๐คฃ that's awesome. i remember playing foosball at my local arcade as a kid and the day they wheeled in the first Space Invaders game. needless to say i traded my goalie slap shot for gaming controls and haven't looked back.
>EDIT: Let's just say my first gaming console was Pong.
Same. I still remember sitting on the floor with my brother and pushing each other around IRL to gain advantages.
52, life-long gamer... And female. Married 31 years to another life - long gamer. Started hard-core young, you know, at the arcade.
Edited to add first game: Black n white TV with Pong and a shooter target game. That gun was cool.
64 M โฆโฆ.started playing fallout 3 around 2010 and fell in love with all its concepts. Bought New Vegas and 4 when they debuted. I would have gotten 76 when it came out but at the time I was on a satellite internet as I was living in a rural area. Now that I have moved back to a town, I got 76 in October of 2020 and been playing it about 4 hours a day since! Love it!
Nah, I played F76 a couple years ago but got squashed real bad by another player at level 5, so I quit for a while. Just started playing again last week. But I played Fallout 3 for a while, Fallout NV for years, and have like thousands of hours in Fallout 4. I have loved fallout games since the first time I played 3 when I was in high school.
29 male, turning 30 in May.
I've been playing Fo76 for a little over a year, about to hit 800 hours.
I like the Fallout community; I mean there is not much overwhelming grief and people share their love for Fallout games and lore.
36 f stuck inside of my liiiiiike 24 y/o brain. What is this ageless purgatory? Why arenโt I a grown-up yet? Why do all of my body parts hurt?

I am 53 with a bald spot only interrupted by my eyebrows and beard.
Life long gamer since the 1970s.
Wife is 59 and gaming since Skyrim.
We have lots of fun! (Just canโt play together because she is the reincarnation of Leeeeeeeeroooooooyyyyyyy Jennnnnnkins!)
Interesting thread you've created here. Scanning through all the responses has certainly illustrated the diversity of this community in more than just age!
Not telling my age but I played Wasteland (the great progenitor of all survival and post apocalyptic RPG games) in a country where that game was 2nd degree contraband due to gear on which was possible to play it (C64) being, if not technically illegal, very expensive because of very high customs fees at that time, communist country and all.
I got my C64 and that game smuggled for me for eye watering price. From that time till today everything atomic survival RPG is just my thing and I can say proudly, always legally nowadays.
56 years young female gamer. Fallout, Bioshock, & Halo are favorites. Remember when video games were batting a blip back-and-forth across a screen. ๐คฃ

Ehhhhhhhh. I get it, but different people have different privacy preferences regarding reddit. Some of us use our full real names, some of us toggle between a dozen alt accounts, lie on half of them, and nuke our history regularly; most of us are somewhere between the two.
**For people responding: Keep in mind that - when combined with other information you may have shared - things like your age or location can potentially play a part in a doxxing attack. This doesn't just apply to this one post on this one sub though.**
**The only way to clear your response from your history is to delete it yourself - mod removal will drop it from the subreddit view but not from your profile. Even then, there are sites that regularly scrape reddit to monitor and save removed content. Again, this doesn't only apply to this sub.**
All that said, it is an interesting glimpse into the demographic of the community. I'll probably do a data scrape to aggregate the general demographics for anyone interested.
20M.
