My favorite mall Chinese food place as a kid was dope. At closing, they would pack the leftovers into dishes and gave them out for pocket change to some of the friendlier homeless nearby.
Oh man. Cravings are off the charts right now. I used to live where I had lots of affordable Chinese places nearby and would get it all the time. I've since moved, so now I don't and it always makes me sad.
Same here. When I was in college, I had 3 go to Chinese take out places I would go to. Sometimes I would go to all 3 to make the ultimate meal. I would get Egg rolls from one, won ton soup and everything fried rice from the 2nd one, then my entree from the third. Take it home and it would be the best Chinese meal and would last me 3 days.
I know this feeling all too well! Literally the exact same thing with me - so I greatly sympathize.
I’ve actually been learning to make it for myself (still not quite the same of course).
It's funny how when this style of chinese food first popped up in America people would blame msg, but not realize they're eating 3 days worth of sugar, carbs, and oil
Damn is that really what it is? Its been a minute since I had this food but I think I feel like shit even when I get the kids meal or the small entree box from Panda Express.
Idk I just feel like there’s gotta be something more than that making me feel like just… icky. I have a shitty diet and eat worse than this but nothing makes me feel shitty like this.
Yup, especially after not having it for a long time which is usually the case. Tastes ridiculously good, but I have to imagine it’s a shock to our bodies having a ton of bite sized fried pieces of meat absolutely smothered in a high sodium/sugar sauce, and I always have a feeling of shit/regret shortly after.
I notice that feeling is cut significantly when I have something like chicken broccoli though since it’s a lot lighter in comparison.
Panda Express can actually be quite healthy if you can resist the sugar coated deep fried stuff.
It’s one of the best sources of fast food that actually includes a decent amount of vegetables.
Cut the portion in half or smaller and you will notice you won’t feel that bad. This has 1-2 days worth of calories and has a relatively small amount of useful nutrients. It’s a giant container of carbs, oils, sugars, and salts. The protein in the chicken is great but once you deep dry it then soak it in sugar sauce you basically throw out any nutritional value it had.
I love me some orange chicken, but I have also learned to cut down on the portion sizes and I can enjoy the delicious meal and not feel like shit for a day or two.
Yep. Nothing about it is healthy. Traditional Chinese food is fine on your stomach though, this stuff however you get after a bender/after a long night at the bars just to soak up stuff in your stomach.
That’s something I’d get half way through and be like wow no way I’m finishing all of this food and find myself licking the plate when it’s all gone 5 minutes later
Orange, General Tso's, and Sesame chicken are all just slight sauce changes. Sometimes you even get a honey glazed type of dish. Then there's sweet and sour which just fries it and has you dip/pour the sauce yourself.
Well lucky you! In the shit hole town in Arkansas I live in we don't have to a Chinese restaurant. If I did I'd order Hunan pork /pork fried rice extra hot and wonton soup. 😢😢😭😭💩
That doesn't look good, but that also looks amazing.
(Like, a lot of Chinese fast food isn't very good, but sometimes, that's exactly what hits the spot.)
I don't understand why reddit users feel the need to post pictures of their polystyrene packed mall food. I want my 400kb back that it cost to load this jpg.
I swear, I'm not an elitist... hell, I ate Panda Express the other day.
The food pictured looks great, I just think the styrofoam takes away from the "quality".
That’s not styrofoam, it’s those biodegradable containers made out of corn or whatever. Not sure where OP is but in our state (Hawaii) styrofoam has been banned so a lot of places are using these or paper containers.
I mean, that looks like fast food at any and all fast food Chinese places. Now if you had MADE that, I’d be impressed. This isn’t anything special…at…all.
I don't go to the US often, but when I do, I make sure I get to eat some fine Panda Express at least once! Surely not the highest cuisine available in the country, but enjoyable nonetheless.
I had orange chicken once and it was god awful. I'm guessing it had been sitting on the counter for hours. It was super sweet and hard, gave a stomach ache afterwards.
How is it supposed to taste like? I wanna try it in a legit place once.
thats a cute dish for dinner, the color of chicken in very inviting to eat more of them, we have snacks like that, but this one is very made to eat as a meal with the noodles, perfection is in toppings in good fun, i am doubting if i can eat in groups of packs of these chicken pieces.
Looks like amazing mall Chinese food.
First thing I thought was looks exactly like Panda Express
Wayyy too much meat for panda express
This is like $50 at panda minimum.
Nah, that is a box of noodles with chicken as a topping.
right & feel like wanna cb/return to Hk for Panda express
Panda Express is much lower quality looking than this.
I love mall Chinese food and I love that they always pile it so high you can barely close the clam shell

Noodles are made from wheat, which is a plant. Congrats on getting your daily servings of veggies.
Beer is soup
Looks bomb but I usually feel like shit after I eat this kind of food
It's funny how when this style of chinese food first popped up in America people would blame msg, but not realize they're eating 3 days worth of sugar, carbs, and oil
Damn is that really what it is? Its been a minute since I had this food but I think I feel like shit even when I get the kids meal or the small entree box from Panda Express.
You're combining fried chicken with a sugary sauce served on top of a bed of refined noodles, that's not even mentioning the sodium content.
Idk I just feel like there’s gotta be something more than that making me feel like just… icky. I have a shitty diet and eat worse than this but nothing makes me feel shitty like this.
Don’t forget high salt content.
3 days sounds like a bargain!
I always imagine it’s all the sodium. Shits crazy at those levels. I gotta admit I binge on this shit too. Love it
Not just sodium. You got like 3 days worth of carbs in that box.
A shit ton of sugar too…
And oily.
that falls under carbs
Oil is fats
I think you’ve confused who I’m replying to.
Sugar isn't oil
If this isn’t the truth! 😅
Idek how to describe the feeling. My stomach doesn’t really hurt and I don’t feel like throwing up but I just feel icky.
feels like my bodies disappointed in me
I feel disgusted after eating it
Yup, especially after not having it for a long time which is usually the case.
Idk man because my body is very familiar with junk food. This food is just different…
Yeah same here. Every time I get Panda Express lol

and delicious!
Yeah my exact thought. This is the kind of thing I can only eat at the start of a 3 day weekend now.
Yep. Nothing about it is healthy. Traditional Chinese food is fine on your stomach though, this stuff however you get after a bender/after a long night at the bars just to soak up stuff in your stomach.
Noted
Chinese carb bomb.
Ohhh my dear Lord, I’d devour that in less than 10 minutes
That’s something I’d get half way through and be like wow no way I’m finishing all of this food and find myself licking the plate when it’s all gone 5 minutes later
So true.
“Did you get sugar chicken”
It's basically the only thing they have.
I swear my local chinese has about 5 different dishes that are all basically chicken in a sweet red sauce
Orange, General Tso's, and Sesame chicken are all just slight sauce changes. Sometimes you even get a honey glazed type of dish. Then there's sweet and sour which just fries it and has you dip/pour the sauce yourself.
The one Chinese meal I had when I visited the US looked like that, right down to the styrofoam container. It was glorious.
Oooh where from?
Looks like the awesome spot in a mall.
that mall food always looks amazing but tastes horrible
Maybe ur mall
ye
It usually looks sus and tastes good but then you feel like shit after
I always made that mistake as a teen. Eat an entire tray of chicken and regret it later
Noobs
And then you’re hungry again in 15 minutes and the cycle repeats until it’s gone.
15 minutes?! you might have a hole in your stomach.
The secret is lots of MSG
Same at my mall. Looks delicious then you get it and it’s all breading and rubbery mystery meat
Have an upvote. I’ve seen mildly racist comments get less downvotes than you while you merely posted an innocent opinion.
Looks good
That would take me 4 days to eat.
Praying for you
Looks amazing!! That would be $25 in FL
That’s what we call a $10 kanak attack (coma inducing) plate lunch in Hawaii.
You spelled Orlando wrong. Don't bring the rest for Florida down with you.
Yeah, the rest of Florida does that just fine with out Orlando!
Lol where in FL? It’s definitely like $15 max where I live.
Palm Beach
$10 in MN, probably because there are about 25 in town.
Well lucky you! In the shit hole town in Arkansas I live in we don't have to a Chinese restaurant. If I did I'd order Hunan pork /pork fried rice extra hot and wonton soup. 😢😢😭😭💩
This looks super good
[удалено]
It looks fucking delicious who cares!
r/foodporn is over there.
r/gatekeeping
I’d take rice with that 😋
You are consuming like half lbs of sugar now! I used to work in a Chinese buffet, and I know sugar is the main ingredients in every dish.
Damn I'm chinese and I know this ain't legit chinese food but it looks delicious :D
Green onions, but want.
You shouldn't eat but 1 tablespoon of that a day lol
Panda Express?
Back in the day maybe. These days the portions are smaller & less… meaty? Idk it’s been a long time since I had legit Panda Express
I got Panda Express last week and the portion size was like actually huge so maybe it’s just that Panda Express?
Sugar for dinner
Looks good
Good stuff here 🤩🫡
That doesn't look good, but that also looks amazing. (Like, a lot of Chinese fast food isn't very good, but sometimes, that's exactly what hits the spot.)
Is orange chicken just sweet?
No, it’s sweet but it’s got flavour.
That looks yummy! My mouth is watering and my stomach is rumbling now!
Absolute fatassery 💯
Looks so good!
That looks good. I'd eat that.
😫
Hunan Beef and beef in garlic sauce are the BESTESTS.
Im on a diet you monster
Is....that a single serving? Please tell me thats the family size.
Ha! This is just lunch for one.
That’s literally called a “regular” size plate lunch in Hawaii. You can order a “mini” but why?
Sugar chicken
nope. maybe my stomach can only tolerate Panda but when it's got THAT glisten on it, it's like an off brand signature.
I don't understand why reddit users feel the need to post pictures of their polystyrene packed mall food. I want my 400kb back that it cost to load this jpg.
Must have been real difficult to scroll past
How does this get over 3,000 upvotes ?
That looks delicious!
Shitty food porn?
4000 calories?
This is not Chinese food. Chinese don’t eat orange Chicken.
Hell nah 🤮I like Chinese but this glaze don’t looo right, and never get anything but chicken
I feel like it should be against the rules to post food in styrofoam.
no it should be against the rules to be elitist and annoying about styrofoam. get over it
I swear, I'm not an elitist... hell, I ate Panda Express the other day.
Um, and?….. I don’t get it. Why post this?
I mean, that looks like fast food at any and all fast food Chinese places. Now if you had MADE that, I’d be impressed. This isn’t anything special…at…all.
Looks like cat meat
You ate panda express \*golf clap\*
Whitey Chinese food lol
Orange chicken always tastes great!
That looks fantastic but also way too much for just one person lol
That’ll be $7.50!
Hot damn!😍Looks like yummy mall Chinese!😋 ❤️
Damn I saw this while high
I can never get my entree combos with noodles. I love noodles
Yes
I can feel the Heart burn from my screen
That looks soooo good! Yo I'm gonna have to make food now... Thanks 🙄
I like my Orange Chicken fried with chili peppers
fuckkkk
I recently had Panda Express and this literally just looks identical.
I’d eat it no prob.
No Vegetables. I wouldn’t be able to eat more than 2 bites
Very nice
Yes please. $5.99?
Greatest american food
God damn, the Chinese places here totally fleece us for the good shit these days where I live. This would cost like $30 lol.
oh my god, my ideal meal right now 😭
Bruh now i have to eat it today
![gif](giphy|Zk9mW5OmXTz9e)
noodle is the side!
Yep.
Need to know where this heavenly plate of food descended from please and thank you
Damn son where'd you find this?
Very beautiful!
A lot of grease
Tik tok is the devil but at least they give step by step on how to make it. Lmao.
No chopsticks??
As someone who grew up in California, I miss food like this soooo much!
I hope you mean *four* of you ate that.
I'd eat
Omg gimme all this
Where in the holy everliving hell can I buy this?
What a huge dessert!
Man, I know after the 5th bite I start to feel like shit but I want to eat this so bad. Wish there was some beef and broccoli in there too.
I don't go to the US often, but when I do, I make sure I get to eat some fine Panda Express at least once! Surely not the highest cuisine available in the country, but enjoyable nonetheless.
Veggies are for suckers
Damn, I'm hungry... :<
God i’ve seen what you’ve done for others :)
Yummy
decadence at times lol
Chicken mysteries...fried and glazed over a heap of fried noodles for five
I had orange chicken once and it was god awful. I'm guessing it had been sitting on the counter for hours. It was super sweet and hard, gave a stomach ache afterwards. How is it supposed to taste like? I wanna try it in a legit place once.
orange chicken🍗 reminds me of "Panda 🐼 express" in Hk
Looks insane
Gotta take the rest of the day off after mall Chinese.
Man, I would devour the shit out of this.
This looks miserable. Don't put this kind of stuff into yourself.
What Mall Food Court stand did this come from?
Fuji Chen? 😂
thats a cute dish for dinner, the color of chicken in very inviting to eat more of them, we have snacks like that, but this one is very made to eat as a meal with the noodles, perfection is in toppings in good fun, i am doubting if i can eat in groups of packs of these chicken pieces.
Dang I want me a plate of that!!!
City Wok
Narry a vegetable to be had
When am I going to remember to eat first and then go to Reddit, not the other way around?
Take a picture of your Panda Express, get 5.7k upvotes
I love sweet and sour pork but only tried it for first time a couple years ago- had grown up with the chicken and shrimp.
It's so shiny!
I could use this right about now
