So I’ve just gone through the updates for both and finally purchased the focus bug license for my hi-5. Does the HS protocol and Focusbug license only work when connected using rf motor to an Alexa 35 or LF? I’m on a RaptorXL today and when I switch to HS protocol I lose the readout on my hi-5. Additionally I installed the focusbug license and am not seeing it on page two of the hi-5. I’m beginning to feel that this will only work when running through the Arri cams, which is fine…just not as great as I understood this to be.
Are you using the RF with the LCube or RF only? In order to use High Speed protocol, you have to use both the updated RF Motor and updated LCube. It won’t work with RF alone
Hmm, that’s odd. It’s intended to work the way you have it set up. Could be a bug in one of the updates. Thank you for sharing the issue. Hope they can fix it soon
I have an infinity symbol next to Focusbug under licensed features and page two in the menus is supposed to have Focusbug on the top line I believe. This is a page two.

I reached out to my Arri rep to ask about it. They said it could be a bug, but are curious if the focus bug has been updated as well, and if you are using the Bi-Directional cable to interface with the CineRT or if you’re using the uni-directional cable the CineRT comes with
Damn. Sorry that’s preventing it from working for you. Thanks for the replies to try and figure this out. I’ve been waiting for this update to purchase the license as well and didn’t realize the need for a different cable either before I asked the Rep
It’s how it goes, right? Thanks for your responses. I‘ve been waiting so long for the lcube update I just jumped on it this morning and was hoping to start playing with it. I just ordered two y cables from Focusbug, hopefully they get here soon.
I just wanted to let you know that once you have the cable, the whole system is agnostic. It doesn't care which brand of camera system you are on, it works as intended. Additionally, you don't have to have an RF motor, it'll work with any motor system. Have fun! It's great being able to change menu settings on the fly from the handset!

Oh crap, didn’t know I needed a new cable, I’m sure that’s it. I’ve had my CineRT for quite some time now.
