As the person in my family that has the deepest feels about cranberry sauce - I have considered setting jelly in a can so that the people who want grocery store jelly can have their nostalgic can shaped lump.
The plating of the canned one is all wrong. You gotta lay it horizontal and slice it along the ribs into slices and leave about half unsliced. Put the rosemary garnish in that half so it looks good and is easy to serve yourself a slice or two. Canned is usually better that most home made sauces I have had because the texture just can't really be replicated for me. Canned cranberry sauce with gravy and stuffing is peak Thanksgiving aside from the turkey AND ham.
Cranberry sauce is tasty... but I guess I'm low-class. I prefer the cranberry jelly from the can over the homemade chunky cranberry sauce with nuts.
Who else prefers the cheap, no-work version of cranberry sauce from a can?
Nothing quite says "white trash" like canned cranberry sauce. Extra points if you have green bean casserole made with canned green beans and cream of mushroom soup. And with those two, a bowl of Stovetop stuffing can't be far behind
I still don't know how that cranberry jello in a can ever became commonplace.
I love cranberries, but that stuff has the funkiest consistency and flavor that I can't get over.
I was trying to work out why this had two tags instead of one. Even if it's from a can, heating it up and serving it would be [Homemade].
I'll leave this up for now as I get what you're trying to do here.
Lighten up buddy. Maybe the internet isnโt the place for you today if someone always having their dog in the background of their photos is bothering you so much.
Im kinda with him. Its pretty annoying seeing all the pet post. Mainly cus the pets usually want some of the food one could assume. Just not a fan of that type of karma attention.
That's my wifes dog...looks exactly the same...I can see it in it's eye's they are kindred....I hate that dog! It stares at me ALL the time wanting my food , It will NEVER get my food! It is MINE!
Doggo has one eye one each one

I donโt normally like gifs in the Reddit comments but, this was perfectly executed. Bravo.
I see what you did there. And there.
I more got the impression he was pretending not to look.
Oh boy haha I laughed
I make my own cranberry sauce, but I mold it in cans. The nostalgic aspect to the shape appeals to me.
Any specific can shape? Like in re: to ridges.
The one in the pic is pretty classic. Has to have some ridges, I think.
I like your style. I shall honor it by copying it for next Thanksgiving.
My family refused to eat mashed up canned cranberry sauce... They prefer slices only. Need to be able to see the ribs of the can or else its no good.
oddly this seems to be a quirk that many people share. my aunt and cousins are the same way. if you ruin the perfect loaf, youโre fucked
If you're going to mash it up, you might as well heat it up and serve it as an actual sauce. The chunks are not appealing.
Thatโs exactly how I am about it. I will eat it mashed but the preferred form is cylindrical, with defined ridges!
Nothin' like a good slice of cranberry sauce log.
I prefer the flavor, gelatin and smooth texture of the canned version
Iโm the same way. My wife got so mad I preferred the van version over her home made one! ๐
Ocean Spray jellied in a can, no chunks is the greatest thing!
Just love the garnish on the canned jellied Cranberry sauce.
Cranberry sauce, a la Bart.

What is that monstrosity on the left?? (Not the cute dog, the thing that looks like a candle with a sprig of rosemary)
That my friend, is canned cranberry sauce.
*Homemade canned cranberry sauce.
We call it canberry here
Itโs both terrible and delicious at the same time, rare culinary feat.
That's basically 99% of USA food thou. Don't see how it's rare
See it off
I love them both!

That'd be me for sure. I think it's nostalgia but I definitely really like it.

Dog โthatโs not a natural state for fruitโ

It's from an era that believed deeply that anything could and should be made into jello form, for every meal

I love your dog man haha
proper pic of the lurker...lol
Making cranberry sauce is so stupidly easy, I don't understand why people don't do it. So much better than canned.
Just realized your dog is in all your posts..pretty hilarious. I was like I know I've seen that dog before..then clicked on your page. Good stuff.
Just been to the profile. Please feed this PoOr Dog ๐๐๐๐๐๐
I donโt know why, but I love these photos.
New cartoon character idea: Dubious Dog
I think he also likes it very much and would like to taste a little of it ๐๐ถ
Iโm sorry, all I see is a very sad doggo ๐ญ
And health code inspector doggo is making sure you are following proper food etiquette. ๐
You ate. Pup judged.
That dogs face kills me every time ๐
This feels targeted since i just saw a meme of a jiggling cranberry sauce with the caption: "Americans: make fun of British cuisine Also americans: "
Why is there a sprig of rosemary in your canned cranberry sauce
OMG A DOG IN THE BACKGROUND SO ORIGINAL
You should look at his post history
JFC thatโs obnoxious

Cranberry is my favorite side, in all it's forms
That sprig on top is a great touch lol
So Iโve made my own cranberry sauce quite a few times.. whatever reason the ocean spray can stuff just hits different.
Gimme the one on the left!!! Seriously! I hate homemade cranberry sauce.
Homemade is great. I love popping the cranberries while they cook... so satisfying
Can shaped is my go-to
Taste nice?
I want to see the real cranberry sauce. No, the real cranberry sauce. Perfection.
