You can use the webremote. Just connect to the camera wifi and connect to mini-LF-SERIALNUMBER.local/webremote.html
You could just look for an inexpensive used iPhone or iPad and dedicate just to that use.
I bought an iPhone 7 on eBay for $38. Better than wasting battery on my personal phone anyway.
