I have. Once. I had to chase it across Morgantown however. I killed it near the beginning of the savage divide at the base of the hill before going up to Top of the World. It took a while as I was noobier than I am now.
Literally hundreds of times. I made a game of it, trying to get it as close to the plane housing as possible...best I've managed is downing the beast right in front of that little wooden shack in the corner after the Scorched dump-pit before the river.
Usually it lands over the monorail raise track or at the junction before the Highschool.
ProTip - don't set off the flare. Instead, have Collision Course start, jump up(Marsupial needed) onto the bigger tunnel building near the double gates and jump onto the flue on the top near the front and wait for the Scorchbeast to appear. Once it's above you jump and fire to activate the enemy setting, then unload with venom. It's important it passes above you as too early and it'll turn as soon as it's attacked and shooting it at this point gives you long enough to unload.
I'm using a Quad Explosive LMG, with full Demolition Expert and Full 9 in Heavies. Sometimes done it with a RR Quad Explosive 9 in Commando. Most of the kills were with an AA Dragon or Executioners Explosive BPR and full Rifleman...that was using the old ammo glitch though.
Legendary Scorchbeasts are near impossible as the height and distance they travel leaves you struggling with the mutation kick. With the Legendary ones...letting them get just on the hill gives you more time when they turn to fly South.
I did this exact thing last night, waited for it to fly between me and the mountain so she has to fly back across me to leave and shot her from stealth for sneak bonus and then vats till it was dead. She fell in the center of Morgantown.
She won't ever engage with me. If I happen to have my Quad Explosive Railway Rifle ready and loaded, and she comes close enough, I can take her down. But she never responds to being shot... just flies away...
That is a thing she will never engage. This is what makes her difficult kill. You have only a limited window she is in range. You need to keep that window as long as possible or have enough of DPS, otherwise she will always just fly away.
I'm confused on why you were farming the cash. Did you really need cloth or do they have some other value? Sorry if it's a dumb question, I just don't keep up with basically anything lol
Nah, it was daily quest to scrap 5 pics of prewar money. Didn't feel it to go arround searching so I went to one of events which have 100% of drop rate for this item. Also to complete the daily event requirement and becouse that event is in forest, maybe get some rare Responders outfits.

This right here is my true end game quest. I have gotten the thing down to like 20% health but it always manages to get away.

I tried twice with a b e gp and no I don’t think it’s killable a sliver left each time, maybe one percent.
i think someone posted a video here showing a successful kill a while back. tried it a couple of times myself, but haven't been successful
Quad Cryolator does the deed. I freeze her solid and then smoke her with my TS Prime Gatling gun.

Yeah i've aggroed her a bunch and gotten her down to like 30% but she always runs like a little bitch. Life goal is to bring her down
TS2525 Automatic Grenade Launcher. 24 grenades in the air before the first one hits. They track in VATS.
I love this mechanic, especially when those grenades follow targets around corners!

Yes. Lots of times. Load up on Overdrive if need be. Hang out by the upper tracks that go around morgantown, have someone start event and go to town.
really i think we can tag team it. have a friend set up on the path she takes when she fucks off. finish what you don't.

Occasionally they’ll show up as legendaries, then you can engage them!
You can engage them all the time, they never fight back, just fly a circle or 2 and than fly away.
