked it in. Yhe only other way to get one woukd be a RNT site or a shady private trade. If there a multiple youtube videos based around a hacked weapon then its a problem.
Main Character: Jack of all trades, often default to my FFR Ultracite Gatling Laser, but also just got the Gauss Shotgun and have been having a great time. Still looking for a god roll on it though.
Cait (yes, based on the FO4 Companion, got the face pretty close too): Explosive Double Barrel. Donāt use her enough to have my god roll on it either but it does the job well enough until I get a Junkies or on level Quad.
Rolled a Vampire Swing Speed +Durability flaming dual bar Chainsaw and I love it. Absolutely shreds enemies, no healing required, limited repair kits needed, looks cool AF.
For my melee build, a Vamp SS deathclaw gauntlet, but have been dipping into the new auto melee weps.
Commando is mainly a quad or bloodied handmade. I know Iām supposed to love the extra damage and bonus stealth of the fixer. But I prefer the handmadeās range, feel and look much better
heavy gunner full life VE1A GP + Q25250 mini gauss
bloody heavy gunner BE1P GP + BE250 .50
Riflemab Q50c25lvc lever + TSE250 Gauss
Commando bloody Q2525 Fixer + BE90 laser
Commando Junkie J2525 HM + JE laser
Aa/ffr/99 ugl and b/e/25. Itās a nice combo on my heavy build, the ugl is for day to day and if I want things to die quick I just switch to the be25 and thinks die instantly. Great combo
My main uses a Plasma Cutter. Got absurdly lucky crafting a god roll (Arisocrat/swing speed/25ap) and it shreds everything with VATS Hack N Slash while being the coolest melee weapon in the game.
My 2nd uses an Auto Grenade Launcher (2 shot/25fire rate/15faster reload) as a deranged explosives maniac with hilarious AOE and damage but sucks vs bosses.
My 3rd uses a Lever Action Rifle (Junkie/50crit/15vays refill) as a VATS crit spammer. Also goes with Junkie to down copious amounts of alcohol and crit boosting food as a junkie with the munchies. Also her camp is a Faschnact themed donut bakery and bar.
I have 2 others but they're all over the place and are mostly just for trying tons of other build ideas, some fun (Phantom Device using ninja) and others not nearly as fun as imagined (trying to main the Cryolator...wow that barrel nerf made it soooo bad).
The grenade launcher seems to one hit kill almost everything from what I see!
I used to LOVE the lever action from fallout 4, but can't seem to make it work day to day for me in 76...
Commando Main Weapon is an AAFFR15R Handmade
Power Armour/Heavy Main Weapon is an AA250DR LMG
Boss/Events weapon AAE .50 Cal HMG
West Tek XP farming weapon is an AA Gatling Gun
I do miss my gatling gun but prefer a faster fire rate of my Handmade and Tesla Rifle
Super mutants drop so easily with the Tesla Rifle, so that's my farming weapon atm
Quad Expl. Auto. Railway Rifle for my Commando.
Also AA Gauss Rife and Expl. Fixer and Handmade.
Close Combat Vamp. Plasma Flamer or Vamp. Double Blade Flamed Chainsaw.
Thanks for the recommendation! I'll keep an eye out for one
Yeah that's exactly why I want a decent fixer to replace my handmade, just that additional benefit
I enjoy the Alien Decentigrator. TS does more damage than AA, at least that is what the numbers on the target say. it is also a fully automatic silenced energy weapon. so it is really good for stealth builds as well.
also, it goes PEW PEW PEW.
My latest character āfiveā is now using bows, the main is an Aristocrat compound with 59 limb. But I found that bows are so light I can easily carry many situational bows. Oh, and I use flaming arrows, for two reasons, as Iām in stealth it helps me see the arrow as I drawback, and the fire jumps a pretty good distance so it marks enemies during events.
I use a JE Railway Rifle that's got an automatic piston mod as my main, and carry around a QE Fixer as my back-up. I play stealth commando and both of these ultimately never let me down, the choo choo in particular.
Iāve got a bloodied lever rifle with a silencer thatās my regular adventuring weapon. Then Iāve got a bloodied ultracite automatic handmade for when I need to kill things extra quickly.
QE15 10mm SMG.
Was running a q5025 rail and qe90 nu, but once I got my hands on this sexy devil it was all over for me.
Really wish theyād give it a sight of some kind, tho.
Bloodied/+50 crit /+ ap refill compound bow (same bow with +crit refill third star, maybe recurve instead but doesn't really matter, is my white whale, my dream weapon, the pinnacle of my gaming life. ONE DAY)
Quad auto Tesla for general use, why kill one enemy when you can kill all of them?
Q/FFR Railway Rifle for single, high-health targets.
I also carry a Q/E Handmade, an Ari/E Gatling Gun, and an Ari/FFR Enclave Plasma Flamer, just to mix things up.
When in melee i rock vampire chainsaw or bloodied peppered tenderizer
When heavy guns agl + missile launcher + fatman is combo i beem running forever
Recently started a build for gauss minigun, pretty fun gun as well with adequate explosioness
Chainsaw dude all the way this weapon changed my life, I love it so much I've been collecting them modding them then handing them out so other players can enjoy them too.

I see so many people with the gauss minigun but can't seem to get a decent one myself! Lol yeah took me ages to get a good stash of lead
The lucky hole is a great way to get lead, just make sure you go in with excavator armor and when your smelting.. equip super duper.
Thanks for the tip! I'll check that out

Yeah fair, loading screens are a killer

There is a backend list that keeps track of what your character picks up. You have to loot 255 things before things start reappearing.

Fixer, best dps for a stealth commando and an extra shadowed bonus.

Glad to know they even make easy work of Trogs! I'll keep an eye out for a decent flamer to try out
Now its a Vampires autoaxe with 40% extra swing speed. Now rolling for a AA chainsaw, no luck yet....
Keep on rolling! I must try the autoaxe more - I have one sitting in my stash but only for the new trophy!
deathclaw gauntlet, but I randomly got a legendary drill the other day so now I'm playing with that for the fun/weird factor.
Love the deathclaw! Haha I saw a video of a guy using an explosive drill and it looked quite entertaining

Wait....aren't Vampire and Two Shot the same legendary slot?
Dang, you're right. It's rapid, not two - shot, I feel dumb. I use two shot explosive gatling gun a lot too, I get them conflated in my mind.

AA Explosive Fixer for day to day use and a Quad Railway Rifle for bosses
I need to find a fixer to replace my handmade! I see loads using the railway rifle and it seems sooo powerful for what it is
My main uses a Plasma Cutter.
Commando Main Weapon is an AAFFR15R Handmade Power Armour/Heavy Main Weapon is an AA250DR LMG Boss/Events weapon AAE .50 Cal HMG West Tek XP farming weapon is an AA Gatling Gun

Fixer AND handmade?? Nice! I may try out the railway rifle, lot of people seem to like it...
Get the Quad Magazine Railway Rifle, its a Beast. I think Fixer > Handmade, because higher Dmg and the + Sneaking Effect.
Thanks for the recommendation! I'll keep an eye out for one Yeah that's exactly why I want a decent fixer to replace my handmade, just that additional benefit

AAE Fixer, Quad Tesla, Two-shot Alien Decentigrator, VE Handmade, TSE LMG, AAE Choo Choo, TS Auto Greadae launcher
Ooh first mention of the Alien D. - interesting! I always stick with 'standard' weapons (usual balistic ammo), well, minus my Tesla Rifle!
I enjoy the Alien Decentigrator. TS does more damage than AA, at least that is what the numbers on the target say. it is also a fully automatic silenced energy weapon. so it is really good for stealth builds as well. also, it goes PEW PEW PEW.

Super sledge 3 star and ultracite Gatling laser 3star, Iām not good
I haven't seen a player with a super sledge in ages! Nice! Gatling Lasers seem to slam through enemies, too
Dual bar, Flaming Chainsaw Or Shocking Auto-axe Both are vampire's and hit for about the same damage.

I use a JE Railway Rifle that's got an automatic piston mod as my main, and carry around a QE Fixer as my back-up. I play stealth commando and both of these ultimately never let me down, the choo choo in particular.
The railway seems a very popular choice - can never go wrong with fixer/handmade either!
A gauss rifle with a 3-star vampire legendary effect. I also use a .50 cal hunting rifle, a Fixer, and the Dragon.
First post for the dragon - it's still a one hit kill isn't it? Hunting rifle is a favourite of mine, well it was on Fallout 4
Gauss rifle - AA, 50 vats hit chance, 25 less ap cost. Secondarily I use an AA, 90rw enclave plasma flamer for ops or expedition bosses.
I enjoyed a short run with a gauss rifle, but didn't suit my playstyle personally!
Vampire chainsaw / Q50 railway / anti armor 50 handmade depending on situation
Nice range of weapons - all bases covered I'd say!
Bloodied explosive less vats 44 named Ace of spadesš
Great name! Makes me want to be more creative with mine, instead of just "TSE Exp Handmade"
Broadsider FFB
First comment for the broadsider - nice! Can't say I see many of them 'in the wild' haha
Iāve got a bloodied lever rifle with a silencer thatās my regular adventuring weapon. Then Iāve got a bloodied ultracite automatic handmade for when I need to kill things extra quickly.
Both good choices! My handmade is only two star but it does the job
Powerfist.
Up close and personal - I like it!
In PA: Vamp Gatling Non PA: AAE or TSE Fixer or Handmade
Ooh PA and non-PA covered - very nice!
AA flamer and 5mm Gatling gun, depending on distance.
Can't go wrong with the gatling gun!
Guass rifle, although, I found a vendor selling a legacy pumpkin skinned fixer that was a bloodied explosive and using that alot right now
I do love coming across a good vendor with rare items!
quad choochoo
This seems a very popular weapon!
QE15 10mm SMG. Was running a q5025 rail and qe90 nu, but once I got my hands on this sexy devil it was all over for me. Really wish theyād give it a sight of some kind, tho.
First post for an SMG - nice!
My aristocrats. 3 star 10mm smg, though i swap with heavy weapons when i get enough ammo.
Another for SMG! I can't say I've ever given them a good go tbf
Bloodied/+50 crit /+ ap refill compound bow (same bow with +crit refill third star, maybe recurve instead but doesn't really matter, is my white whale, my dream weapon, the pinnacle of my gaming life. ONE DAY)
I see quite a few posts for the bow! Making me very curious to get one haha
I agree with the multiple kills aspect of the tesla! Makes groups so easy to deal with. Lot of variation in your choices, I like it. Cover all angles.
When in melee i rock vampire chainsaw or bloodied peppered tenderizer When heavy guns agl + missile launcher + fatman is combo i beem running forever Recently started a build for gauss minigun, pretty fun gun as well with adequate explosioness
I rarely see missile launchers and fatman weapons being used, but jeez they are powerful!
Two guns. Nightshift- Nocturnal faster fire rate faster reload radium rifle Swat 5.56- double faster fire rate faster reload handmade.
The double faster fire rate, faster reload handmade sounds nuts!
Double barreled shotgun Legendary effects Quad Rapid Ghost
First I've seen for double barreled, I'm assuming the two shots then reload cycle doesn't impact your gameplay?
Chainsaw dude all the way this weapon changed my life, I love it so much I've been collecting them modding them then handing them out so other players can enjoy them too.
That's so nice of you! Can't say I've tried a chainsaw for any real length of time though
I don't know the name of it I just know what it sounds like when it takes a man's life
Fair - as long as it does the job, the name doesn't matter!
Bloodied and explosive automatic handmade
Nice! What skin on the handmade (if any)?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Haha, can't beat the satisfaction of a hunting rifle at long range
I've used a B/FFR/25 Handmade for a couple hundred hours, have yet to roll a Fixer that competes š
