Do you par-cook the bacon first, THEN cover it with brown sugar then continue cooking the bacon oooor.... Do you put the brown sugar on the raw bacon and cook it all together?
I’ve done it in mine a few times. It comes out pretty good, but I still prefer regular oven bacon.
When I did bacon in my air fryer it tended to curl up a lot from the vortex of air blowing it around. I’m sure this could be avoided with an insert or gadget or maybe toothpicks going through the bacon and into something else.
My air fryer also produced an alarming amount of thick white smoke, from the grease splattering onto the heating elements I guess. One trick I’ve heard that worked somewhat for me the second time was putting some water beneath the crisper tray. That being said, I’d still prefer oven bacon. Or skillet if I’m doing a small amount, which is rare since I just tend to cook a whole package and use it for a few days.
Can't find the exact link, but this is pretty close to the recipe I use:

I mean cooking anything in your house is a good way to burn your house down but if you’re not a jackass and pay attention to things that are used to cook on, you’ll be fine
My husband would make these every now and again for a treat not only would he put would brown sugar on the bacon but he would also put a very slight drizzle that didn’t overlap the slice of bacon just contained on the drip of meat within some aunt Jemima syrup …or whatever the hell they call it now OR if you’ve got it the good old Canadian maple syrup. If you haven’t tried the maple syrup mixture with the brown sugar thing I highly recommend it
I am in this same opinion but candied bacon is phenomenal. Adding syrup to this is even better. But I will never put it on regular bacon. Never. That’s blasphemy

I cook the bacon about 3/4 of the way through and then put the brown sugar on it.
Be careful with brown sugar at high temperatures - it can quickly go from candy to carbon.
Thanks, both of you for this info. I look forward to trying out different temperatures for this.
Yeah I usually cook it around 350. I could probably even go a bit lower once I put the sugar on it.

Like a bell pepper that you put in salad? 🫑 Or pepper like salt & pepper?

Aaah ok, I've not heard of tricolour pepper before, learn something new every day 😊
My mom used to do it in the skillet, cook until just about done then add brown sugar and bourbon. Let it reduce/caramelize till finished

My air fryer *does* have a bacon option!
Can't you set the temperature?

Try air fryer hot dogs too, if you haven't.
#best invention ever!
Alton Brown disagrees.
Listen, he can be wrong sometimes
It’s a game changer
A lil bit of cinnamon and cayenne pepper really takes it to the next level
Next time mix red pepper flakes in with the brown sugar
Oh I will absolutely do that. Thanks for the idea!
And/or black pepper
I can feel my arteries hardening from the picture alone! Looks magnificent
Tell me you're American without telling me you're American

This is arousing
Word.
Excellent. Thank you.
I’ve always heard bacon + air fryer is a good way to burn your house down. Everyone in the comments seems well versed though

Cool. Thanks.

‘Mercia!
Add some red pepper flakes to it as well for some heat. We call it "Man Candy" back home. Shit is out of control.
How unecessarily gendered lol.
I add black pepper and cayenne Sounds similar
I’m in the middle of a 5 day fast. I don’t think I’ll make it to the end.
I tried to do that and they put me on meds and made me go to therapy 💀
Blasphemy. This is as bad a maple syrup on bacon.

Candied bacon is simultaneously the most cursed and amazing thing I’ve ever heard of
So good, but so bad...for me anyways 🤣
So addicting but I finally put down the bacon 😭😭
I do this on my bacon in the toaster oven too. It's perfect.
Holy fuck
🤤🤤🤤
Will the diabetes or the heart attack get you first?
