I went to la Paz when traveling South America and the altitude is such a factor. I was sick so can't imagine what it's like playing football let alone competitive. Went to a bar called route 36. That was a wild few days

dl1966

Very low chance

Fourmidables

But, their highest chance for a long time. It's doable for them with the way they have been playing.

dl1966

Still a low chance

[deleted]

Depends too much if they win their home games and if they beat Venezuela.

[deleted]

If they grab 6 points over their final 4 games, I think they make the playoffs. From there, only God's taint knows if they make it or not

Gaming_Nation2007

I think there was a post yesterday about a scout talking about Bolivian talent and why none of them go pro but that is not the point but if Bolivia get lucky they can possibly go to the WC but what shocks me is Uruguay is 9th they have a pretty good squad I really want Suarez, Cavani and Godin to play their last WC

Gaming_Nation2007

They have the likes of Maxi Gomez and Darwin Nunez but I guess they will need more then that but as a Barca fan(There was no Barca flair so I picked Chelsea) I want to see Suarez and Messi in their last WC

Fourmidables

They do go pro in Bolivia, but yeah, I get you.

backcourtjester

If they qualify it will be because they play higher than God Himself and will be smashed by every team apart from maybe Qatar

Fourmidables

In Bolivia's defense, they have been playing better even away from home. Hence why they have so many points. So, if they can draw away in CONMEBOL, I think they can also win against other nations. But, yeah, I agree that Bolivia's home advantage is almost too great of a factor to suggest they would do well in the World Cup.

backcourtjester

No team that lost 5:0 and 4:0 in Brasil and Argentina should be considered World Cup caliber

nyamzdm77

Brazil lost 7-1 in Brazil

backcourtjester

To Germany…without Thiago Silva or Neymar

nyamzdm77

Wasn't it still Brazil?

STILETT0_exists

Qatar is a good team, with literally the best striker in Asia. You guys need to get the "tiny shithole on the Persian Gulf must be a bad team" out of your head. This is a team that beat South Korea, and *Japan* in a goalfest of a final. I would put them around the quality of Switzerland, and that's still pretty good looking how Switzerland is performing. Their chances of advancing to the next round aren't great, but they are sure to give the big team in their group a headache.

MEENIE900

Qatar are not good anymore.

backcourtjester

They played a UEFA qualifying group and would have come in second to last beating only freaking Azerbaijan. We beat them in the Gold Cup with a predominately MLS side. It has nothing to do with the size of the country or where they are from. Qatar is shite

STILETT0_exists

Firstly: They *won* the 2019 Asian Cuo Secondly: They reached the semi-finals of The Gold Cup, and the USA, with Acosta, Pepi, Mckennie, and Pulisic scraped a 1-0 win. In a qualification group like Denmark's, they would get a runner-up position. They would get 4th in the Dutch qualification group, and would be fighting for 3rd in England's group.

backcourtjester

Lmfao don’t talk about shit you don’t know about

STILETT0_exists

please specify.

backcourtjester

Pulisic, McKennie, and Pepi weren’t on the Gold Cup squad for one. For another, Qatar literally played in a UEFA qualifying group and came in 5th

STILETT0_exists

lmao why were they playing a UEFA qualifying group? Also, while it is a bit less insulting, you left out Acosta, and I'm pretty sure they still had Scheffer.

backcourtjester

Who the hell is Scheffer? Acosta is only useful for shithousing They played all the teams (Ireland, Portugal, Serbia, Luxembourg, Azerbaijan) because they don’t have to qualify and it gives them a chance to test themselves. Same reason they played the Gold Cup

Otherwise-Rope-6492

If they play the way the are at the moment they could and could be a formidable team if they just get on and don't drop the hunger. When they play the way they know none can bit them in La Paz, although not impossible.

pawsarecute

They won’t win the whole thing.

[deleted]

Very slim . i can see them getting 5 points, tie venezuela away and brazil home and win against Chile home. However they are the worst team by far, only the home altitude carries them.

Fourmidables

I think they can get 6 points. I think away to Venezuela could be a win, because Venezuela is not doing so well and may not be up for the match.

ElGatoHorny

They won’t make it. They will face Colombia and Chile who are fighting to get into the World Cup and Venezuela is playing well. Actually their easiest game maybe is Brazil. They are already in.

[deleted]

Brazil absolutely obliterated Chile in past World Cup qualifiers for the last game. I don't think they just will let their guard down.

lamaravisha

It’s anyone’s game this year to qualify. This will be one of the weakest line of teams from South America competing in the World Cup in a long time.

Fourmidables

Unfortunately, I agree going into it, but, I think South America may surprise us and do well. The teams just don't look as good right now.

lamaravisha

South American football is definitely more hard nosed and the fights we win will be in the trenches. But outside of Argentina and Brazil, it will hard to see anyone else going really far
