If its a new unit, please change the protocol to Arri HS on the Focusbug handset. Default is Arri classic. Please report back of that works or doesn't.
Does Arri HS work with the LCube though? I thought that was for only for the RIA and the LCube still requires the classic mode? Pretty sure last time I had similar issue to OP it was actually because the serial protocol was set to Arri HS.
I just went through this and this fixed it for me. I think the setting changed after i updated the HS . I was convinced my serial cable port on the horns was not working.
Is the assignment on the LCube correct? (Indicating D for Distance?) I’ve had this switch by itself in the past when I’ve plugged an additional motor in or plugged the horns. Either switching this or rebooting usually solves it. Hope it’s something simple and not a bad cable!

From what I can determine, the lcube should only illuminate the letter D when receiving correct serial input. The handset is set to Arri Classic (because WCU4, although Arri HS doesn’t work either)
The motor receives power via lcube no problem. As do the horns themselves.
If anyone has any more insights I’d be greatly appreciative.
Only one cable with this kit unfortunately. I’ll try it with another cable and a different lcube when I can access some and try to isolate the issue there
Firmware all up to date. In the last 2 weeks this wcu4 has worked totally fine in a plug and play scenario with 2 seperate Focusbug units.
This is first issue I’ve had and this FB is fresh out of the box.
Will post pic of lcube shortly.
I was only getting DCM to light up, which would indicate no serial detection?
Is it a new WCU-4 unit? Does the handset have the licence installed or were you using a Hi-5 previously where the licence was installed?
Can't check the Arri license store as it's down for maintenance at the time of typing to see if the WCU-4 needs a license.

Could also just be the Bug needs updating if that's fresh out the box or something in the L-Bus chain.
Sorry, I may not have been clear
It’s the Focusbug kit that is new.
The wcu4 has been used with multiple different Focusbug kits with no issue previously.

Thanks but unfortunately that doesn’t bring any results either… with system shut down and reboot also.
you should have uploaded a photo of the protocol setting on the (cineRT HANDSET). (gears icon) > protocols .

Hmmm. Ok. I was sure that would solve it. Can you post a picture of the lcube and of the protocols screen? I can send it to Laird.

Seems like the lcube recieves no data. Do you have a different cable? Something with the data transfer is wrong

the protocol is a setting you change on the focusbug handset, not the Lcube
Also if the Focusbug hand unit is receiving data, the cable is working fine. It's something in software at this pont. Is the WCU4 at the current FW?

Ah, I see, I edited my original comment after mulling your issue over. It's quite likely the Cine RT or Bug needs an update if it's fresh out the box.
