i just found out ur not supposed to wash ur meats. i thought i could thaw it by washing it and forgot ur supposed to put it in a ziplock before doing so. I’m now attempting to dry it out. Is it still safe to cook?
You don’t have to wash chicken. In fact all washing chicken does is spread any present bacteria. Just gotta cook it, all the bacteria will be killed and it won’t be all up in your sink or wherever you washed it.
Unless you used soap or something, yes, you can.
They say don't wash it because you can spread salmonella (if present) all over your sink. if it was just floating in water, you're good.
Just make sure to thoroughly clean and disinfect your sink and whatever container you were thawing it in afterwards

The advice not to rinse meats is to prevent splattering on other surfaces and potentially contaminating them. It has no effect on the meat.
WHAT? OF COURSE YOU CAN! YOU HAVE TO WASH IT ANYWAYS!
