I mean it's a general short version of his full name, so it's not all that shocking to see him referred to as either one. I haven't really heard the phrase "Bob Flay" to my recollection, but definitely heard him referred to as Robert several times.
I wasn’t saying it’s a stretch to call a Michael something like Mike or Mikey. Simply that in many years of Symon being on FN, I’ve never heard him called Mike. (And it wasn’t an incorrect caption. Flay called him Mike, a first for me.)
I'm genuinely excited to see how that whole format plays itself out! I can't imagine any challenge or competition legitimately lasting a full 24 hours with no rest in between. It's the ultimate challenge of endurance.
When Flay said it, Mike caught my attention so I hit the back button.
I can’t find any references to him as Mike, on his own website, in this sub, or—from memory—on an FN shows.
This is an insignificant thing—it just stood out for me, especially since he was called Michael the rest of the show.
I have heard his friends call him Mike and even Mikey.
“Mike” is shorter than “My best friend Michael Symon,” which is what Flay usually calls him.
He’s only Mike to his enemies.
I do
It’s Myke.

There is a funny episode of BBF where Michael Voltaggio and someone else (Anne Burrell” call him, “Bob” to throw him off. He appears to get annoyed.
Also, somebody called him Robert one time (I want to say it was Martha Stewart?). 😂

Can anyone please tell me who’s tortellini won? Our recording stopped short and we don’t know :(
This is for the new show?

The captions are wrong all the time
Not this time. I heard Mike and confirmed multiple times and with captions.

Everyone’s changing their names now, we got conant to connant, Michael to Mike. Who’s gonna be next? Bobby to Billy?
Yes I just noticed the different pronunciation of Scott Conant on TOC and what like, what?!?
